How serious Yibo's father is about kicking his wife out of the company, he clearly showed right on Monday morning. No sooner had he entered the company than he called an emergency board meeting, at which Yibo and his brother also had to be present, when he informed the board of his wife's resignation.

He explained to the board that his wife had decided to resign herself after realizing that she had a drinking problem and was no longer able to work for the company. In this way, he practically presented his wife with the fait accompli and did not even give her the chance to say anything herself.

Yibo could only shake his head at this. It annoyed him that his mother was not even there to defend herself. And because he has to pretend to be on his father's side, at least for now, he couldn't say anything either. It annoyed him even more that his mother didn't even bother to come to the company. It was as if she didn't take what her husband and brother-in-law said seriously.

Next to Yibo sat his brother, who was following the whole thing with clenched fists and a grim look. He, too, decided to pretend for the time being that he agreed with everything his father said and wanted. Even if it was obviously difficult for him.

Just before the board meeting, Yibo and his brother talked for a few minutes and his brother told him that he is now even convinced that his wife and their father are having an affair. "After she and I had our first date back then, a second date followed in the presence of Mom and Dad. And I remembered how they greeted each other. Then she even knew how old Dad was, even though none of us told her. She even knew what drink he preferred after dinner. She didn't pay attention to Mom at all and only talked to Dad."

"I see. So now you're saying the two of them were dating before you got married?"

"Yes. By now I'm really convinced of it. Maybe I had to marry her so the two of them could continue to be together. I'm sure her parents wouldn't have let her marry a man older than her father. In just 20 minutes, the board voted to remove Yibo's mother, as well as Hai Kuan's taking over her position and Yibo's taking over his brother's previous position. None of the board members expressed any concerns or voted against it. Which made Yibo wonder if his father had let the board members in on it beforehand?

After the board meeting, Yibo returned to the marketing department. He had been thinking since last night about how to tell his staff and colleagues that as of next week, he was no longer in charge of that department because he was now part of the management team. And that without mentioning what the real reason for his transfer was. And he also had to tell them that his best friend will then take over his position in the department and manage it.

As Yibo had already expected, his colleagues and staff were anything but enthusiastic. They murmured even more when Yibo explained to them that he would only be there today, as he would be on vacation starting tomorrow to take care of his moving. Meanwhile, Yibo watched happily as Zhan talked to the employees and colleagues and even got involved in their work and helped them. On this day, Yibo was absolutely sure of one thing at least, he loves Zhan and has found in him a great partner he can rely on. A partner whose eyes are full of love when he looks at him. A partner with whom he feels how much he is loved by him.
