Teony brushed her hair with her fingers. Specks of sugar were still buried in it, almost impossible to get out. They all walked out of the kitchen, including Rafe who had leftover cereal powder all over her and Trevor, who was covered head to toe in different powders he didn't recall the names to.
"Where the heck are the showers?" Fletcher mumbled, but no one heard. His hair was much dirtier blonde than before, and he smeared some of the chocolate off of his face.
"Let's just go clean up," Rafe suggested, and they all agreed. No matter how hard she tried, however, Rafe could not wipe her smile off of her face. She had just been so happy destroying the kitchen, especially doing it with her best friends.
The students headed to the boys and girls bathrooms that Mr. Barla had shown them on their first day. The girls and boys separated and started to clean up before returning outside. They didn't have time for showers, so they had to improvise by using wet paper towels to wipe down their faces, heads, arms and legs. Once they were done, they all met up by the lounge, standing in the hallway.
Teony was the last to finish, for it took her a while to get all the sugar off of her body. She didn't say anything when they all looked at her, then at everybody else.
"So," Trevor started. "what now?"
Raven's eyes went to the windows, noticing how dark it was getting. "The sun's starting to set, maybe we should get some rest so that we will have more energy for tomorrow," She suggested. She was very tired herself but had been ignoring it for a while, too preoccupied with other things.
"No way! Are you insane? Remember last time we went to sleep in this school?" Fletcher argued, shaking his head over and over. Whenever he spoke, Raven noticed his light Norwegian accent slowly slipping away, like his type of voice was morphing into theirs.
"But, Fletcher, I'm exhausted!" Ella whined. "I barely even got any sleep last night, not with Raven's scream!" Most of the others nodded with her, even if they didn't exactly agree.
"But this is a demon school, I really don't think it's the best idea to-"
"Fletcher," Rafe interrupted. "we don't really have a choice. I'm tired as well, and I'm pretty sure we're going to be in here for a while. We need to sleep." She winked at Trevor and Fletcher, motioning towards the book, and with that she sat on one of the chairs, closing her eyes as she got ready to sleep.
"What did she mean?" Trevor whispered to Fletcher, and he shrugged. Still confused but also curious, Trevor took the part of the couch in which he slept on earlier, and tried to fall asleep, even if he wasn't tired at all. Fletcher slept on the chair next to the couch, Ella and Teony sleeping on the other couch and Raven, not really minding her uncomfort, on the ground.
Trevor placed his hands behind his head, laying back and trying to relax. Thoughts raced through his mind, but he tried to settle them down so that he could actually sleep. There was so much to finish doing and they already lost so many lives doing so. How many more people had to die before they could get out?
Tired of all of his excessive thinking, Trevor relaxed both his brain and body, and slowly drifting asleep.

He woke up to the touch of somebody shaking him repetitively. Trevor opened his eyes to see a white haired girl he deeply recognized, and before he could say anything she put her finger to her lips, signaling for him to be quiet. Confused, he did as told as he started to sit up.
What are you doing? He signed. She sat down next to him on the couch, giving him a confused look. She already told him. At least, she thought she did.
The book. I told you we were going to have to ask Theodore and Alfred for answers. This is our chance.
Trevor didn't get it. They already read the annotations, what was there more to do?
Is Fletcher awake? Rafe asked, and Trevor shrugged. He reached over to the blond boy and started shaking him, trying to wake him up but all he did was slap his hand away in his sleep, adjusting his position to one more comfortable. Right as he was about to try to wake him up again, Rafe stopped him.
Let him sleep, She signed. He obviously needs it.
Trevor nodded, moving away from Fletcher, who was continuously shifting his body until he found a position he liked. The pair ignored him after that, and Rafe stood up to get the book. As she reached to the other side of the table, she tried not to make any noise so that she didn't wake anybody. As soon as her fingers felt the rough spine, she grabbed it and brought it over to her and Trevor. She sat back down, and opened it on their laps joined together.
What are we looking for exactly? Trevor asked, still a little confused.
Just trust me on this, Rafe responded, and suddenly hoped that she knew what she was doing. She flipped to the Table of Contents, and Trevor started to worry a little when she went to the 'enchantments and rituals' section.
Rafe, what are you doing? Trevor signed, caution starting to flood his brain.
Please just trust me, She begged, and went through the book page by page, rejecting any section that didn't satisfy her. It was after a few moments before she chose a page. Here it is.
Trevor looked at the page, too stunned to say anything. He had not expected her to turn to the page she did, especially with what was written on the bottom. The page was titled "Communication Enchantment', a skull printed in the middle of the page and the words 'danger' and 'warning' scattered throughout.
Wait, we are actually going to talk to Theodore and Alfred?
Yes, genius. What did you think I meant?
Trevor rolled his eyes, still not sure that it was a good plan. He definitely didn't want to get involved with dark magic any more than he had, nor summon the ghost of a psychopath and ask it for help. We need to get the others.
No! Rafe snapped. I was going to do it alone, but I knew I needed one or two people there with me in case something went wrong, but I can't have a whole group with me.
Why not?
Rafe sighed, not knowing how to explain it. I don't want to play around with a murderer anymore. I just don't. And since I trust you more than anyone else, I know we'll be safe. With Fletcher, I think we would be safe as well. I can't guarantee that with everybody.
Trevor tried to understand, but was still against it. It's too dangerous. We could die.
We could die either way, especially if we don't do anything. But I'm going, with or without you.
Trevor thought for a moment. He did trust Rafe, so he knew that she would never put him in danger, but it wasn't her. The situation just seemed too risky all together, even if they could possibly accomplish something from it. But if she was going to go, the least he could do was be there as well.
Fine.
She smiled, and started to read the page. Trevor followed along, still partly regretting his decision. But there was no turning back now. OK, so it says here in order to speak to them we have to gather one of their possessions and six white candles. We already have one of Theodore's possessions, but we still need to get the candles.
Where are supposed to find those?
I don't know, but there has to be some somewhere in here.
Do they have to be white?
Rafe rolled her eyes. Anyways, I think I might have seen one in the classroom where we said the enchantment two days ago and I think there might have also been one in the room where the door slammed on us, with Damien, Fox and Teony.
Trevor's eyes went wide. No way am I going in there again.
She sighed. We might have to, if we can't find anymore.
Trevor took a moment, then stood up. We shouldn't waste any more time, then, He signed. Rafe stood up with them, who was still holding the book. She was smiling as they both started to walk towards the classroom they had went into on the first day, thinking only of the advantage they might have and not of the danger they could be walking into.
