When and how did you become a fan of Michael's?

That happened in two steps, really. The first time I came across MJ was back in 1988 or 1989. I was 9 or 10 respectively, and I accidentally came across the film Moonwalker on TV. I was fascinated by it to a point that scared me. How could I be so infatuated with someone? That's a strange thought for a child, but that's how it was. So I stayed away from MJ for another 4 years. My mother tongue is German, so I didn't understand the songs anyway. Then when I was 14, I visited my best friend and she had just been to a concert (Dangerous) with her dad. She had a poster in her room and a Dangerous Tour concert video. And that was it for me. Meanwhile I had started to study English, too, and from that point on I listened to Thriller and Bad all day long. No joke! I had a copied take from my friend and I had it on from the moment I came from from school (My poor mother! xD)
Let me add that in Germany Upper School ended at 1 p.m., so my mum really got her share! xD

Awww, that's sweet! Sounds like you have a lot of nice memories ❤️ (I missed out on a lot, sadly. I only became a fan fairly recently)

When did you first find your interest in writing and when did you write your first MJ fanfiction?

Well, when I was 14 it was 1993, so there are very nice memories but it turned out to be a rather disturbing summer.

I became interested in writing around the same time, which is probably the time most children start to experiment with language. I started my first fanfiction right when coming from visiting my friend in January, 1993. It was called 'Dangerous Times' and I never finished it, but it had over 1000 handwritten pages when I stopped writing on it. I guess I actually didn't want it to end. Another friend of mine picked up on it and so we both wrote a fanfiction and read it to each other. It was a great summer. There was no internet, yet, so we thought we were the only people in the world doing that. It was a great summer, really! Until the Chandler Affair hit. In September 1993 I wrote a little short story for my friend that was a fanfiction, too, and somewhat dealt with the Chandler Affair. It was called "Danger Looming" and a translation and how it came into being are here on Wattpad, actually.

What is your favorite story that you've written so far? Could you tell us a bit about it?

Hm... I like them all for different reasons, but if I have to choose... I love "Mary in TIme" and "Carousel". I wrote them at the same time.

It was the idea for "Mary in Time" that brought me back to writing after a very long time. I love it because it's an artistic short story with all the elements you want in a short story such as the limited time frame, setting and characters. It's about Michael suddenly realizing there's a woman, Mary, in his hotel room. He's alone, so he tries to deal with the situation, but Mary is very strange and getting scarier by the minute, and he doesn't know what she wants or what she might be capable of doing. It's not a love story. Of course it's about love in a way, but not about romantic love. While I was writing "Mary in Time", British friend of mine, AvaMJJ44, wrote a story called "Neverland Lovers" in which a Carousel plays a role. And that gave me an idea for another story. At first I really didn't want to write it, because there are so many romantic love stories around that I thought I really didn't need to add another one. But the idea wouldn't let me be, so at one point I put "Mary in Time" aside and wrote "Carousel" to silence the thought.

In "Carousel" Michael Jackson engages in a sexual adventure on the Neverland Carousel. That's an unusual thing to happen, and "Carousel" tells the story surrounding it. It's essentially a story focusing on getting to know someone and falling in love, because very often that part isn't touched in fanfiction. People fall in love, full stop. But what actually makes them fall for someone isn't shown. And "Carousel" also revolves (pun! xD) around the problems there must have been for Michael when going from the star everybody knows to being a private person.

Do you have any fics planned for the future, for when you've finished your current stories?

I have a few ideas in my head, yes. I don't know if I'll ever write all of them, but there's definitely one I'd like to do. However, as ideas aren't subject to copyright, one's always well advised to keep ideas to oneself. So please understand that I won't tell. ;)

What are your goals with writing? Do you plan to publish someday?

Publishing has been on my mind every now and then over the years. It comes and goes. I usually write short stories, which means writing for contests and publishing in magazines. It's not something I plan to do at the moment, but there'll probably be a time in the future when I think about it again, yes.

Do you have a favorite Jacksons/Jackson 5 album? Or a favorite solo album?

I have no favourite Jacksons/Jackson 5 album. I don't have so many of them, actually. I have the Victory album and one called Farewell My Summer Love because I came across them buying old records. My favourite songs, if you want to go there, are "Who's Loving You" because it's just awesomely sung, and "Ben" because it has an almost classical melody. My favourite solo album would be BAD - I guess because that was the time I first came across Michael Jackson.

What are some of your favorite music videos?

Smooth Criminal and Dirty Diana are my favourites. I like BAD, too. and Give In To Me, but that's basically Dirty Diana in a black shirt. XD

Do you have a favorite ship, someone you really liked Michael with romantically?

Not specially, no. I think Tatiana Thumbtzen looked good with him in The Way You Make Me Feel (Oh, that's a nice video, too, now that I think about it!), but other than that, no.

There are a few popular tribute artists out there. Do you keep up with any of them?

No. These people call what they do a tribute but in my opinion they are just making money out of Michael Jackson. If you want to be an artist, be creative, don't copy somebody else and call it a tribute because that justifies you bluntly copying them.

Do you have any favorite FanFictions by others that you'd like to mention?

I do! You'll probably find it an odd choice, though. It's called "The Full Moon" by rennem.

It brings us back to the first question we talked about. I first came across Michael Jackson by watching Moonwalker on TV and I loved it so much I got scared of myself. I've always loved that film, although the plot is basically inexistent. I love the atmosphere. It's like a dream: Sequences that don't really make much sense, but like in a dream you don't mind much. So when I first came to Wattpad and thought about what to search for, I searched Moonwalker to start with. And I found that story. The writer has lots of problems with the English language, and at first I gave up trying to read it. But despite the poor English the story managed to catch the atmospherre of the film. Reading it is like a puzzle, but I still enjoy it a lot. It's unfinished, sadly, and I don't think she'll ever come back to finish it. But I really wish she would. :)
