They Go Along To Take Your Honey
The darkened apartment wasn't necessarily cold nor was it warm. The window was left with their blinds drawn but it was closed. Paula looked at Stuart again as he had missed one eye. She ran a hand over his shaven arms now growing slightly hairy from not having been bathed in a while. Of course Murdoc wouldn't do that. Paula sighed as she stared at the empty black void of his eye. She adjusted his sitting position so his neck wouldn't hurt like hell when he...if he woke up. Paula sighed, she ran her fingers through his hair and tried to make him comfortable for a change.
She felt a hand on her shoulder as she sighed. Murdoc smiled at her comfortingly. "He can't feel anything right now luv,it doesn't matter how he sits..." Paula sighed. "He'll feel it when he wakes up...I don't want him to feel a crick in his neck when he wakes up." Paula's fingers came up over Stu's eyelids as she slowly closed them letting them have moisture on them again. She sighed and smiled as she grabbed a pillow and propped his head up letting Stu to his comfort. Murdoc sighed. "He'll be okay. But with the community service I've got to deal with I might be out a lot. Don't know if I'll be able to care for him a whole bunch."He said rubbing his eyes. Paula sighed. "Well maybe I could take care of him for a while...maybe come back over here and watch over him a few days..."
"Or till he wakes up."Murdoc added. Paula nodded. "I think that would be best for him...I just hate to imagine him bein hurt..."She said taking his weak pale hand. Murdoc smiled. "I'd like that." Then she let go of his hand and just sat there next to Murdoc. Staring at her comatose lover. She didn't even notice Murdoc put a hand comfortingly on her thigh. Paula soon heard Murdoc clear his throat. "So uh...ya asked yesterday what I do for a living...what about you?"
"I work at the grocery store,on call."Paula said. Murdoc nodded. "What's the big plan though?" He asked putting an arm on the couch. "I guess that's it for now. My plan is just Stu. No different than the other way around." Murdoc blinked. "Yeah but what if you two...yknow,split?" Paula blinked. "Then...I guess I go back to my Dad's house. My Mom passed away so I don't have anywhere I can go."Murdoc sat there in silence. "Ya lost yer mum?" She nodded. "When I was born I was causing complications in birth and she didn't make it."She said.
Murdoc was quiet again before breaking the silence later on. "I uh...never met my mother. Don't even know what race I am." Paula pulled down the sunglasses and looks over them. "Seriously...? You could be Indian and white. That's my best guess."She said looking him up and down. He let himself smile softly as the faint wrinkles came up in his eyes. "Yeah. Maybe." Then silence. Not awkward, the tv had his attention, the younger man had hers. Murdoc had his eyes fixed on the screen but the noises couldn't sink into his mind fully. Murdoc heard a faint sniffle coming from Paula.
Murdoc slightly drew attention to her now, seeing her like this was certainly different. Unpleasant even. He hated watching her make googly eyes at someone else. Why?! I don't even care about her that much. I just hang with her because she wants to be around him. Though a part of him couldn't blame her, he wasn't half bad to look at really, his hypnotic eye, like that of a black hole in space. The other being a shiny blue like the sea. He always had a fascination with the ocean, he found it very odd about himself. Then there was that hair, that matching blue that went with his eye color. It was almost something he could see himself envying.
The faint sniffle lead out to a small whimper. She caught herself, placing a pill in her mouth as Murdoc pretended not to notice. Rather he comfortingly placed his hand subtly on her thigh, she pretended like she didn't notice or didn't care. The truth was she wanted ever moment of his attention, his comfort. He was just oddly kind in a way that only she seemed to be getting. Paula was there in that trial, he was a womanizer and seemed to act all rude to others, but to her he just sat there and oddly was polite...or at least more nicer than he would treat the average person. That's when it struck in her mind, last night she had a panic attack they were going to......but we didn't...he comforted me, brought me my medicine and just held me.
His fingers wrapped around her thigh, his thumb traced over the side of her leg up and down as his warm palm laid dead center on the middle of her leg. Murdoc softly blushed to himself as he felt her hand, his main concern being that she'd push it away from her leg. Her arm snaked down his from his shoulder down to his wrist. He closed his eyes and inhaled a breath, but rather then push him away unaccepting him, her fingers laced through his, intertwining their hands as her head placed itself on his collar bone, some strands of her uncombed hair gently tickling his slightly enlarged nose. His mind raced through the moment. His eyes remained slightly slanted in his drowsy hungover state, although his heart pounded on her back. Murdoc knew Paula could feel it, the way her soft red strands of hair touched his face, the warmth of her body on his, their hands touching, he could feel the moment. The view of the tv and the soft hair in his face had a more darkened view now, more black over time as his eyes shut.
His last thoughts echoed softly in his own head.
Your hand grips hand as my eyes shut.
