SKIP IF YOU'D LIKE: (JUST I THOUGHT I HAD WITH ROSARIA & KAEYA)

(Rosaria comforting/accepting Kaeya after hearing of (his bloodline) him being from khaenri'ah)

She finds out during one of their talks together they ever rarely have due to work.

————

It happened one evening night while the rain was pouring as well as Kaeya having the worst day possible.

As Kaeya walked through the streets of Mondstadt...his feet had led him to Angel's Share.

He was hesitant...hesitant to even lay a hand on the door to the tavern.

What if the traveler happened to be there?

What if they had found Kaeya on this state even after hearing of his very bloodline.

Would they come to hate and despise him?

Even if he was originally a spy...he was no longer one in his heart.

He only yearned and wished for a family...all he really had left to even call home was Diluc's Dawn Winery.

Even then, he never really felt welcome anymore even by his adopted brother.

And as these thoughts flooded his mind...he suddenly heard faint laughter within the tavern which drew his attention away from such heavy thoughts.

He shook his head, just for a moment as he placed his best smirk he always wore for everyone and anyone.

The look he gave as though to show he was in good spirits no matter the situation...a lie but..at this point it was all he had.

Even if his smirk, smile or laugh was fake.

He'd get through the rest of the day with a drink in hand that would slowly melt away his thoughts and worries...just as he always did after working days.

So he took a step forward and entered into Angel's share.

Once he closed the door behind him, Kaeya couldn't help but share eye contact with the first person he came across with after entering Angel's Share soaked to the bone from the rain.

From the far corner of the tavern..Rosaria had kept her gaze fixed on Kaeya in a concerned manner.

The piercing cold yet concerned and slightly warm eyes of Rosaria seemed to hold their sight on him at very move as though she wished to speak with him.

As Kaeya grabbed his usually he headed over as she turned her head away for him for just a moment to catch the words she didn't want to slip out.

To Rosaria...she knew Kaeya wasn't alright, not in the slightest.

She wished in some way...she could help him.

"So, rough day?" Was all she could muster up without sounding too weird.

"Come now, why so worried for me? I'm still alive aren't I?"

"Just alive isn't enough. And you know it. So tell me, what's bothering you?"

"Nothing."

"Something is bothering you, tell me." Her eyes took ahold of Kaeya's again as he looked back for a second.

"Why are you so hooked on knowing what's bothering me Rosaria. It's unlike you~ Unless you've just had too many drinks?"

"No, it's not that. But this isn't about me."

"Now, now. You've cause some curiosity from me now~"

"First off, i heard a small rumor going around and...I think it may or may not be true."

"Yes?"

"But before I say that you can't leave this table once I tell you. Neither for the first or second thing that I'm planning and going to tell you."

"Promise~"

She gave a cold glare at Kaeya as he relaxed his tense feet that were ready to run from this very table he had promised not to leave from.

To ease his nerves further he had taken a few sips of his wine as he waited for Rosaria to continue.

"Are you...from or have any attachment to Khaenri'ah? Although whatever your answer is...I won't think of you any less."

"It's true. My bloodline connects me to that place."

Rosaria's next expression of surprise seemed unforeseen even by her.

"Wow, sorry...I thought you'd really beat around the bush on that one. But seems I was wrong."

All Kaeya could do was look in his reflection in his drink as he swirled the wine around the brim of his cup.

"So...aren't you going to tell me what a monster I am...being that I'm from the fallen kingdom of Khaenri'ah?...you know...if everyone knew they'd come to hate me just as my own brother has." Tears brimmed the now not so sober Kaeya as Rosaria lifted from her seat.

"Then I'll be here by your side the whole time...that's my secret to you Kaeya."

"What do you mean? What are you telling me?"

Rosaria's hands made their way atop Kaeya's shoulders as she placed her forehead to his.

They, at that moment were in their own little world.

"Don't be afraid Kaeya. Don't think you're so alone. No one hates you and no one will ever come to despise you....not when we love you so much."

And it had seemed like the right moment for Rosaria to confess her feelings until Diluc walked past just as confidence had built in her.

"You mean when 'you' love him so much." But before Diluc left entirely, his hand had patted Kaeya's head. But also just deflated Rosaria's confidence.

"Don't worry, as your younger adoptive brother I've never truly hated you...just disagreed with your methods is all. So don't beat yourself up too much. It's unlike you."

And as Diluc took steps away from Rosaria and Kaeya he made one last comment.

"Also, stop being so down. You're making certain people worry way too much."

He referred to Rosaria as Kaeya's eyes widened.

"You-"

"We're not going there." A blush appeared on Rosaria's face as she pushed Kaeya away.

"But you-"

"This conversation is over. I'm leaving." She put down mora as tip for the bartender before leaving as she had a puppy dog-like Kaeya right behind her.

"You look pathetic right now."

She cold-glared Kaeya as he smirked a natural and real smirk of both happiness and amusement.

"Does Rosaria find it hard to admit her feelings? Are you perhaps...well I don't know, let's say...embarrassed?"

Rosaria was just happy to see Kaeya back on his feet.

But she wasn't planning on telling him how she felt any time soon due to Diluc's little comment.
