Chapter 57 | September 16th | Funeral Mornings

Timeline - September 16th | (2 Days Later)

"Come on," Eko coyly laughed, holding her spoon and taking a mouthful of her yoghurt. She stared at Matthew curiously with a raised eyebrow; he woke up in a very mischievous mood that morning.

With the cafeteria alive for the day's mammoth event, the soldiers around them ensured they were prepared for the funerals that would take place in a few hours.

Eko, on the other hand, had found herself waking up that morning to the man she had fallen asleep with last night again. Nothing was quite enthralling as being awoken to the glorious man and hearing the sweet sounds of him unravelling against an orgasm as she gave him the height of pleasure.

Two could play that game, her mind mused, and even if he hadn't begged for it that morning, it did mean that he would come searching for it. Eko knew he could find her after the funeral to banish the ever-consuming sexual appetite that seemed to have taken hold of their lives.

Staring at those magnanimous blue steel, she found it even more tantalizing that he had met her back in the cafeteria after she left him that morning to get changed into fresh clothes.

Breakfast waiting, she met this cocky, beautiful, mouthed man, staring at her as though he would consume her. How he made her feel like she was the only person in his universe was deeply unnerving but not something she considered for a moment to take on board. It was sex, purely mind-blowing, orgasmic, consuming, world-shattering sex.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Eko leaned forward cheekily. It would always be a dangerous question to ask in a crowded room like that.

Far off in the distance, she, however, saw the rest of his friends enter the cafeteria, which meant that their game was going to be on hold. It would be back to being their secretive game they played against each other, and she swore she would have him buckle and submit to her before the day ended.

His eyes must have noticed the same thing, for he waved towards Jesse, Jasmine, and Richie, that made their way along to them.

"Because you are beautiful," was the first thing he said to her question, drawing her towards him. "Because I can look at you like that," he offered, and she radiated in that smile. "Because I know what you sound like at the height of pleasure."

Eko laughed loudly, "you're a cocky man." Waving about her spoon, "but I can see the allure with your fan club." Then she gently placed the yoghurt into her mouth. The white texture against his lips, and she sucked her bottom lip slowly at him.

"Not cocky, confident- plus," he winked, his voice above a whisper, "you love the sex."

He smiled as he drew the coffee cup to his lips, the hustle of the cafeteria washed around them as they sat opposite one another, and their friends were near them.

"Tell me why you're looking at me like that?" Eko pressed firmer then before.

Mathew's eyes studied her own, and she did it again without realizing it. Taking the yoghurt to her lips, she sucked on it, and he swore she was oblivious for once at how alluring she was, how much of a sexual being she was that morning.

What he wouldn't give to have those lips wrapped around his cock again.

"Matthew?"

"All I can think right now is you licking my cock like it's that fucken yoghurt, Eko. Stop it."

"And?" Sucking the spoon. Cross that; his mind lulled. She fucken knew exactly what she was doing to him.

"Because. I. Want. To."

Eko could only smile towards the man with steel-blue eyes, the man that had her entire attention unlike anyone had before in her life. And just like that, the table shifted when Jesse sat beside Matthew, talking nonstop, and Jasmine and Richie filled the table with the preparations they needed to do in half an hour.

The cafeteria was alive with chatter, yet when Eko brought her spoon to her mouth, she noticed the small heavenly smile on Matthew's lips.

It was just misery that this was the only form of joy she would feel today.

—-- ——-

"Seraphina- end of discussion. We are to stay together. I have told you that I am not letting you out of my sight, nor will you stay in this life of violence. We've gone through enough. How many more times are we having this discussion? You have been relentless with this when the decision has been made."

"Mads," Eko moaned, lying across the infirmary bed. She was ignored as her cousin struggled to fit into her black dress for the funeral that morning. Thankfully, Jesse and Mya had lent them some of their clothing for their event.

"I want to stay, and you'll only be at Sea-tac."

"You are infatuated with him." Madison scoffed. "It's written all over your features. Do not think I am stupid not to see where you have been disappearing at night."

Eko bolted up, half laughing, and half utterly embarrassed, watching as Madison struggled with her back zipper before her skinny, tiny hands grasped the edge of it and pulled it up the rest of the way.

"Besides," Madison continued brushing her dress down her legs, "once we are on Sea-tac, we can move about as want. A soldier confirmed that once we were there, we were free to do as we please."

"What's your plan exactly?" Eko cocked her head.

"We are not held captive at Seatac, and there will be available transport to Mein. The King and Prince will help us."

"Captive. Jesus," Eko moaned as she fell back to the bed and rolled her eyes. "We're not captive, you daft idiot, and I told you I am done with that. I do not want to be the stupid future Queen of the two worlds."

Madison turned on her heel, for she knew her cousin had had tremendous grief to deal with the past few days. With the loss of her mother and a home that housed both good and bad memories, she truly believed that she was also on a self-destructive path. Sera often showed the same characteristics as she always did when she lost control.

Madison had seen the pattern too many times not to recognize it now. Her cousin sets out to kill monsters; she picks fights with those other no-good warriors. She finds a random person to get her kicks on with, denies the throne, and then forces herself to feel anything that doesn't relate to the fear she felt in her core.

This time it was exceptionally worse because there was no home to return to, and she had managed, for the time, to give away her throne, allowing the districts to believe that 'she' was, in fact, dead.

Their enemies brought her closer to destroying Ezra, and she was more volatile because of the fights with those warriors. Then above all, the one random person she managed to get her kicks on with will most likely, as it appeared, encourage her self-destructive attitude on the war.

Madison truly believed in her core that she had to get Sera away from Allegiant, away from the war's deaths and harshness. If they just got to Mein, if she just recuperated from all the loss she felt, then she would think clearly and be able to breathe.

That's all that was needed, and she swore she would make sure that happened.

"We'll discuss this after." Madison abolished the conversation.

Sitting up onto her elbows, hoping her pinned bun hadn't fluffed out of its position. Eko stared at the dainty black dress she had been wearing, swaying her feet before her, disinterested in anything else that could be said.

What she wouldn't give to go back even four hours ago; she wanted to be back in that cafeteria with Matthew and his friends, laughing at something Jasmine said about her latest boyfriend.

Then somehow, as time passed, Madison found them at breakfast, and Jesse and Mya obliged to help them with their funeral outfits for the event.

Now... Now it was an hour left till she had to say goodbye to her mother, and she wasn't prepared for that. She wasn't prepared for how it would rip her heart out.

Eko looked up at Madison. "What if I can convince them to let you stay? Then we can stay-Okay?"

"No." Madison shook her head firmly without any more reasoning, pushing another bobby pin into her bun, the same that Eko had done to her hair.

"Please, be reasonable."

"Seraphina, enough!" Madison snapped, turning to the younger woman, "we are heading to Sea-tac and then to Mein. The further we are away from here, the better. Ezra might still want us dead."

"I think she thinks we've all been killed off, to be honest." Eko rolled her eyes again, unimpressed.

"Don't!" Madison threatened, "we're out of here tomorrow. No more discussing this. She wants you- therefore, she will be after us. I will not let your fate be like your mother's."

Eko puffed out, annoyed as she fell back to the bed, Madison pulled her back to the thoughts of her mother once again, and she tried to banish those unwelcoming memories.

The truth was that she was a woman that tried her absolute best to raise her after her father and brother died during the first invasion. She wasn't the most adjusted or greatest person from that day, but she tried her best with an awfully cold heart. All the love in her bones disappeared when her world rose in flames.

She forgot she had a daughter that needed her; Eko understood later in life that she was wrapped up in her grief. The only thing that pulled her from her bed after months of being comatose was the need for revenge. The very same that took control of her life.

It is why others around Eko had raised her instead, knowing the Queen's grief. Still, she wanted to say goodbye to her. She wished she was there for her mother in her final moments, telling her that she loved her and forgave her for those choices.

Eko wished their life never turned out as it had, but it was like what Matthew said in one of their conversations. It's happened- it's what we do next that determines what will define us.

Her mother's decision defined the life she took, and Eko did not want that to define her. She wanted to be happy and be released from those expectations that dictated her as Queen. She wanted to choose freedom and every simple choice that came with that.

She wanted to choose if she wanted to be a soldier at Allegiant or a school teacher at a local school. Maybe even a simple baker in a local village, meet some boy, fall in love, and live a life as pure and simple as she dreamt of.

Just because destiny decided her life was bigger than that didn't mean she had to follow it; it didn't mean that she agreed with it.

Exhaling once more, she could hear Madison talking relentlessly about the plan once they arrived at Seatac and how they would get to Mein.

"-so that cargo ship arrives at 18:00, and from there it would be around a thirty-six-hour ride, unfortunately, to the next district-Mein is in the second district, past Jupiter..."

For fuck's sake, it was the most boring conversation she had yet; who cared about how they got there?

Eko actually prayed that Madison stuffed it up so badly that they ended up lost for months, and they would choose a planet to settle down on eventually. Her mind continued to drift into the next chain of thoughts, torturing Ezra; a salacious grin appeared.

The daydreaming brunette didn't hear when Madison had finished speaking, nor that she was staring at her. Unexpectedly Eko then felt a slap on her leg, and it jolted her forward, brows furrowing at Madison.

"What was that for?"

"It's time," Madison announced, bringing Eko back to reality, yet the loud groans followed only as she forced herself up from the bed.

Eko was never going to be ready for this; she wasn't prepared to say goodbye to her mother or Allegiant. Following Madison out of the infirmary room, her eyes dulled, and the life almost zapped out of her bones; it was time she sucked it up and did the one thing she had feared doing.

OH bbbabbbesss... have a heart and vote...... she's like this because you killed her mother with your non voting....
