Spring Still Has Not Yet Sprung...or has it?

Bunny promptly vanished into one of his self-made tunnels with a quick wave of his paw, shouting, "Meet me at Pixie Hollow!" We looked around confusedly, wondering what we could use to get ourselves there.

Heather, ever the most sensible and responsible, broke the awkward silence with a suggestion. "Maybe we could find one of Bunny's snowglobes and transport ourselves to Pixie Hollow? After all, Tink and Peri flew out of it into our attic, and I'm assuming you both were in the Hollow before going to our place. Bunny also used a similar snowglobe to take us to the fairies' home."

Peri nodded. "We were right in front of the Everblossom, the flower which blooms to signify that the fairies are prepared to bring Spring to the Mainland. A light shone out of it, and we appeared in your attic."

"No wonder," I exclaimed. "I think I saw a place where Kangaroo—Bunny stashed some snowglobes," I ran off in the direction of Gruff's cave. Fawn flew after me and went into the cave, presumably to tell Gruff that we were going back to his home.

"Found it!" I called triumphantly as I spotted a lone snowglobe behind a mountain of colorful Easter Eggs. Bunny had probably dropped it on his way to wherever the bulk of globes was stored. Heather gave me a thumbs up, and the NeverBeast raced out of the cave in thundering footsteps. Once we were all gathered together, I smashed the snowglobe on the soft, mossy warren ground, and a blinding beam of light shot out of the soil. It engulfed us all, and we were spiraling, tumbling, spinning in the portal...

We fell with a bump onto a patch of wilted flowers. Fawn, Tink, and Peri took a moment to survey the loss again. "It seems we've landed in Spring Valley," Tinker Bell commented passively.

"But it looks more like Winter Valley than Spring," Periwinkle grimaced. "Everything's covered in snow, and the pink flowers are now brown. Pixie Hollow used to have all four seasons coexisting at once so that we could prepare efficiently for the changing of the seasons. Now, it's all just bleak and white and...lifeless."

We looked around dejectedly. After a moment of mournful silence, Fawn was the first to speak up. "I'd better make sure Gruffy's holding up alright," she flitted over to the enormous NeverBeast's side, whose emerald eyes seemed to be a shade darker than usual.

Gruff groaned and sighed unhappily. His tummy grumbled. "Oh dear," Periwinkle let out a sad chuckle. "I think he's hungry."

Fawn shook her head. "I'm pretty sure that's not Gruffy's tummy, but he did say something about the Everblossom and how it might grow faster if compromises are made. I don't quite know what he means by that—you know how enigmatic he is sometimes. But if we find a way to make that—" she pointed to the flower in question—"grow faster, like he said, then Easter will definitely come sooner."

"Agreed." A voice from underneath us boomed, and Bunny shot out of the tunnel. I applauded excitedly—that was quite the grand entrance. "I've brought a seed straight from the Guardians' Headquarters. It represents hope and is specially cultivated by all of us back at the North Pole to make sure Spring gets here as soon as possible,"

Tink gingerly reached out her hands to take the seed from Bunny. It was colorful and seemed to light up Spring Valley, reflecting off of the trees and cascading its iridescent rainbow swirls on every single surface. "But what are we supposed to do with it? Plant another Everblossom?" she muttered.

"Actually, I think I know what Gruff means by making compromises to help the Everblossom grow quicker." Heather offered. "It's simple, really. The flower will grow with more hope for Spring to come. Since the Belief in the world is low, we need another external source to make it thrive. And Bunny has given us the Hope seed from the Guardians, so if we plant it, something might happen to the Everblossom so it blooms. Once it does, it's ready for the fairies to bring Spring to the Mainland."

"True," Periwinkle remarked. "I'll get Rosetta. She can plant the Hope Seed for us. Then we'll add a little pixie dust, and everything should return to normal."

I smiled. "I Believe in all of you."

Rosetta arrived with some of her garden fairy friends, and they planted the seed quickly. She also sprinkled some pixie dust on the ground to help the seed grow quicker and provide nutrients. They left as soon as they had come, as the Hollow still needed to be fully restored.

All eyes were on the majestic Everblossom as the Hope seed grew into a sprout. Its stem started climbing upwards, wrapping around the flower. We leaned in expectantly when the two leaves had reached the top. The Hope Plant grew into the Everblossom and suddenly disappeared.

Harp music started coming from...who knew where, and the Everblossom stretched out its pale yellow petals—no, they were pink, now blue, then lavender...the colors each spiraled and graced our eyes with their soft pastel shades. A bright light (much like the one we had seen from the snowglobe when Heather and I broke it back in our attic) shot out from the Everblossom's center. To our dismay, the petals closed up again, but the light remained. We gasped in awe, but the light faded as a regal figure flitted towards us.

Bunny bowed, and Periwinkle, Tinker Bell, and Fawn dropped into a curtsy. Heather and I rushed to do the same. It was Queen Clarion!

"What's this?" the Queen circled the Everblossom, then her eyes widened as she motioned for us to stand up. "Trust Tinker Bell and Periwinkle to always do the unimaginable! A Guardian and two Clumsies in Pixie Hollow? And I bet Fawn has something to do with the NeverBeast," she chuckled lightly.

"I also trust that the seven of you bloomed the Everblossom." We nodded—Heather and I were still speechless. "There's only one problem: Pixie Hollow is nowhere near ready to bring Spring to the Mainland, so it's closed up again. But when it opens its petals once more, Spring will be more vibrant than ever before."

"I believe the Guardians can be of some help," Bunny spoke up. "We could get Sandy to create dreams of Easter and Spring, North to help me hide easter eggs together, Jack to...do whatever he wants to make sure Spring arrives quickly—maybe staying out of our way? And Tooth—"

"The Tooth Fairy can recruit her fairies to help restore Belief with Prilla, who can appear for a short while just so that the children can see her, but adults cannot. They can show themselves to the children tonight along with her," I interjected, and everyone nodded. Bunny saluted us and made a tunnel back to the Guardians' Headquarters to carry out the orders.

"What about you?" Queen Clarion motioned to the fairies, Heather and I. "We'll help with the preparations for Spring. I'm sure the Tinker talents can whip something up quickly," Tinker Bell answered. "The Winter fairies can work with the Water talents to evaporate the snow, like what some are trying to do right now," Periwinkle added, motioning to a group of fairies. The sisters flew off to do their respective jobs.

Heather looked at me tentatively. "We could help with cleaning up and taking the NeverBeast back to his resting place with Fawn," she suggested.

"Just so long as everyone is doing their part and helping us out, we'll be fine. Thank you for bringing back Spring and Belief." Queen Clarion smiled. "You were there when we at Pixie Hollow needed you the most, so we are forever in your debt, Believers." Then, she vanished into a ball of light.

We were holding back tears all the way to Gruff's resting place. As he closed his green eyes for the last time until a millennium later, Fawn touched his nose. "It's still so painful even when this is the second time I'm saying goodbye," she sobbed, voice cracking. "I'll miss you so much," Fawn looked at Gruff, and a single tear rolled down her left cheek.

We bowed our heads and left the NeverBeast to rest for another thousand years. I tried my best to comfort Fawn, but the stream of tears on my face wasn't helping us at all. We sat in silence for what seemed like an eternity, accompanied by our soft sobs and weeps.

"Bye, Gruffy," Heather whispered one last time before we turned back.

A few hours later, all of us regrouped. Bunny held a twinkling globe in his hand. "Look at how much Belief has been restored—even the original ones are sparkling twice as brightly!" He shouted jubilantly, and we all cheered.

"I should have mentioned this earlier, but our wings have also stopped shimmering. Both of you, Heather and Kayleigh, are our core Believers. You forgave each other and resolved the conflict." Periwinkle remarked excitedly.

"It does mean it's time for us to say goodbye," Fawn sighed and shook her head. "Two goodbyes in a day is not going to make me sleep well tonight,"

"Don't worry; you'll all be able to return to Pixie Hollow and Neverland soon. We'll definitely contact you sometime in the future. Thanks for all your help," Tink looked at Heather and me with a hand on her heart. "Thank you as well, Aster. Let's hope for a brighter future where Guardians and Fairies can work together again."

"I think we'd all like that very much," Bunny nodded sincerely. "It's amazing what we've achieved in a day. Just think how glorious Spring will be,"

"This has been a dream come true," I looked around Pixie Hollow for a final time that day. "I'll look out for you if you come to visit,"

Heather and I were enveloped in a hug by the fairies, and we pulled Bunny into it.

"Alright, time to get you two home. Your parents must be worried sick!" Bunny shouted. "Let's use a snowglobe."

We bid farewell to the fairies as Bunny smashed the snowglobe onto the ground, where green sprouts of grass had started to grow. "Thanks again, and we'll see you soon!" The fairies shouted, and Heather and I waved a frantic goodbye before we were sucked into the portal.

Epilogue (3rd person POV)

Jamie Bennett put his skates back into his bag for the last time in the season. He looked around—Kayleigh and her little sister, Heather, had been MIA the entire day. The gang had just finished the most interesting Easter Egg hunt; Cupcake said she saw one of Tooth's fairies, and Pippa swore she saw Bunny. Jamie sighed. The gang had gone back home half an hour ago; they were exhausted from the day's events. The sisters had missed out again.

A beam of light blinded Jamie momentarily. He looked around, trying to identify the source, but saw two figures hugging a giant one in the shadows—wait, was that Kayleigh and Heather? Hugging...Bunny? Jamie rubbed his eyes—it was too good to be true.

A flash of red by the lake caught his eye, and he ran to investigate. So many miracles had happened in such a short time, so he waved tentatively at what seemed to be a fairy planting a flower. "Am I dreaming?" Jamie murmured, and the fairy laughed and shook her head.

The boy didn't even notice Kayleigh and Heather approaching him. Kayleigh tapped him on the shoulder. "Is that Rosetta?" She peered from above his head. The fairy seemed to smile and wave at her, and Jamie was snapped out of his trance. "That was quick," she remarked. "Good luck in bringing Spring here!"

Jamie turned around to face the girls. "I take it you both had an adventure of your own,"

"It made up for all the ones we missed," Heather replied thoughtfully. "And we brought back Spring! It's going to be here soon."

"I don't believe you," Jamie replied, raising an eyebrow.

"Nothing's impossible when you meet the Easter Bunny and a couple of fairies. You, of all people, should know," Kayleigh smiled. "Just wait and see,"

Two weeks later, all the ice had thawed, and the flowers were in full bloom.
