Newer leaves are growing

In my Lavender tree this evening

But yet none lifts me up the way you did

To infinite sorrow,

And mountains of glee-

I climb up and up

Yet cannot reach.

For the rain-soaked earth holds me down

Still the sand reaches within;

And desert steps in.

I see mirages of you.........

My feet get stuck by the glue

Helpless, I stand underneath the scorching sun,

With traces of you,

Though you'll never return.
