Kai shivers and wraps a blanket around himself. Rubbing his reddening nose, Kai stumbles into the living room, sinking onto the sofa and laying down, curling up into a ball. Kai pulls the blanket tighter around his body as his shivers become more prominent. Kai's cheeks pale as he shivers harder, his entire body shaking from the cold. Kai reaches out and wraps his shaking fingers around a tissue box, lifting it and bringing it into his mini blanket cocoon. Sniffling, Kai sneezes into a tissue, his body shaking. Whimpering, he stuffs his arms into the blanket and squeezes his eyes shut, hating being ill.

"Kai?"

Kai's eyes snap open at the sound of his earth ninja. Looking around, Kai's eyes land on the slightly blurry boyfriend. Kai shakily extends his hand to Cole, a soft whimper escaping his lips as he sniffles. Cole's eyes soften as he walks over and sits next to Kai, gently taking his hand and squeezing it. Kai sniffles and wipes his nose with a tissue.

"Hey precious...do you not feel very well?"

Another soft whimper escapes Kai's lips as he shakes his head, reaching out to Cole with his free hand. Cole gently picks him up, placing the smaller on his lap. Kai snuggles into Cole's chest, attempting to seek warmth and comfort. Cole holds the younger still on his lap, cradling his head against his chest and places a gentle hand on his forehead.

"You're burning up sweetheart," Cole murmurs gently, holding the smaller safely and tightly in his arms.

Kai whimpers and wraps his shaking fingers inside Cole's shirt, with the intention of not letting go. Cole hushes him and gently places Kai back on the sofa.

"No no," Kai whimpers, reaching desperately for the older, craving to be in his arms again.

"Hey...I'm going to get you another blanket. You want one, right?"

Kai nods shakily, pushing his arms back into the blanket that is already wrapped around his body. Cole plants a gentle kiss on his forehead before sprinting out of the living room and into their room, snatching the blanket off the bed. Looking on his side of the bed, a familiar panda plushie sits between the pillows, the white slightly discoloured. Picking it up, Cole runs out of their room and back down to his sick boyfriend.

The fire ninja's eyes are now full of tears, his body shaking and shivering. Cole's heart shatters.

"Baby...hey, hey...I'm here now."

Kai's head snaps up and he reaches desperately for Cole, shakily repeating, please. Cole sits back down on the sofa and opens his arms for Kai, allowing the shorter to curl up in his arms and cling to him. Kai curls up, bringing his legs underneath him and wraps his fingers in Cole's shirt. Cole makes sure his grip on Kai is nice and tight, helping the younger feel safe and secure. Kai's eyes avert to the panda plushie in Cole's hands. He slowly lets go of the taller's shirt and shakily reaches his hands out, wrapping his fingers around the toy and pulling it to his chest when Cole loosens his grip. Cole chuckles quietly and plants a kiss on Kai's head.

Cole blinks his eyes open as the covers shuffle yet again. Looking to his left, he feels his heart break. Kai is shuffling around and shaking as well as turning, desperate to get some sleep. Cole sits up and rubs his eyes.

"Babe?"

Kai jumps and sits up, looking desperately at Cole. Cole's eyes soften and his heart shatters.

"Do you wanna sleep on me?"

Kai nods rapidly and reaches for him, repeating, please. Cole hushes him and picks the younger up before laying back down, placing Kai on top of himself. Kai curls up on Cole's bare chest, grabbing both his hands with his shaking ones. Cole hushes him and produces a soft melody, smiling once Kai's eyes flutter closed and his ragged breathing somewhat evens out.

"Sleep well my little koala."
