TITLE/COVER

The title is a perfect fit for the story. It is catchy and matches the genre of the story.

The cover, which features the image of a man and a woman, is very colorful, which encapsulates the overall mood of the story. The fonts used on the cover are visually appealing. The name of the author and the title are easy to read.

However, The other images on the cover don't seem to be relevant to the story. They slightly overload the cover and take the focus away from the couple, which might not appeal to potential readers.

BLURB

The blurb is a bit long. It ends up revealing way too many details about the book before the reader has a chance to begin the story. It could suit the story more if a large amount of the details given were alluded to instead of being plainly stated.

A typical blurb should: be short in length, use attention-grabbing phrases and words, give readers a clear idea about the book by setting up what can be expected, and end in some sort of cliffhanger to hook the reader.

GRAMMAR/SPELLING/VOCABULARY

There are some minor errors, but it's nothing a little editing can't fix.

The vocabulary used to describe is extensive but still manages to be comprehensible. It enhances the reading experience by completely hooking the reader to the story.

SETTING/WORLDBUILDING

The inciting incident gives a glimpse into the cutthroat world of the film industry that the main character is struggling to survive in. It is described as a world where passion isn't enough to secure a position. It makes it easy to understand the reason behind her actions.

The subtle ways that the characters' professions and the polarising industries they work in have a way of affecting their personalities are explored engagingly.

PLOT

The choice to arrange the chapters to feature the dual point of view is well executed. The reader can see how different the main characters are and get invested in how they will end up together.

The way the two leads got to meet was interesting. The use of dramatic irony makes the story a more interesting experience for the reader.

PACING

Each chapter progresses both the plot and the characters. The important aspects of the story are also explored in depth. This results in the pacing of the story being just right.

CHARACTERS

The addition of character aesthetics and playlists is well thought out. It gives the reader some insight into aspects of the character before they can meet them.

The characters' backstories are described in depth. It also shows how the characters became their present selves. It helps the reader to identify with them and compels them to stick around to find out how they will change by the end of the story.

Both the main leads have very entertaining inner thoughts. The dialogue and interactions set them up as engaging and dynamic characters.

OVERALL ENJOYMENT

I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of reading the book.
