Chapter 18 [A Little Confession]
>> Edited 2020/08/27
Reader's POV
I sighed as I laid back down onto the bed. Exhaustion took over my body as I relaxed onto the soft mattress. The door opened and Serana entered with a tray filled with food. I'd guess it was for both of us.
"Tired?"
"Very much so, I slept for what? Four hours? And I'm still sleepy, I just went to go use the bathroom."
"Well you should eat, then continue to rest. How are you injury-wise?"
I hummed, staring at the ceiling, "sore, but not really in pain."
"Good," she replied as she placed the tray on the small table, standing next to the chair she sorted through each piece of food. She walked over to my bedside table and placed the plate down.
"Thanks, mom." I rolled my eyes with a smile as I took the plate off the table. She laughed with the shake of her head.
She paused suddenly, a look of remembrance crossed her expression and she asked, "so, what are you gonna do with the Elder Scroll?"
I pursed my lips to a line. "That's... a good question."
I looked down the the glop that you're suppose to call soup in the small bowl on my plate, next to it was a small slice of meat and less stale looking bread.
"Hey, this actually seems like a decent meal. Like-- ah-- better then what's normally served. And there's meat!" I looked up at Serana. "How'd you get this? I doubt they served this to everyone."
Serana smiled, a gleam of slyness in her eyes. "Well~ there was a certain person who asked for you to have a better quality meal rather then the normal since you defeated the dragon threat." I stared in confusion as she continued. "Well, that's what Hange told me at least." She shrugged, although her eyes said anything but casual of the gesture.
I rose a brow as she went to go sit down at the table. "Who exactly was this?" Perhaps I shouldn't have asked.
She grinned, cat-like. "Le-vi." She watched as my expression change. One more, flustered I suppose.
"O-Oh..."
She chuckled as she bit into her food. Instantly spitting it out. "Ugh what was I thinking, human food." I heard her mutter. Then my eyes widen, I leaned forward concerned.
"Right! Do you need blood right now? How long have you gone without it?" She looked to me with a blank face. With a dismissive shrug she looked back to the plate of food.
"You can have my food if you're still hungry." She said, offering it out to me.
"I know that human food doesn't really appeal to you... do you want this?" I summoned a fairly large bottle, the red liquid swirling around as I moved it in a circular motion. I felt my flustered feeling from earlier disappear under the pleased happiness at seeing Serana light up.
"Y-You have those?" She gasped quietly.
I nodded my head. "Of course, I come prepared. Well, you know, even if I may not be a vampire." (A/n: sorry if you are... xP)
She stood and walked over to me, looking at the bottle in my grasp she looked at me once more as she reached out her hands. I smiled and placed the bottle filled with blood into her palms.
"Thanks."
I grinned, " 's nothing." She went to sit back down as I turned my attention back to the food in my lap. I dug in greedily, savoring the piece of meat that I received, since I didn't really keep meat on me.

I stretched after I stood from the bed. I saw the sun setting through the window, and even if it was getting late-- I just awoke from a nice rest. I summoned a small potion of healing into my hands and popped open the top, drinking the healing liquid before placing down on the table.
With the quick switch of my clothing I glanced at Serana, who laid down with her eyes shut, although I already knew she was actually awake; I let her be.
I stepped outside, a shiver running through me as the chilled air touched my (pale/tan/dark/etc) skin.
I stretched back, the irritating feeling that your muscles just don't want to cooperate.
I went to my favorite spot-- well I guess it's just a nice spot. Walking up stairs to the open rooftop... or balcony. I can never really tell... breathing the fresh cool air as the chill pinched at my nerves. Two days of recovery and I felt confined! I let out some sort of noise that was a mix of a groan and a dying animal. As I stopped I laughed at the noise I made.
"God, that noise was ugly." I chuckled to myself as I calmed myself down. I took a deep breath and continued. "Didn't expect you to find me, so fast anyway." I turned around to grin at Levi with closed eyes. "I'm to aware now a days to be snuck up on!"
"Why are you up here now?"
I rolled my eyes with the crossing of my arms. "Well... for one, I wanted fresh air... I just felt confined ya know? I don't stay inside for such long periods of time... unless it's part of a quest or I'm exploring some place."
"Right, you're basically the opposite of most."
"And what makes you say that?" I feel my grin falter, sincerely hoping that he didn't mean that as an insult.
"You travel around the outside world when you know of the dangers, and you come back into some sort of safety alive- maybe injured yet still breathing... We don't have that luxury here."
I looked down, frowning. "You really know how to change a mood don't you? Well, I do in fact know of the things that are out there... but even if I don't die," I let out a breathless laugh before I continued. "Even if I don't die... many others I know and have known do. You know? Friends and stuff."
"Do you have a family?"
I rose a brow at the question, he seemed less tense then normal today to be asking such out of character things.
I replied, "no. No I didn't, at least- I don't really know... I woke up one day in a carriage being pulled to a place called Helgan, where I would then be executed for trespassing, even though I don't remember such things, just my name, my race, and what I look like."
"Race?"
"Ah yes, you're different here than us. Perhaps I should bring a friend next time as an example of how different we are in Skyrim, not that it's a bad thing! But you know... it's cool..." I trailed off, not really knowing how to continue.
Levi rolled his eyes, and I shuffled uncomfortably in the awkward silence.
"Oh yes. I never got really thank you for how grateful I am on what you did... you saving my life from being crushed and all." I paused, looking to the darkening sky and took a deep breath. "Might as well tell you what I said all those nights ago... right?"
I turned to watch Levi lean against the stone wall, staring back at me in what I guessed was confusion and anticipation.
I looked down, pursed lips moved to speak. "Well... Zu'u lorot Zu'u med hi, means... I think I like you..." I mumbled, then stupidly I continued to ramble. "Well now I know it's not just an "I think I like" anymore but more of I know I do and I like you a lot and-- oh shit am I saying to much? Cause I normally do that when I'm nervous about something-- I just seem to talk to myself a lot when I am alone in a cave or something and I don't like the silence for to long of a time so I-- mmph!" My head was turned as Levi crushed his lips onto mine, his eyes closed while mine were stuck open in shock.
When he pulled away, I felt my face flush in embarrassment and yet I still managed a sheepish grin.
"You don't shut up sometimes do you?"
I shook my head as I hugged him tightly, seeing him tense before his arms hesitantly wrapped around my torso. "So... do you return those feelings or did you just want to shut me up?"
I knew he was smirking when he replied, "a little bit of both."
