Lula tilted her head in confusion. "Wait, so you're dating your boss?"
I sighed, nodding. "Yea,"
"Is that even legal?" She asked.
I laughed. "I don't know. Technically we're not supposed to, but Theodore doesn't give a fuck. They can't fire him and he won't let them fire me."
"Wow," Lula breathed out. "How is your Mom taking this?"
I frowned. "Terrible. I brought him home with me and she tried to assault him. Then she told me she didn't want me dating for another ten years and made me keep the door open so she could make sure we weren't doing anything."
Lula laughed. "Oh my god?! That is so..." she laughed again. "Sorry, man, you got it."
I shook my head. "I'm moving out actually. Theodore has movers at my house right now."
Lula's eyes widened. "With your mother there?"
I nodded. "They can deal with her. I'm not trying to be there for another temper tantrum."
Lula sighed. "I'm so glad the only thing my Mom's on my ass for is my grades." she shook her head. "Mom told me that if I got a boyfriend I should tell her so she could get me ready."
My eyes widened. "Really?"
Lula nodded. "She said she couldn't stop me from having sex but she can prevent me from getting pregnant at sixteen like she did."
"Martha had a child at sixteen?!" I gasped.
Lula nodded. "Yeah, she had to give him up for adoption and she's too scared to tell Dad. I mean it's not like she cheated, but hey, I'm just gonna wait for her to tell Dad so she can find her son."
"Damn, this is really a surprise." I didn't even know what to say. Martha always handled herself with discipline. I would have never guessed she was getting it at sixteen and actually getting pregnant.
Lula shrugged. "I actually like all of this. The half-sibling shit. It's cool."
I laughed. "If only my Mom thought the same way." I stood up with Lula.
"Never gonna happen," she laughed as we went downstairs.
I was visiting my Dad, but he wasn't there, so I ended up talking with Lula in her room. Timothy and Charlie went wherever Dad went, so we're basically waiting for them.
"Hello, Martha," I smiled, giving her a smile.
"Hi, Stephanie," she smiled back. "How's Calypso?"
I shook my head. "Heart broken that I'm dating a man and moving out,"
Lula laughed as Martha covered her mouth. "Oh dear," she said. "It must be very hard for you. I know what happened during your college years."
My college years. I cringed. My mother called me all day, every day during class and shit, tormenting me because I was in a dorm. Then she told the dean that she wanted me home, and even though the dean said it was my choice, I saved the whole school from my mother's tantrums and moved back.
I sighed. "That won't happen anymore. I doubt Theodore will take my mother's bullshit–"
"Theodore?!" Martha exclaimed.
"Yes, Mom, she's dating Theodore Trancy." Lula said, smirking.
Martha looked at me with huge eyes. "Your father told me that he was bullying you."
I smiled. "Use to," I giggled when they both gave me that look. "I got him on lock."
Martha and Lula giggle. "How did it happen, do tell," Martha said excitedly.
I sighed dreamily and bit my lip. "Well, we were kind of just playing stupid pranks on each other. And then, he got angry because I bruised his ego and he went about it so unexpectedly, he seduced me actually, then told me that he wouldn't do anything until I solved the case, basically kept playing with me until I did solve the case, then he asked me to be his girlfriend."
It was not exactly what happened, but they didn't need to know that Theodore fingered and ate me out with a vibrator stuck inside me and on my clit or that he fucked me in his brother's plane. They also don't need to know that Theodore and I are fake dating.
I get away from my mother and get to have amazing sex. While he gets to tell his mother that he's finally settled down and also gets to fuck that shit out of me.
"Stephanie." Martha teased. "You're such a bad girl!" she playfully shoved me, catching on to my terms of playing and wouldn't do anything.
Lula shook her head. "I always thought you weren't about that life. You know, just like your Mom."
"Lula!" Martha scolded as she shrugged.
I smiled. "It's ok," I rolled my eyes. "I mean she didn't lie–but no Lula, I could never be my Mom. It's probably why she always has a stick up her ass."
Martha gasped, and Lula laughed at her mother's reaction. "Stephanie!"
"Who has a stick up their ass?" Dad's baritone voice boomed.
I smiled as he hugged me. "Hey Dad!" I hugged him back, feeling very comfortable.
"Hello, Stephanie." Dad smiled.
"Hey Charlie, hey Timmy," I smiled.
"Don't call me that," Timothy side-eyed me as I chuckled.
"Hi, Stephanie!" Charlie hugged me.
Lula cleared her throat. "Go ahead and tell Dad what you told us," she giggled deviously as I glared.
Dad blinked cluelessly. "What?" He kissed Martha's cheek, and she beamed.
"Um, well, I'm moving out." I smiled.
"Good luck with your Mom, man," Timothy said, grabbing a donut.
"Thanks, I'm gonna need it," I replied.
Dad grinned widely. "That's great honey! Wow, your Mom isn't taking it too well isn't she?"
I shook my head. "Nope." I sighed.
"But whose house are you moving into?" Lula said, laughing when I flicked her off. Timothy sat next to her, watching me curiously for an answer.
Charlie was in his own little world, reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid on the dining table. Damn, that book is old.
Martha shook her head, putting her head on top of Lula's. "What am I to do with you, child?"
"Nothing," Lula smiled.
"What's Lula talking about?" Dad asked. "Where are you moving to in such short notice?"
"Well, Dad, I'm dating someone," I said slowly, gauging his reaction.
Martha and Lula giggled as Dad gaped at me. "But how?"
I laughed. "What do you mean but how?"
Dad facepalmed. "You're growing up too fast, that's all. I suppose this was secret because of your Mom?"
I nodded. "Um, yeah."
"Who's this man? I want to meet him."
"Oh Dad," Lula shook her head. "You have met him–" Martha covered Lula's mouth,
"Hush child."
Dad furrowed his brows. "Stephanie?"
I sighed. "Theodore Trancy." I blurted out. "I'm dating Theodore Trancy."
Dad's jaw officially fell off as Timothy gasped. "The detective?" Timothy asked.
"No, your uncle," Lula replied snidely.
"Might as well be!" Timothy exclaimed. "The man is almost forty–ow!" He exclaimed as Martha hit him.
I rolled my eyes. "He takes very good care of himself."
Dad licked his lips, searching for words. "Just wait a minute."
Timothy shook his head. "He sent you off to work and you came back dating the boss?!" he whined again when Martha hit him again.
"Stop being rude." she scolded.
"Um, Steph," Dad started back up again. "Isn't he just a little too old for you?
"No," I lied out of my ass.
"Stop lying, girl, he was thirteen when you finally came to existence." Lula pursed her lip, thinking this was funny.
"I'm gonna kill you," I smiled, placing my hands near her neck.
Martha smiled at my Dad. "They are two consenting adults, Hazen,"
"Yes, but–ah well," Dad said. "You seem happy and I know Theodore's a good man. He'll take care of you and I hope you'll do the same."
I smiled. "Yeah, of course." I knew Dad wouldn't be so mad about it, but I didn't want to tell him yet, just in case. I looked at the time. "I have to go see where the movers are right now, with my stuff. Hopefully Mom didn't do too much."
I hugged Lula. "Bye you stupid bitch," I whispered in her ear, and she laughed.
"Love you," she replied.
I rolled my eyes, hugging Martha and my Dad. "Bye,"
"Bye dear," Martha smiled.
"Do you have to go so soon?" Dad frowned as I hugged him again.
"Yes," I chuckled. "I need to move out today. I'll send you the address so y'all can visit."
Dad nodded but didn't say anything; he was too busy pouting.
I sighed and pinched Timothy's nose, and he glared at me.
"Really?"
I made a heart with my hands. "Yup!" I ruffled Charlie's curls. "Bye, Charlie,"
He looked up and smiled. "Bye, Stephanie!"
I left, smiling. I like spending time with my Dad's family. I don't know how they do it, but they're never toxic toward each other. Even as little kids, Lula, Timothy, and Charlie never fought like siblings usually did.
I think because Martha taught them to share at an early age, and they didn't have separate toys. They all had to share and thus were taught the importance of sharing.
I always feel envious of my Dad's family.

"Hi," I smiled when I met Theodore in front of his house. The movers had managed to get all my stuff without a hassle–or so I thought.
Theodore side-eyed me. "You better rock my shit tonight because I just had to pay a hundred dollars extra to compensate whatever trauma your mother gave our movers, then I had to find new ones because the old ones quit."
My eyes widened. "What?!"
Theodore huffed. "I don't like spending my money on unnecessary shit. And I'm not about to spend money on the shit your mother causes so please just...get her a therapist. You are not that special."
I gasped. "I am special!" I retorted, crossing my arms.
"Special education," he mumbled under his breath.
I pushed him, then shoved him for extra effect. "I heard that," I scowled. "I don't understand why you're mad at me. She's my mother, not the other way around."
Theodore shrugged. "You and your Dad enabled her. So you and your Dad need to set shit straight–god, I don't think I've cursed so much in my life." Theodore pinched the bridge of his nose.
I sighed, placing my hands on his stomach because I couldn't reach his chest without looking weird. "I'll make it up to you," I smiled. "Don't worry,"
Theodore looked down at me. "Good."
I bit my lip and smiled. "Great, now let me see what your house looks–"
"Stephanie!"
I jumped, startled, and turned around. "Mom?!"
Theodore sighed. "Deal with it," he walked away.
"But–" I sighed as he was already gone. "Mom, what are you doing–" She went past me and straight toward Theodore. "Oh shit!" I ran after her.
