Who knew having a quiet house again would feel so uncomfortable? Jae looks around her living room. It was the morning and she was going to open up her pet store. She was just expecting something to happen while walking down. Someone demanding for food, her furniture being destroyed, neighbors complaining about loud screams, etc. Her brows furrow and she rubs her face, she is wasting her time at home. She better get ready to go to the store. But, right before exiting out the door she looks back into the house one more time. Even after four months she is still not used to the quiet.

Jae is barking orders once again at Willow to work. The store wasn't busy, but she was still irritated Willow is still lazy because Park is working at the store.

“Hey, your admirer is back today.”

Jae looks back around her to see a man walk into the store. He was wearing a business suit and had a bouquet of flowers in his hands. Once he saw Jae a smile comes on his face and his blue eyes light up. She groans inwardly at his appearance every day.

“Not again.”

“He wuvs~ you!” She coos while pinching one of Jae's cheeks. Jae glares at her, making Willow immediately back off and run to some other part of the store. Great, now she is alone with him.

“Jae! The store looks well as always.”

The man walks up to Jae and she tries her best to put on the best smile.

“Y-Yes, it's nice to see you again. Day after day.” She whispers the last part so he doesn't hear.

“You always work so hard, here.” He hands Jae the flowers, she smiles again weakly and takes them.

“Thanks.”

It's not that he bothers her, the man is a gentleman. Griffin was a colleague when Jae was still in college. The two kept in touch and were still friends. After Griffin finished college he began to work in a company away from where Jae lived. It wasn't until two months ago he got promoted and moved back in the area. Which lead him to asking her out for a drink, and after that for dates. It wasn't like Griffin wasn't here type. He was successful, had a great personality, was attractive, and loved animals as much as her.

But, there was something stopping her.

“Would you like to go for a drink after you're done with your store?”

“Sorry Griffin, but I have to close the store late-.”

Willow sticks her head out from the back.

“What are you talking about? Park and I are close-.”

The glare Jae shot Willow made even the snakes in the store cower in fear.

She turns back to Griffin who was blinking with confusion.

“I-I don't look good right now. Not a lot of makeup and working with animals would make me smell. I doubt the other customers would like the smell.”

He chuckles a little at her response. “You look fine to me, you always look beautiful.”

Surprisingly, the comment didn't make her blush. She just kept her head to the side.

“No one would mind how you're dressed. We wont go to somewhere fancy, we could go down the street and-. Jae are you listening?”

She wasn't listening at all. Her eyes were glued to a sight outside. There was a woman struggling with her 'pet'. She kept tugging on the leash, at the side of her the woman's limo driver was looking at the scene with worry. Jae couldn't stop looking at the 'pet' though. The same hair, body, those eyes that held hate . . . and pain.

Jae dashes out the store ignoring Griffin's calls to her. She runs up to the woman with her 'pet', Jae gets right in between the two before the 'pet' was able to hit the woman. But, that makes Jae take the punch instead. The attack nearly knocks her out and Jae falls to the ground. The woman who was holding the collar screams at the event, not helping the pain in Jae's head.

“Jae!”

Jae feels Griffin wrap his arms around her and try to help the woman back to her feet. He turns his glare to the 'pet'.

“I'm calling the police!”

“W-Wait!”

Jae tries to get back on her feet and stands in front of the 'pet'. She stares his glare down, even when he is growling at her.

It's funny how much he looks like Amadeus.

The same black hair that's almost blue, glowing green eyes, and tan skin.

She wonders if he had the same scar as her Amadeus.

Jae snaps out of her thoughts and looks back up to his face. She lifts a her hand up to his face, and takes two fingers, Jae then flicks his nose. Getting the same reaction the first time. A smile comes on her face at the nostalgic moment.

“Bad.”

She then begins to take the collar off of him, still getting the bewildered look on his face.

“You don't give her respect. The she doesn't need to provide for you.” Jae throws the collar to the ground and returns her smiling face back up to him. “You don't realize you need her as much as she wants to love you as a pet, and take care of you.”

The Amadeus growls but doesn't stay. He immediately turns on his feet and walks off in a different direction. From behind her she feels the woman grab at her shoulder and turn her around.

“Do you know how much he was? ! You better take responsibility for what happened!” She then turns to her limo driver. “Go get him right now!”

“No, you go get him.”

She turns back around to Jae with a glare.

“Excuse me?”

Jae returns the glare and steps up to the woman, making her flinch back a bit.

“He is your pet, you need to take care of him. He is not some animal to flaunt. Take care of him by your own hands to make him know you love him.”

The look on the woman's face made Jae know she got to her. She was looking her up and down, trying to find a comeback to yell back at her. In the end the woman scoffs and walks past Jae to where Amadeus went, pushing her back with her shoulder.

Jae was back inside her store sitting down while holding an ice pack to her head. Griffin was currently tending to the cut she had on her cheek from the punch she got. A frown was still settled on his face as he looks at the condition Jae is in.

“I still think we should call the police.”

“No, trust me everything is fine.”

“Fine? Jae, he assaulted you!”

She flinches at his loud voice making Griffin suddenly feel guilty. He sighs and sits back down at the chair across from her.

“Don't do things like that.” He then moves forward to cradle her was a little. “You worry me sometimes.”

It's funny, his kind words and touch doesn't effect her at all. Jae begins to think maybe she's getting sick from not reacting at all. If it was Amadeus-.

Her eyes immediately widen at the thought and stands up, shocking Griffin at her action. Her face was flustered and she was stuttering a bit.

“I-I need to clean something in the back. Thanks for visiting”

She rushes her speech at the last part and runs to the back of the store.

Griffin was left sitting in the chair by himself, with the exception of animals around him of course.

“Was she being shy?” He mumbles, confused by Jae today.

Willow looks Jae up and down while she is cleaning some of the puppies' cages. Jae fidgets a bit under her glare. Great, what did she do now? She can't be made at her running out of the store. Willow doesn't usually give her the evil eye, but when she does Jae never sees the reason why Willow is so angry. Jae can't take it any more and turns back to the girl.

“What is it?”

The glare doesn't disappear and a pout comes on to her face.

“Something must be really wrong with you.”

She stops her working and turns to Willow with her mouth twitching in irritation.

“Oh, how nice of you to say.”

“Don't treat this like a joke!”

Willow gets up in Jae's face, sticking her manicured nail a little too close to her eye.

“Griffin is rich. Rich! Take advantage of his love and go out with him! In no time I bet you will be able to marry him and live a life with out worrying about money!”

“I think you're that has something wrong with her.”

Willow scoffs and stands up straight again.

“I'm just saying. We're twenty-five, not getting any younger. My mom's been complaining about me being single for so long and already wants me popping out babies.”

Jae stays silent while staring down at the ground.

“Y-You know marriage is at the bottom of my list right now. Also, I would like to love the person I marry.” She says this all with a low voice.

Griffin is the ideal man. She could picture the happy life with him. Being at his apartment, taking care of him and his dog he always talks about. The only problem is, Jae doesn't feel anything for him. Jae laughs a little at herself, maybe there is something wrong with her.

The sound of her phone ringing snaps Jae out of her thinking. She takes her cell out to look who is calling her. Her eyes widen as she sees Hopper's name come up.

Could it-?

She shakes her head. No, she can't get excited. She doesn't want to feel the disappointment. Jae takes a deep breath in before answering her phone.

“Hopper, it's been a while.”

Jae gets a surprise when she hears crying from the other side of the line.

“H-Help me!” Hopper cries out. It sounds like he is sniffling too.

“If another girl dumped you I'm not helping again.”

“N-No!” He cries before she could hang up. “I-I wanted to keep it a surprise! But, I can't handle all four of them at once! S-S-Save me, Jae!”

Everything stops around her. It couldn't be. Jae raises a shaking hand to her mouth as she feels slight tears.

“Hopper, you better not be joking with me.”
“J-Jae! I'm at your home right now and-.” The line cuts off as she hears a high-pitched cry come from Hopper. The sound of a battle cry and a chuckling was also there in the background.

She nearly drops her phone in shock.

“Jae, why do you look like that?”

“Willow! I'm leaving early!”

“W-What?”

Jae takes off her work shirt and puts on her regular clothes before grabbing her purse. She races out of the store, ignoring the yells from Willow. All the way running and trying to get to her home as soon as possible, she couldn't help but let the tears of joy come down.
