Chapter 17 [Alduins defeat]

>> Edited 2020/08/19

Reader's POV

"This is it," I mumbled, grabbing the sword and amulet. I put the amulet around my neck with a small 'clank' as it touched the amulet of Mara. I put the sword on my belt, and once it was secure I turned to the Elder Scroll that layed on the bed.

Sun light graced it, making it shine brightly. Pretty to say the least.

A soft knock on the door gained my attention. "Who is it?"

"It's me." Serana peered her head in, a small smile on her lips. "Are you ready?" She asked.

I stayed quiet for a moment, then with a light chuckle I answered; "Yes I am." For a moment, it felt like this was just going to be another outing. Not a dangerous battle which could cost me my life, and many others.

I heard the loud roar of Odahviing and then was accompanied by another. 'Alduin...' My eyes narrowed, Odahviing was forcing Alduin to get closer here.

We managed to agree on a large field to be "allowed" to kill the dragon upon. Which is bullshit if you ask me, but it's gonna happen, I will make sure of it. The storm he would make could destroy everything anyway.

My hand tightened around the sword. Lips pursed in a line. And a bead of sweat ran down my temple.

That's it, Odahviing and Alduin appeared from behind the large walls, Odahviing herding him towards us. Serana smiled reassuringly. I did the same, changing my stance and my eyes stayed glued to Alduins figure. His eyes met mine and he snapped at Odahviing, turning to bite down on his leg, he let a pained cry and snapped back. Jaws not able to pierce through the think scales. The red dragon thrashed in the air, attempting to throw Alduin away.

Alduin had bit down harder, effectively breaking the red dragons leg.

Odahviing flew farther from the World Eater when he was released. Eyes wandering down to his leg, that was severely damaged.

He growled to Alduin, who seemed to laugh at him in return. When Alduin stopped, instead of attacking the traitor he swept down towords us below.

My eyes widened a fraction, managing the shout of Serana to move before I dodged out of the way as he tried to grab her with his jaw. Dust and mud kicked up from his landing. I felt debris stick to my armor.

Sword in my hand I charged at the beast, letting out a cry as I jumped on his back. Digging the blade into his scales untill those scales neared the hilt.

He spun, pushing himself into the air. I struggled to hold on tighter as I almost flew off myself.

"I will kill you!" I gritted my teeth, death grip on the sword.

"You are too cocky for your own good, Dovahkiin."

"Sometimes that can be my downfall, but believe me when I say I don't underestimate you. I know what I am getting into you dumb lizard!"

"Owch," he cackled, "You hurt me." Ignoring the burning sensation from the blade that cut his skin. I didn't let his indifference throw me off, because I could feel the way the blade had sliced under his scales.

I bore the pain and grunted as he threw himself towards the ground once more. Fully prepared to crush me under his weight if I hadn't pulled the blade away and fell from his back.

"I will in moments, hi meyus siigonis (you foolish lizard)." I hissed as Ohdaviing swooped under to catch me.

Alduin roared at the other dragon, anger etched into the primal sound. I apologized for his leg as he dropped me off on the ground.

I cocked the sword in my hand, letting a little confidence in to smirk at my opponent. "It's not over yet."

One glance aways over showed Serana, rushing over prepared with her magic.

Then I heard Odahviing land somewhere behind me with a crash.

Prepared, I ran to Alduin who swung his tail. Quickly, I change direction ducking away to avoid getting hit backwards. In the corner of my eye, the Elder Scroll on my back gleamed, a glare of light brought Alduin's attention.

"Dey!? (A scroll!?)" He said aloud, his wishes of crushing the Dragonborn between his jaws grew larger.

I charged, ebony armor protected me from his flames. A shield I specifically decided to keep on me was summoned in my other hand. Stopping him from biting at me as I bashed it into his jaw. Sending a slash, it cut through the so called invincible scales he proclaimed.

Alduin's rage sparked and grew like wild fire. He shouted to the sky and the storm he called forth brewed, destruction raining down from above.

Those who were watching the one on one battle took shelter for what it was worth, Serana stood her ground knowing now how her spells were basically ineffective to the world eater and decided to protect and defend instead of attack.

She tried using healing spells on Ohdaviing's broken leg, which was more effective than she hoped. But wasn't able to completely heal it before she had to move her attention to other mortals, which became her next priority. Which proved helpful as she tackled one of the officers out of the way of one of the vast rocks that fell from the sky.

I dug my feet into the ground as the tail against my shield was tried to push me back, and something did. Although it was Alduin who head butted my back, grabbing my foot and swinging me up into the sky, he grabbed me again. I shouted in pain.

Lifting my sword to drive it into his skull when he loosened his grip only to bite down twice as hard, I let out a cry.

When I dropped my shield, he would bite down again if I didn't stab him once more. I cursed and nicked a slash on his neck, only slightly, I couldn't penetrate his scales if he kept his grip so tight.

I could finally feel the teeth and fangs through her armor, cutting flesh like cloth and making her bleed out. She let out a shout as the blade fell from her grasp, mind a blur to realize exactly what shout it was.

He let go of her.

But not cause of the shout.

--

Levi picked of the sword, he ran out of the place that sheltered him, if none of those bastards would do something then he would! Ignoring Serana's words he ran towards the dying woman in the jaws of a distracted dragon and picked up the sword that had fallen. When he did he cut deep into Alduin side, right near his neck.

He dropped her with a roar, Levi tossed the sword far from them, and picked up (Y/n) in haste and looked back to Alduin as he went in the same place he tossed the sword. "Vorey gein!? (Another one!?)" He shook his head, muttering a spell that would slowly but would still heal him and get him to kill the Dovahkiin faster. "Dovahkiin Zu'u vaat wah krii hi ahrk daar meyarnu joor! (Dragonborn I will kill you and this selfless mortal!)"

She muttered incoherently for a moment before letting out shaky breaths, "Levi..." She muttered tugging at his dirtied sleeve, "H-He's- ah!" She was cut off, sucking in a breath she tensed before her muscles completely relaxed, her breathing going quieter.

Levi looked down at her in a panic, before his eyes met Alduin's, "What did you do?" Eyes glaring hard at the dragon.

"Stealing her life force of course," he laughed. His wounds slowly healing, he stretched his wings for a few minutes before his posture faltered.

Levi looked down to the female in his arms when he saw the amulet around her neck glow dimmed and slowly graduate to a brighter shine, the light slowly engulfed her image, it tingled to her. It was warm, like a hug, yet not quite. Then she noticed the pain numbed untill she felt no pain whatsoever.

When the light returned to the amulet and it stopped it's magic glow, (Y/n) leaned up, her body completely healed while she heard Alduin screech in pain, when she looked over, he was bleeding, more than before. She stared, not sure if she felt any sympathy for him or not.

"Fos lost hi drehlaan, Dovahkiin!? (What have you done, Dragonborn!?)"

The shorter male helped the Dovahkiin up, (Y/n) looked to him, eyes thanking him for a brief second before she picked up her sword; her shield would have to wait.

Alduin writhed in pain, his head snapping to (Y/n) when he leapt to her, flapping his wings and delved down and breathed flames down towards her.

"Alduin, your destruction stops now." She said lowly as he flew by her, she jumped and swung her sword sideways, driving the blade to cut through him as he passed. Without so much as a roar he crashed into the ground, his dovah blood gushed through like a river.

"This is my end? To bleed to death without so much as biting a limb of the Dovahkiin." He said, bits of amusement, sadness, and disappointment laced his quiet deep voice. And (Y/n) heard, she walked to where his head layed, his eye met hers and they exchanged something, she let his words process, and her eyes didn't show pity, they were bright with pride and Alduin noticed. He noticed, and he laughed with his head slightly lifted.

"Perhaps I will meet someone with your blood in a future world." He layed his head back on the ground, she watched at he examined every move. He was close to death, it was fast approaching and they both knew it. She shouted clear skies, the storm that ruined most of the land faded, slowly.

"Krii zey, Dovahkiin. (Kill me, Dragonborn.)"

She walked to his neck, his eyes followed her and she lifted the sword with two hands, she let out a cry as she cut through his neck as hard as she could, using all her strength and beheaded the world eater.

When she looked over to his head, his scales, muscles, skin and all were being brought up to the sky, most likely back to their home lands. It looked as if he was grinning at her, (Y/n) didn't know if he was laughing at her- mocking her- or proud of her.

"I'll never know..." She looked to the sky where his essence was being carried. "Maybe it's better that way." She holstered the sword and took her helm off, letting her (H/c) hair loose in the gentle breeze after so much chaos. She pulled the Elder Scroll, opening it, she pursed her lips, 'A seal to keep his soul back in Skyrim...'

Levi watched as she focused over the Scroll, hearing incoherent words from where he sat. The Elder Scroll gave a glow and then what remained of Alduin vanished.

The damage will be a pain to repair, but now the world eater will no longer be a problem. She turned to Levi, who sat on a stump with an unreadable face, she smiled at him and approached him slowly.

"Thank you, for what you did, I kinda owe you my life now." She let out a soft laugh. "Now that Alduin is gone, there are other things to focus on."  She watched as his lips formed the tiniest of smiles and hers grew.

"Just don't pester me with your gratitude," he mumbled. Odahviing made his way slowly to them, nuzzling (Y/n) and congratulated her win against Alduin.

"Let me take a look at your leg Odahviing." She said, walking around him. She crouched down and examined his. The bite marks were deep, he lost quite some blood from it but he lived. Serana's work already proved to help stop the bleeding in the first place. She put her hands out, healing him with a restoration spell.

"Nox hi, Dovahkiin. (Thank you, Dovahkiin.)" She nodded with a smile.

"Of course, you did lose a lot of blood but you will be fine with recovery."

Levi stood, without a word he left as other emerged from hiding to speak with (Y/n).

As the Dragonborn talked to the vampire she watched from the corner of her eye as Levi dissappeared into the building.

'I should talk to him later...' She made a mental note.

《A/n: I feel like a bitch for not updating this long, I hope you enjoyed nonetheless! I tried a bit harder on this chapter, and I hope it suck ass. Anyway this is not the end! There are maybe a few more chapters and perhaps a epilogue. ;3

Ciao~!》

A/n 2020/08/19 - Wow so, part of this chapter was really tough cause I had to convert a lot of the first half to first person cause past-me was inconsistent with pronouns. So there's that. It's very hard to write fighting (for me) in first person so I may go back and make a lot of it third person (but I am quite tired right now with editing)
