You Ran Across Two Continents For Food?
When Pietro and Wanda came back, we ran straight back to Sokovia.
Well...not exactly straight back. I did go a little far and grab some pasta for me and the twins. When I made it back to the facility, Pietro was doing push-ups, and Wanda was reading a book. The redhead looked up as I walked in.
"There you are," she said. Pietro stopped and sat on the floor.
"Did you have a good run?" he asked. I nodded and held up the to-go boxes I had brought back.
"And I brought back real food," I told them, sitting on the edge of the bed. I handed one to Wanda. "Italian sausage bow ties." One to Pietro. "Manicotti." I opened mine. "And shrimp scampi." I pointed to the last, smaller box on the bed. "And there's some vanilla and chocolate biscotti in there." The twins grinned.
"You are literally the greatest person I have ever met," Wanda said, scooping up some of the pasta and taking a bite. I laughed.
By the time we finished eating, it was near nine o'clock. Wanda had long since passed out, and I was staring out the small window. I heard footsteps behind me.
"Let's go for a walk," Pietro said. I looked up at him. He had a small smile on his face, and he extended his hand. I took it gently, and he pulled me up off the floor. We ran up to the roof and sat on the ground, leaning back on the ledge, the box of biscotti sitting in front of us.
"I don't know what possessed you to go to Italy to get food," he said, picking up a biscuit, "but I love it." I chuckled.
"Yeah, well, I figured something nice couldn't hurt." He smiled softly.
"You deserve something nice," he said. I looked up at him, blushing madly. I looked at my hands, resting on my knees, but Pietro gently placed one of his hands over mine. I looked into his crystal blue eyes. "You deserve the best." I flipped my hand over and laced my fingers through his.
"I have the best," I whispered. His eyes flickered down to my lips, and I nodded slightly before pressing my lips to his. He cupped my cheek as our lips moved in sync. After a while my lungs burned for air, and I pulled back, staring at the blond Sokovian. He smiled softly.
"I've been wanting to do that," he said. I grinned.
"Me too," I told him. "It almost didn't feel real. Maybe we should try again, make sure it was." He chuckled and kissed me again.
so yeah...this was a SUPER short chapter, but it's so fluffy and cute 🥰
