1. Faulty Parachutes.

Natalie POV

"how could you be so stupid of course he only loves you " I just can't believe how oblivious movie characters can be. I was currently watching 'if i stay' and bawling my eyes out on a handkerchief which the flight attendant gave instead of a tissue.

My two best-friends Amanda and Akira were currently fast asleep, Akira's long black hair was allover her face, making she look like the grudge. Amanda was curled up like a little kitten in her blanket making soft snoring sounds every once in a while.

We had two hours until we reached London and I planned on making the most of riding first class. I had won a competition back home in Chicago. We had to submit an original song about the summer break to Capital FM in order to win three all expense paid passes for an 'around the world in sixty days' summer vacation trip. My friends and I had made a song about summer a year back; so we had an advantage. The song was great and it was played for a week on capital fm and now we are on the vacation heading to London.

As Capital FM is based in the UK, the trip starts from there. So this is our first trip: from Chicago to London. To say I'm excited is an Understatement! I was still watching the movie and smiling like a retarded gorilla because of the feels this movie was giving me!

All of a sudden the plane gave a sudden jerk. I held onto my seat handles. It was my first time flying anywhere. Being born and brought up in Chicago where all my family and friends live I didn't need to leave the place by flight.

I was praying that nothing was going to go wrong. I mean I know that a trip around the world for absolutely free sounds too good to be true. For all I knew this whole thing could have been a scheme to not pay for all the expenses. I pushed that negative thought away from my brain and tried to calm down.

You are not going to die. Its probably just a turbulence.

The air craft kept shaking and I was getting more and more paranoid by the second.

"Of course I'll marry you Prince Harry." I heard Amanda mutter in her sleep.

What!? we're in a turbulence and you're thinking of marrying the prince of England?

The plane was rocking around a bit and I saw the cabin crew come close to the emergency exits and then pull out an emergency seat from the wall, sit down and buckle up.

Oh my Gawd we're going to die.

A harsh jerk to the right woke Akira up. "What's Happening?!?" The fear was evident in her voice.

The air hostess in front of us smiled a reassuring smile and said,"These happen all the time, don't worry, Its just a little turbulence." Hard to believe that its just a "little turbulence" when the air craft was shaking and quaking!

Suddenly we dropped a few feet below then we came sky rocketing back up. I think I'm gonna be sick. we kept losing altitude for a couple minutes then gaining it again. It was beyond scary. Amanda finally woke up when I accidentally jabbed her in the head with my elbow because the plane was rocking. "Did we reach yet- Holy cheesecake is this an earth quake?" Amanda asked drowsily.

"shut up! Oh. my. god. we're so gonna die Andy!" Akira burst out. "WHAT?!!?" I just kept quiet because this was surreal! I must be dreaming. That's it I must have fallen asleep watching the movie and dreamed this situation up.

"Cabin crew please direct the passengers to the nearest exit point; I repeat direct the passengers to the nearest exit. Please grab a parachute and jump off the air craft if you want to survive."

Well that was very assuring!

All the air attendants quickly jumped onto their feet and opened the exit door while a few other crew members brought out the parachutes. Amanda, Akira and I hastily removed our seat belts I took my small messenger bag and run for the emergency door.

An already equipped air host helped me into my parachute. He fastened the belts and latches around my body and made me wait behind a man who didn't wait a minute before he jumped. I was beyond terrified! Where would I land?

"Where will I land?" I asked the air host who was fastening Akira up.

"Somewhere safe I assure you." he said without sparing me a glance.

Amanda being the crazy one Jumped off the aircraft like the man previously had. I don't think I can do this. "We are as close to ground as we can go the pilot is trying to keep us steady, so we don't have much time. please hurry up and jump." He said looking me in the eye.

I gulped.

Akira squeezed my hand and jumped off the plane screaming.

I was about to jump, or so I told myself when the plane jerked left throwing me off the air craft completely unprepared.

"AHHHHHHHHH....." I screamed. I kept dropping and dropping and the wind was hurting my skin. My goggles clad eyes couldn't see quiet clear but I could see that It was night time and I falling into a city! All I could makeout where its street lights.

I didn't know when to pull the string that released the parachute but I figured now was as good a time as ever considering that I was picking up velocity.

I started tugging at my coat string but nothing was happening. I pulled as hard as I could and ended up breaking the red tag thingy. I frantically searched for another draw string but came up empty handed.

I can't believe I'm going to die this way. I should have never entered that competition. tears flew out of my eyes but due to my free falling they were flowing upwards.

I wanted to slow time because the ground was coming closer at an alarming rate! I cried and kept pulling at weird nobs and other attachments praying to miraculously open up the parachute.

I could see the ground, It was a concert stage and I could see many people screaming and waving their glow sticks. I couldn't make out the sound of the music because all I could hear was the wind passing through my ears as I reached closer towards my death.

I screamed just for the heck of screaming and wondered what happened to Amanda and Akira Before I hit the cold hard ground. Hard.

I opened my eyes immediately and cursed because it worsened the pain. I could only stay conscious for a few more seconds before I welcomed the darkness that was spreading from the corners of my vision. I gave in knowing I wouldn't wake up again.

Heyy you guys! so this is a story I've had in my drafts for a very long time. I thought I'd just put out all of my draft books as "Coming soon" & "Coming Sooner or Later" books.

So They will each have the first chapter and nothing else until I'm done with 'My Safe Haven'.

hope you like this book. This is just the beginning and as the title suggests Yes the main character will suffer from Amnesia. Spoiler title. oops.
