Chapter 12 [A Red Dragon (+a Vampire) to Join the Party]

>> Edited 2020/08/11

《A/n: I may have messed up my spelling for Odahviing's name (<-- That's how you spell it) so I will go back sometime and edit that ... Enjoy the long chapter》

Reader's POV

"(Y/n)... are you sure you'll be alright?" Hanje tilted her head, unsure about my reassurance.

"Yes Hanje, I'll be okay. Believe me when I say these health potions work." I smiled at her as she checked the capability of my arm movements.

"If you say so (Y/n), just be careful!" She warned sternly, I nodded slowly. Leaving the room and meeting Cicero out in the hall.

"Cicero was worried, dear Listener! You barely ever sound in that much pain!" He said, fists clenched. His brows were set in a deep lock with each other, I give a small smile.

"Yes, well through that experience I picked up the fact that he can bite stronger than normal and... is stronger than before but... that's expected," I spoke with a sigh. "Thank you for your concern Cicero, I should be back in top shape in no time."

I looked at the dented and broken gauntlet in my hand. Alduin's sharp teeth indented in the ebony material. "Geez... Hey Cicero? Wanna come with me back to Skyrim? There were a few things I wanted to get (that I forgot...), and I can go get this," I said holding the ebony gauntlet, "fixed?" The change in topic brought back his persona, lighting up like a torch.

"Oh? Back home?" He cheered happily, "Of course! I can go back and tend to Mother!" He danced around making me chuckle.

"I'll inform the commander... then we can go. Go to your room and collect you things, I'll meet you there when I am done." I directed him, the imperial nodded and he made his way to the said room. I turned on my heel and walked to the commander's office.

I knocked on it. "Come in." He said through the door. I entered with a small salute.

"Ah Cadet (Y/n), is there anything you need?" He asked with a raised eyebrow. (A/n: *cough cough* caterpillar eyebrows xD)

"Yes well, I will be departing back to Skyrim shortly, for a few days, two to three give or take. I will return as soon as I can to aid you all." I informed him.

He nodded in understanding, "Very well. We hope for you to arive back safely." He said.

"Thank you." Turned and walked out of his office, closing the door behind me. Letting out a steady breath as I look up from the ground. I turned and walked towards my shared room to get Cicero.

Durnehviir let out a grumble as Cicero got on the undead dragon's neck behind me. "Deal with it, please," I said as he sent me a glance.

"Zu'u dreh ni laan wah. (I don't want to.)" He replied and took off.

"Fen nii kos pruz voth Serana? (Will it be better with Serana?)" I asked curiously. He looked back at me as we continued towards the portal. I would prefer having Serana at my side than Cicero, not that I have favourites. But when it comes down to abilities, Serana's magic would be very helpful-- along with her Vampiric state.

"Sosnaak? (The vampire?)" He asked remembering the female vampire companion.

"Geh. (Yes.)" I answered simply. He turned his head back infront of us as I slowly leaned my head on his neck. 'Exhausted...' Was the only word that shot through my mind before closing my eyelids.

...

"Qahnaarin... Qahnaarin..."

I stirred from my sleep and raised my head to see the plains of Skyrim. Looking around before slowly dismounting Durnehviir. "Thank you." I patted his neck, he faced me and with a snarky look he blew a small bit of fire at my face. The warmth hitting my face straight on. I scowled and huffed. "I take that back," I groaned, making some sort of laugh come from the dragon's throat.

He disappeared back into the soul cairn leaving me with Cicero. I turned to the red haired male.

"We shall go our separate ways for now." I told him, "You may go care for mother when you get back to the Sanctuary."

"Thank you Listener! You can call for my help any time!" He said happily and walked off towards the Dawnstar Sanctuary.

I grinned slowly, he never changes. "Time to go get this fixed." I murmured, thinking about my broken gauntlet. I headed to the closes hold in the area; which was Markarth. Heading towards the city I soon entered through the large doors.

"Ah the beautiful city of Markarth." I looked around. Nords walking around elves conversing. It was actually a nice day, not including the fire and bandits that run around... and the other flaws. But other than that, it's pretty good.

I walked to the blacksmiths and up the steps. Going up to the anvil and pick up the hammer, starting the repair on my gauntlet.

Staring at my handy work, I placed down the hammer and back up from the blacksmith.

Walking out of Markarth I summoned Arvak. "Hey there, bud." I soothed, jumping onto Arvaks back.

We rode towards Fort Dawngaurd, making it there as the sun was setting. 'Good timing...' I thought as I walked into the large fort, greeted by a warm breeze. I walk forward with my hands placed on my hips, looking around for the vampire.

A grin stretched along my face as I saw her reading and sitting in her usual spot.
She raised her head a smile forming as soon as her eyes saw me.

I approached her and she placed her book next to her. "Hello (Y/n)." She greeted.

"Hello to you too Serana, I was hoping... would you like to follow me? I'm going to be heading back to that world I explained to you about before." I smiled widely as I took off my helm, and held it in my arms.

Serana perked up at the offer, "another adventure I see. Sure, I'll come along gladly." She agreed standing up and stretching her limbs.

I left the fort along with Serana who threw on her hood, and went towards Riften. I bought and sold a few other things as well as dropping by the thieves guild. I entered the inn and payed for a night, "I'll show you to your room. Follow me." The innkeeper led us to the bedroom and walking back down the stairs soon after.

We walked into the nice room. I sat down at the edge of the bed while Serana sat on the chair. "Gonna sleep?" I asked her.

She shook her head, "Well I am a vampire, I don't entirely need sleep as it's not essential to our lives. So I'll be awake, probably reading the few books here or eating downstairs." She said.

"Ah very well... Good night," I told her as I removed my armor, having plain clothes underneath. I layed down on my side having the hide blanket lay over me. I closed my eyes, ready for a restless few hours of sleep. (A/n: ahah, get it? Cause reader may be implying that she's a werewolf. XD)

♤oOOoOOo♤

I yawned as a hand shook my shoulder gently. "Hmm?" I hummed as I cracked one eye open.

Serana had a hand to my shoulder while the other held a plate which I guessed would be food.

"Morning..." I said and sat up, Serana took a step back giving me space to stretch.

"Here, I got you breakfast. I ate already while I let you sleep." She said showing my the plate of food, a baked potato, grilled leeks, a boiled cream treat and I saw glass of water on the bedside table.

"Thank you." I smiled. She smiled back and sat next to me on the bed. I ate in silence, a very nice one really. There were already sounds coming from downstairs from other elfs, Argonians, Kahjit, etc.

I drank the water, finally finish the nice meal then spoke, "I'm gonna beat that dragons ass... once and for all..."

Serana turned her head to look at me, "If we are gonna beat him, should we get some help?" She asked tilting her head to an angle.

I thought for a moment, "Actually possibly, I mean I could probably beat 'em once I could do it again... but after almost getting my arm bit off that would be a good idea." I stated placing my thumb on my chin.

"Wait you almost got your arm bitten off!?" Serana exclaimed, shuffling back on the bed to face me fully.

I let out a nervous laugh, "Heheh yeah... I think I got a bit carried away I didn't dodge in time." I said inching a bit away from her.

She let out a small groan, "It's not so much of your personality as it is your actions that make you cocky, especially when you think you're a god or something..."

"Hey sorry if I think that! I just like to charge in sometimes, then other times sneak around. Or just... walk away..." I said to her and smiled apoligeticly.

She stood up and took the plate and cup. "I'll take these down, you think about those allies we can have." She said and walked out through the door, her footsteps are heard walking down the steps.

"Allies... allies... to help beat Alduin. Oh! Odahviing! I mean... if I have him and both Durnehviir then... I mean it'd be two dragons, the Dragonborn herself and a vampire against the world eater!" I said to myself as I clapped my hands together.

'Good plan... I just hope it will work.' I sighed and stood. Putting on my armor and equipping my two daedric swords. "Good to go?" I asked as Serana walked back into the room.

"I am, let's go." She said. I walked past her and down the steps, Serana right behind me.

"I'm planning to go get Odahviing," I said bluntly not even turning around to Serana as I said the idea.

"The red dragon?" She asked and I nodded.

"Mhm, anyway I think I should give Durnehviir a small break from all the flying." I said to her with a small smile under my daedric helmet.

She nodded, "Okay, if that's what you think. I can go with it."

"Thanks, let's just get a bit away from Riften so I can go call him." I said walking to the wooden gates.

"Od Ah Viing!" I shouted into the sky and past the trees. A loud roar came from south, both me and Serana turned to look in that direction as the ruby and purple dragon flew over and turn a 180 degrees before landing next to us.

"Dovahkiin you are back? Why have you called when there is no one else to... crush." Odahviing said as he tilted his head approaching us. He eyed Serana for a moment before looking back at me.

"Well, to be fairly blunt. We need you to help us against Alduin. He has been resurrected in another realm."

"Alduin? Has returned...?" Odahviing breathed out, "I will aid you in any way I can. However, as I have already betrayed Alduin before, he will not take my presence lightly."

"I am well aware, I vow that I will not allow you to die." I told him, serious. "Also, perhaps... you can teach me a bit more about the Thu'um?" I asked hesitantly.

He turned his head so that he looked at me by one eye. "If it will help, I can."

"Thank you." I said, "We need to return to that world (that I have yet to name). I told them I would return within 2 to 3 days." I muttered loud enough for them to hear, while looking up to the sky.

"Rinik pruzah. (Very well.)" Odahviing said and turned so we can mount him. (A/N: ... O_o . . . Oh xD | Hello, Editing-Me here, wtf younger me.)

I got on, then Serana and Odahviing took off. Once in the air, I looked around and pointed in the direction of the portal. "That way," I told Odahviing.

As we soared Serana looked around at the vast lands. "Wow, this is... beautiful."

"I know, it's lovely." I agreed then paused.

"Just wait, where we're going... is not so much..."
