Jonathan hated moving. He hated school more than moving, though, so he wasn't sure how to feel right now.

He had been sent to a school far away from his hometown, a small town somewhere in North Carolina. Jonathan didn't really know the exact place though, he had never paid attention to where he was. He never felt the need to do something like that. Back in his old town, everyone knew each other and knew where everything in town was. He could've walked himself down to the park and back with his eyes closed.

There's no way he would ever be able to do that shit here, though. This place was huge. A big, grand entrance room leading off to an auditorium, where he had been pushed into (literally pushed into) by staff members. Jonathan felt cramped and uncomfortable around the hundreds, possibly thousands of students also in here with him.

Some elegant looking lady had come up, and promptly began some long, drawn out speech. Jon would've liked to say he had listened, but he slowly got distracted by his thoughts.

His thoughts weren't anything special- just things like lunch and sleep, normal things for a 17 year old guy like him.

When he looked around, all he could notice were the marks on his hands, and the little scratches on his fingers from where he had tripped and tried to save himself from looking like a complete idiot.

He also noticed people beginning to stir, as the lady up front gestured towards the doors.

Coming to the conclusion that they were leaving, Jonathan began to follow everyone else out. He followed the crowd to some tables outside, where people were receiving keys, probably to their dorms.

"You there, in the blue hoodie! Come over here, I don't have all day!" A lady snaps at him, startling Jon enough to make him scurry over.

"Name?" She doesn't look too impressed when Jon just stands there without a word.

"J- Jon- Jonathan. Dennis, I mean," he forces out. He didn't know what was up with this lady, but she was kinda scaring him.

The lady grumbles something as she writes on a paper, then hands him a key. "You're in room 583. That's in the big red building, cant miss it." She shoos Jon off, yelling for some other person instead.

Jon just stumbles away, unsure about how to feel right now. Lost seemed to be the best way to explain it. And as most lost people do, he begins to wander around aimlessly.

When he comes to a lake, probably far off the school grounds, he smiles to himself and sits at the water's edge. Water had always made him feel at home, and to know there was such a big, beautiful lake nearby comforted him.

Then again, he did have water powers. Maybe that was why he liked it so much.

Jonathan laughs excitedly as he reaches forwards, sticking his hand into it. He pulls his hand up, watching as the water swirls around in the air. More water comes up, rising up into the air above the lake.

He had been about to shape it into something when a rustle in the bushes caught his attention. Turning his head towards the noise, Jonathan nearly faints when he sees a pair of bright yellow eyes staring at him.

When the mysterious creature lunges at him, Jon jumps back, heart pounding, screaming louder than he ever thought he could. With his concentration broken, the water all falls down to the ground, droplets spraying everywhere.

And as sudden as it had showed up, it flew off with big, feathery wings. Jonathan stood there, shaking like a leaf.

It is then that Jon decides that he's had enough water for now. He would come back tomorrow, maybe. It was getting late and he still didn't know where his damn dorm was.

-

Room 526? Or was it 549? I.... Fuck. I forgot what my dorm number was.

Jonathan groaned to himself, wandering around a building. He had no idea where he was, and he had no clue as to how to get to his dorm room. There were rooms, they were numbered, but none of it made any sense to him. The stupid numbers on the doors were all so tiny and faint that Jon could barely tell what room he was at.

He decided that if he kept walking, he would eventually find where he was supposed to be. Or, at the very least, he would find someone who knew where to go.

But... But there was nobody in sight, and Jonathan was getting tired of walking around. He was ready for bed, honestly. And at this point, he was fully prepared to lay down on the floor and sleep out in the hallway.

In his tired state, he didn't notice himself bumping into someone. Jon hears a small cry coming from below him, and feels himself panic a bit as he sees a boy underneath him.

Pulling the boy up, Jonathan can't help but feel guilty as he sees the boy's face, small and worried and looking like he was about to cry. He had big blue eyes, and blonde hair all messed up from his fall. He was kinda pretty, Jon thinks to himself.

"I- I'm so- so sorry," he stutters out.

Jon shakes his head, and picks up what he presumes to be the boy's papers. "Hey. It's a'ight. Didn't mean to bump into you anyways, I'm sorry 'bout that."

He pauses for a moment, observing the way the boy seems hesitant to respond. Jon then tries to go for a more friendly approach, smiling warmly at the boy. "I guess I should introduce myself? Isn't that how these things go?" He pauses for a moment, giving a loud laugh. "I'm Jonathan ," he says trying his best to stay quiet and not scare the kid off.

To his delight, the boy isn't scared off at all. He gives a small smile, and is about to say something when a clock chimes somewhere.

The boy's eyes widen as he awkwardly gestures behind him. "I-I have to g-go, s-sorry!" With that, the boy scurries off, leaving Jonathan alone once more.

He sighed, took a deep breath, and continued walking along. What was that guy's deal? Jon shakes his head and then turns to look over at the doors.

Room 577, 579, 583...

583? Wasn't that what his room was? Jon decides to just pull his key out and hope for the best. He puts the key into the lock, turns, and to his delight, the door swings open.

He was met with another guy, who looked to be just a bit older than him, laying in bed staring at the ceiling. Jonathan shrugs it off as his roomate, and decides to close the door behind him since he's such a nice guy. Everything had been going well, this was very clearly his room because all his stuff was on here.

But then he feels a bit of heat on his arm, and when he looks, he sees his favorite hoodie on fire. Without thinking, Jonathan begins yelling and babbling curses at the top of his lungs, flailing his arm about in hopes that it would extinguish itself.

But then he remembered he had water powers, and suddenly the world made a little more sense to him. He forms a ball of water in his other hand, and successfully puts out the fire on his arm.

The laughter from the other side of the room makes him look over at his roommate, who's laughing his ass off on the bed.

"Holy fuck," he gasps. "That was beautiful, man, you should've seen your face!"

Jonathan stands up, glaring at the fire man. "Who the fuck are you and what the fuck was that?!" He gives a little stomp for emphasis, huffing and pouting at him.

The other guy chuckles and grins. "I'm Luke, and let me tell you, I'm a pretty damn hot son of a bitch!" Luke then winks playfully, sending a small flame in Jon's direction.

Jonathan rolls his eyes, trying to hide his smile. "Well, I'm Jonathan, and... and... And I'm a water- fucking man!"

They both look at each other for a moment, before laughing at Jon's weird introduction.  Jon looked over at Luke, who chuckles and leans back on his bed.

"Shit, man. We're gonna be best fuckin' friends, you hear me? BFF's for life!" Luke gives Jon a flashy grin, nodding his head. And honestly, Jon couldn't agree more.
