Crystal thought that she was going to wake up to her annoying alarm clock as she does every day, but instead, she was woken up by her little cousin jumping on her bed.

" Cryssie wake up! Wake up!" 

Her eyes opened as she let out an annoyed groan whenever she saw the brightness of the light coming through her window. She looked over at her alarm clock and after her eyes adjusted to the light she saw six am. She wondered how Max had so much energy this early in the morning. She was never that energetic early in the morning, maybe half of that with the help of coffee.

She let out a heavy sigh and sat up in her bed, looking at Max who sat on the end of her bed in his pjs." Max, what's the problem?"

" There's no problem! Mom and dad said that you're going to take me to school today." he said with a grin.

Crystal chuckled and ran a hand through her tangled hair. " Okay, but is there a reason why you had to wake me up so early? You don't have to be at school until eight. You could've let me sleep in until seven at least."

Max shrugged his shoulders as he got off of her bed. " Mom told me to wake you, so I did." he told her and she noticed the mischievous glint in his eye.

She narrowed her eyes at him. " What time did she tell you to wake me?"

" At seven." Max grinned and with that he quickly left the room, leaving Crystal angrily throwing a pillow at where he once was.

Crystal snuggled back under the covers to try and go back to sleep for one more hour, but after a few minutes of silence, she realized she wouldn't be able to go back to sleep now that she was wide awake.

" Might as well get ready." she grumbled as she got out of her bed and headed towards her bathroom that was in her room to take a shower.

After taking a shower she did her daily routine and once she was dressed she looked over at her alarm clock seeing it was seven-fourteen am. She grabbed her purse and phone as she left the room and headed downstairs. She walked into the kitchen where everyone was at eating breakfast.

" It's about time you're awake. Saved you a seat." Quinton, her uncle, said with a playful grin on his face as he pointed to the chair next to him. She just sent him a glare and sat down next to him.

" I forgot you weren't a morning person." Valerie, her aunt, chuckled as she handed Crystal a plate of pancakes.

" I am with pancakes." Crystal grinned as she poured some syrup on them.

" Same here." Max agreed while still eating pancakes and Crystal cringed.
" Don't talk with your mouth full, doofus."

After finishing his pancakes, Quinton nodded in agreement as he looked at his son. " Yeah, I have to agree with pancake lover here, doofus." his son rolled his eyes, but still had a small smile on his face.

" I have to head to work, so you all of you," Valerie says as she points at each of them while she grabs her purse and keys as she walks to the front door. " behave...please."

" We will." Quinton told her after finishing his pancakes.

" I will see you later." Valerie says to Crystal who nods while she eats her pancakes. Valerie smiles at the three of them. " Love you guys."

The three of them smile. " Love you too!"

After they were done eating and had everything cleaned up, Quinton left for work and Crystal took Max to school.

" You better behave today, Max." she looks over at her little cousin who unbuckles and gets his backpack.

He nods. " You know I will." he got out of the car and waved goodbye to her as he went towards the school, meeting up with friends along the way.

Once he was in school she left and stopped at Jitters for some coffee knowing she wouldn't make it through the day without it.

She walked inside Jitters and ordered an Americano and an Iced Latte for her aunt.

After driving to the Fierce Fashion building she walked out of the elevator and to her aunt's office to give her Latte to her.

Even though it was a bit of a struggle she manages to knock on the door while holding two drinks. " Come in." she hears her aunt say.

She stares at the drinks and then at the door. " How am I gonna open this?" she mumbles to herself as she awkwardly tries to hold two drinks while opening the door with her back.

" Good morning." she greets as she walks over to the desk her aunt was sitting behind.

Valerie looks up from her computer with a smile. " Good morning." she then eyes the coffee in Crystal's hands and grins. " You didn't have to get me anything."

Crystal chuckles and hands her the Iced Latte. " Really, it was no problem."

After taking a drink of her Iced Latte Valerie lets out a content sigh. " Did I mention how much I love Iced Lattes?"

" Yes, a few times." Crystal laughs.

" So, are you done with your sketches yet you wanted to show me?" Valerie asked as she sat her Latte down on the desk.

" More like I haven't even started." she admitted with a sheepish smile.

Valerie sent her a smile. " Well, I'm sure whatever you come up with will be great. Don't forget about the deadline, though."

Crystal bit her lower lip and nodded.
"  Yeah, I know. I'm gonna go try to think of some ideas unless you need me for something else."

Valerie shakes her head. " Nope, you go ahead."

She sent her a smile. " Thanks, Aunt Val."

Valerie smiles back at her and Crystal left her office and went to her own.

A/N I apologize that this chapter is so short & boring, but I just thought you guys should know what crystal's life was before the explosion happened & that's why I wrote this chapter so it would give you an idea of what it would be like. enough of my rambling, I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter & hopefully the next one should be more interesting than this one!
