Epilogue

❝ꋬⲧℓᥲ𝖘❞

I propped myself against the wooden doorframe that led into the bedroom and studied my beautiful wife.

Seven and a half years ago, I was convincing her to pretend to be my fiancée, and now we were honeymooning in Bora Bora. The destination was the easiest part of the wedding.

Weddings were a lot. And my parents had so many requests. Thankfully, Erin was as laid back about the planning as she was with everything else.

And I loved her more every day.

She stood in the center of the bedroom, looking down through the glass floor in awe.

“I can literally see fish.”

Might be the first time she’d used the word correctly.

“You want to swim with them, or you want to eat first?” I crossed one foot over the other and took a sip of my beer.

“I want to eat. I’m, like, literally starving.”

And we were back to literally meaning ridiculously very.

I chuckled as I moved into the room. She turned to gaze out at the ocean, and I put my arms around her, my chest pressing against her back. The doors that led from the bedroom to the large deck were open, and the expansive turquoise water was all we could see for miles.

“This is even more amazing in person,” she whispered.

“It truly is” I smiled. Even though the location was amazing, the woman in my arms was what made it perfect. “But a week alone with my gorgeous wife anywhere is my dream.”

Between planning the wedding and our careers, the last six months had been hectic for both of us.

Erin had been promoted to Research and Development Lab Manager at Myers water, while I trained my replacement since I was now running the Moreno Group’s other office.

At first, my father had scoffed at the idea of opening an office in Montana instead of a 'fancier place' according to him. I grinned at the memory of the look on the man’s face. But my whole world was in Montana, so there was nowhere else I’d be.

That my dad understood perfectly.

“Oh um, Allegraʼs coming back to the states in a couple of days and since weʼre here and I canʼt go pick her up from the airport, I asked River to. I hope thatʼs okay with you.”

“A hundred percent. Now come on, crazy girl. Let’s grab something to eat and check out the resort” I skimmed over her hips with my fingertips, pressing her back against me.

But Erin pushed away and took off ahead of me.

Always charging into the next adventure.

I loved that about her, and I still couldn’t believe I was the lucky guy who got to follow her into every tomorrow.

The next book in the Montana Heartstrings series is Joel Cahillʼs story and like this book, it can be read as a standalone.

I hope you stick around for it.
