[UNEDITED] XXIV- Someone will conquer
Annabeth POV
They all give me a small smile as I walk in the room. The three women were young at first glance but when I looked in their eyes I could see a timeless amount of wisdom. All three of them held their heads high. Their posture perfect, you could tell that they were people of great power from just their looks.
I drop myself to one knee before them. They are important I could tell and I knew with all my soul that I didn't want to offend them. My head was hung down as I hear soft chuckles coming from the three ladies.
"We haven't gotten this much respect since we defeated the titans right Clotho?"
"Well, I actually have gotten lots of respect it's you that everyone is afraid of."
A hand gently touched my shoulder, her voice was soft but held a lot of command "Please excuse our informality, you may rise now."
"Usually by now you will be proceeding to the next step of the underworld, but you are a special case, my dear. You were not meant to be killed. If you want you will continue your life you may."
All three of them echoed, "Though you have a chance to continue, you will feel pain more than you have ever felt."
"I need to get back to the mortal world, Percy needs me it is my fault that he was captured. He came back to find me." I sigh, I could feel the guilt building up in my chest.
"Keep in mind, Annabeth if you go back you will feel more pain then you ever experienced before."
"I need to go back to Percy, I need to help him."
"If you don't go back this life, you should see him again in the next." The three fates grin as if this is the most fun they had in centuries, "We can show you what you can be."

"Hey," I said as I slide next to someone on the bench. "Happy birthday."
I watched myself as I smiled. It was like seeing myself in a different time. I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out.
I was holding a huge misshapen cupcake with blue icing.
The boy stared at me. "What?"
"It's August 18th," I smiled at him. "Your birthday, right?"
He smiled looking stunned. He seemed to have forgotten it was his birthday. The prophecy had come tur right on schedule, he must haven't even though about the fact it was his birthday due to the busy day.
"Make a wish," I smiled at him. He may be a seaweed brain but he was growing on me.
"Did you bake this yourself?"
"Tyson helped."
"That explains why it looks like a chocolate brick," he smirked. "With extra blue cement."
I watched myself as the future me laughed. This must have been what the three ladies were saying, saying about the future. I saw as I slowly inched my hand towards his, as soon as they touch he tightened his grip with mine. He smiled a smile of peace and blew out the candles.
We cut the cake in half and shared it, eating without fingers. He sat next to me, and we watched the ocean. Crickets and monsters were making noise in the woods, but otherwise, it was quiet.
"Percy, you saved the world," I said.
Percy, Percy Jackson I get another chance with him.
"No Annabeth, we saved the world."
~
"What do you mean by, what I can be?" I asked them.
"Why don't we have a smart one here," They laughed. "the thing is we don't choose your life. Sure we start it and end it, but we don't control you. You make your choices we just give you your path. Each path leads you somewhere different."
"You are saying if I don't choose a certain path I can't have that certain ending."
"Yes, your right."
"How can I make that future happen?" I knew that I wanted that future, it was the one meant for me. I not only wanted it I needed it.
"The path is up to you."
"Perseus Jackson is almost dead, you are to save him but you can't do it is your dead. His act of hero ship is his future. You act is saving him." They said. "I'm sure you know the rules, no rebirth if you're not a hero. You will be the hero that will save Olympus. Without you, someone will conquer."
"You're saying that I have no choice."
"You always have a choice, you just have to choose the one that is built for you."
"How do I know what to do?" I asked, the world around me was fading and I needed answers.
Their voices roar through my as the world fuzzes on its edges, "Only time will tell. If you move forward you will feel unbelievable pain. The choice is yours to make. When you finish what you have to do, you will comeback to where you belong. You will have to return to us."
~
One would think that moving on and making a choice would be impossible. It is actually quite easy if you already have your heart set on a certain outcome. Of course, the fates new that, they didn't want the end of the world, but it was against their code to make choices for someone else.
I sat on the edge of a cliff, not a literal cliff but one in my own mind. There was a strong breeze that day, the wind whistled through my hair blowing it back. On my right as a bridge, the bridge shimmered as the light reflected off its polished railings. The bridge was so inviting so welcoming, it had an aurora of peace.
Below me was an endless drop, there was a thick layer of dark fog settling my legs as they dangled off. The fog pulled at me wishing for me to jump.
I needed to go somewhere, I don't know when I have to get there or where I am going. I just know I have to get there. I scouted the area searching for another path out, but as I looked I was on a cliff. There was a drop to the darkness where ever I looked. I was on a floating patch of rock.
I looked on more time at the majestic bridge. It was a prize for a winner. Something that you had to earn. Nothing in this world comes for free. You have to work for it.
I took a deep breath and excepted my other option and I jumped. The fog wrapped around as if it was trying to comfort me as I fell.
Another thing one would think is that if you are falling to your death it would be painless when you hit the ground because you have already passed. This time when I hit the ground I felt indescribable pain as if I was still living.
