after we safely got off the giant swing set, we made our way around the park, searching for another ride.

i was mesmerized by how she moved around, her attention being directed to a new thing every moment.

i didn't want this to end.

she stopped abruptly, and raised her head, staring at the massive ferris wheel. 

oh god.

i was not a fan of heights.

but if it made her happy, i would do anything.

"let's go," i stated as she dragged me to the line up.

we handed the man our tickets and entered the flimsy basket that would hold us.

my palms started sweating as i sat across from her, struggling to put my seat belt on.

"are you okay, cole?"

i could barely manage a nod.

the metal groaned as we made our way to the top of the wheel.

i was going to pass out.

the ferris wheel stopped at the top and that's when i lost it.

my lungs felt full of water and i gasped for air, trying to undo my seat belt.

i squirmed, the basket shaking.

i needed to get out.

"cole!"

anxiety filled up my head as i did my best to figure out how to get off this ride. 

i couldn't think straight.

unlikely situations and unforeseen consequences exploded in my brain.

olivia started mumbling to herself, but all i could make out was "panic attack."

"cole, look at me." 

i slowly raised my head and looked into her blue eyes.

i still couldn't breathe.

"listen to my voice."

i could hear my blood pulsating, but through all the chaos i managed to look her in the eyes.

and i didn't want to look away.
