Just so you know, this isn't all rewritten, just up to the ~~~, which I will be deleting after you guys finish reading this. Part of it is similar, but I just rewrote it. And I like this version soooooo much better. So enjoy :)

Marisa and Jackson gaped, Rafe sadly nodding her head. They thought one of the three would die, if anybody, but the magic had gotten somebody, somebody that wasn't near any danger, or at least they thought.

"How'd it happen?" Jackson asked.

"Just like Jessica," Damien spoke up. He was in the back, so none of the other students expected him to explain. "The room got dark, and he heard a slight scream and when we could see again he was dead."

"But why Fox?" Fletcher asked. "Why Jessica?" The others shrugged.

"Maybe whoever killed them didn't like them," Trevor suggested, not sure.

"You didn't happen to say anything in the attic, did you?" Rafe asked, curious. "Anything that might have aggravated the magic?"

Marisa gulped. They had said something, but they didn't think that it had anything to do with Fox's murder. It couldn't have. "Well, yes," Marisa started. "But it didn't sound like what I said before! Nothing!"

"Right," Damien whispered. He came closer to them, but before he could contradict Marisa, Jackson spoke up.

"Before you blame her, I just want to say that I said the curse. She volunteered to risk her own life and I had to curse her the same way we did on the first day we got here, and Fletcher said the counter curse. Marisa barely made it out alive, so I think that you should get off her case a little."

Marisa was stunned by his words, for he was the one that yelled at her when he found out that she had unleashed the magic. She would have never expected him to stand up for her. Damien shut his mouth, going further back in the group.

"You really did, Marisa?" Ella asked, wearing an apologetic face. "You really risked your life? For them?" She suddenly felt bad for yelling at her earlier.

She nodded, and Teony, who was still needing support from Raven, stood up by herself, smiling. She knew Marisa had it in her, and she was glad that the others saw it now. Raven let go of Teony but put her hand on her shoulder, being a little taller than her. ~~~

There was a small silence, until Trevor spoke up. "What does it say?" When he didn't get a response, he clarified. "The note?"

Fletcher nodded and pulled it out of his pocket, ready to read it aloud. But when he opened his mouth, he realized nothing was written on it. Just a picture, a picture that reminded Fletcher of the tapestries seen around the school.

"What does that mean?" Ella asked, confused on what a sheet of cloth could do with clues.

But Teony knew instantly. "I think it means that we have to find it somewhere in the academy." She blurted out, and the others were surprised by her sudden outburst, since they wouldn't have thought that she would be talking so soon after Fox's death, considering how little she normally talked. But they looked at her in awe as well.

"Brilliant!" Damien exclaimed. He went over to Fletcher and asked to see the picture. He handed it to him, and Damien examined it, trying to memorize what it looked like then showing it to the others. Marisa and Jackson were the last to see it, and Jackson held it once Marisa was done.

"Okay then," He started. "we shouldn't waste anymore time, now should we?" The others agreed and they started heading out down one of the hallways, for they were more familiar with the school by then.

"This is like a deadly scavenger hunt," Rafe muttered. She started to rush to the front but Trevor pulled her and Fletcher back, not explaining anything and trying to do it in a way that the others wouldn't notice. When they got to the back alongside Ella they all kept a normal pace, and he started whispering.

"When I ask you this you have to be one hundred percent honest with me. And I am asking you because I trust all of you." Everybody nodded. "Okay... Did any of you kill Fox?"

Ella's mouth and eyes widened. "You know I wouldn't! Fox was my friend, so was Jessica!"

Rafe motioned for her to keep her voice down, and started talking and signing, trying to look casual at the same time. "Why would you ask that? I trust you three more than anybody else here, none of us would murder anybody."

"I know," said Trevor. "I just want to make sure."

"I understand," Fletcher replied. "it's hard to trust anyone anymore. After Fox, we know that it couldn't have been Jessica, Rum, him or Mr. Barla, which means it has to have been one of us."

"Just promise me," Trevor asked. Rafe nodded and even beamed a little, which was rare for her, or really anyone, after the recent events but she couldn't help it. She was happy she could finally trust people and that she had friends in that hell disguised as an academy. Ella and Fletcher agreed as well, and they turned back forward and walked normally and hoped that nobody overheard.

It felt like it took forever. None of the tapestries seemed to match the one on the picture, and soon people got frustrated. They had already navigated in and out of the academy just to find one clue, and to find another seemed like torture. The students were tempted to split up but decided against it, seeing how it turned out every other time they did.

It seemed impossible.

Raven quickened her pace, hoping to spot something of value. She didn't like splitting up from the rest of the group so she tried to stay next to Marisa and Jackson while they searched every room, but as they got to their hundredth-as Raven saw it-room, she couldn't stand it any longer. She felt something off, deep in her gut, but she couldn't exactly put her finger on what it was.

And it drew her closer to the other side of the hall.

She checked to see if Marisa and Jackson were looking, which they weren't, and she started to creep out of the doorway. Her feet suddenly started moving faster, even though she didn't command them to, and they lead her to a room a few doors down.

It was an almost empty room. There were pieces of wood lying around that were half painted, and a few paint cans that were stained with paint that looked remarkably fresh. Raven assumed that this was an unfinished room but it still felt off. She slowed down, taking note of each and every brushstroke and piece of dust in the room, sure not to miss a thing. She picked up the scraps, looking for markings or paintings.

Then suddenly, she heard a sound.

Whining.

Raven's head bolted up, startled by the noise. She looked around, but didn't see anybody. Then it happened again. She grabbed a piece of wood and held it up like a baseball bat, trying to look brave even if she was scared inside. She felt a breeze run across her shoulder, and she dropped the scrap right back onto the ground.

Her eyes widened as a black cloud formed in front of her, and the whining continued, until suddenly a face formed. And it was screaming.

She was terrified, not knowing what to do as the darkness lunged at her, then suddenly went away like it was never there. But it was, and that's all she could think about.

"Raven?"

Raven shrieked, not realizing who the voice belonged to at first. When she felt a hand touch hers, pulling her around from the back, she came eye to eye with a worried Teony.

"What are you doing here? Why did you split up?" Teony didn't seem terrified, but Raven was, still in shock. She knew she saw something and was wondering why she wasn't scared as well.

"Did you see that?" She exclaimed, but Teony shook her head. She cupped her hands over Raven's, truly concerned for the girl.

"Raven," Teony said. "are you alright? You're shaking."

"No!" She replied honestly. She was panting now. "I think I just saw a bloody demon!"

Teony sighed. She squeezed her hands reassuringly, but started to pull her out of the room as well. Raven followed her, but she was still almost shaking from the horror that she witnessed.

"Damien's found something," Teony whispered out of nowhere. Raven looked at her skeptically, but followed her anyways. When they finished walking, Raven stared. There was the tapestry, alright. But that's not what scared her. It's what was below it.

"No way," She muttered. Teony nodded her head, and Raven realized that they were going to have to go back down into the basement.
