Dare a Whisper
Silently the thunderous waves
peel inside my layered soul
and rolling through the dim lit days
of the times my mind tries yet to hold
I often find as I cannot sleep,
the night entreats my open wound
and like a salve the stillness weeps
a soothing oil and sweet perfume
The moon translucent, is shining red
over the mountain of my memories
with a teasing light; it's not a friend
on the path I struggle to see
In the wind these voices far
call to my languishing wish
that I might again find my star
and feel the ocean's mist
Sunlight on your summer skin
Breezes in your eyelash bend
Smiles breaking at our shore
All these things unspoken then
Now I dare a whisper
and speak a prayer true
that all I gained I would give
to regain that time with you
