Chapter 17

Ik, y'all tired of me, but I swear I keep forgetting to update this book

enjoy though

Theodore was back at work again. We had a new case. A personal one and Theodore wasn't happy. He said it wasn't normal for us to get cases this often, but here we are, and this was a bigger threat. This man or woman came into the BAU and killed an agent.

"Is it safe to assume that maybe we got Gabriel and this killer mixed up?" Judea asked.

I looked at Theodore because I didn't have an answer and he shook his head. "No, but we might have gotten their victims mixed up."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

Theodore sighed, going on the files. "This right now is just a theory but," he threw different cases down. "There's been a spree of murders happening in rich places, targeting the wives–housewives, working wives, wives with children–just wives of rich men."

Rosemary frowned. "What does this have to do with Penny?"

"Penny's the wife of a rich lawyer, Tom Garcia. They have two kids, Manny and Milan, both in a prestigious highschool." Theodore also added. "What I'm getting at is that this killer's motive might be jealousy–didn't make it in life–maybe university, getting a job, starting a business–he failed at something that these men didn't and he's taking revenge on them by killing their wives. Gabriel killed any woman he thought didn't reciprocate his feelings."

"But, in the security cameras, Penny came in early, way earlier than she was supposed to." I said, frowning. "In fact, she stole the key from the security guard."

Theodore looked at me like I was irritating him. "Exactly why I made this theory. She must've known. This man who's been killing wives has been doing one thing. Threatening. Children if they have kids and their own husbands if they don't. Those who don't care don't get killed because it wouldn't hurt the husband if the husband and wife never cared about each other in the first place."

"So, we need a copy of her messages?" Rosemary asked.

Theodore nodded. "We got her husband to open her phone and we'll get the copies in a few hours. Until then, dismiss–except for you, Lewis–I'm going to check the body."

Rosemary scowled. "It's not a body, that's Penny."

Theodore narrowed his eyes on his new prey. "Do we not call every dead person a body? Why are you acting like it's a problem now–in fact why are you here? Are you not just a receptionist."

Rosemary scoffed. "Penny was my–"

"Spare me the backstory, please," Theodore rolled his eyes. "I dismiss you so your ass should be out the door and not here trying to argue if Penny is a body or not–because she is a body. Penny. Is. Gone."

Rosemary gaped, looking at me before him again. "You really are what they say," she shook her head, disgusted by him before slamming the door.

Judea sighed, shaking her head. "Should've warned her. I'm sorry," she hugged me tightly. "I'll help you guys in any way I can. Penny was also my friend."

I nodded as Judea pulled away softly and left the room. Then I turned back to Theodore. "You're a homicide detective," I sneered.

"Thanks for stating the obvious." He rolled his eyes.

I seethed. "Have a little more sensitivity. You act like a dick and everyone deals with it. But don't be dehumanizing or you're a fucking idiot. You need to fucking apologize." Then I walked away and slammed the door.

How he told Rosemary off was disgusting to Penny. She was still someone we all loved–even though I've only known her for a couple of weeks. She was nice to me, something Theodore struggles with to this day.

I went home after work without Theodore an hour ago, and now I'm making spicy Buldak noodles because there was no other food. I was still angry at Theodore and I wasn't going to speak to him.

Even if he's now home with a Chipotle burrito with brown rice and steak. I just ignored him. "Are you actually mad at me?" He asked, to which I ignored, turning around to take my noodles out of the microwave. I heard him sigh and move closer to me, wrapping his arms around my waist.

I tried to move out of his arms. "Let go," I glared at him.

"I'm sorry," he said, making my brain malfunction for just a minute. "I apologized to Rosemary, ok."

I stared at him, doubtfully. "Don't fucking lie to me."

"I'm not." Theodore caressed my stomach. "You can ask her." He whispered.

I scoffed, licking my lips. "I will."

He laid his head down on my shoulder. "I don't like when you're mad at me." He brushed my hair back.

"I'm not falling for this 'nice' act." I ate some of my noodles as he watched in amusement.

Theodore smirked. "But I'm still forgiven?"

I shrugged, sitting down on his counter. "I guess." Theodore took my noodles and put the burrito in my hand, standing in between my legs.

"Eat it," he tried to kiss me, but I pulled away, furrowing my brows. "Give me a kiss," he grabbed my jaw.

"No," I tried to break out of his grip, trying so hard not to smile and break my anger. "Leave me alone, Theodore."

"I thought you forgave me," He raised an eyebrow.

I rolled my eyes, biting the burrito. "Ok, that doesn't mean you immediately get to have sex."

"I didn't ask for sex," Theodore poked my forehead. "I asked for a simple, innocent, kiss."

I glared up at him. "Stop playing games with me. I'm still angry with you."

"And I said I'm sorry," he rubbed my thighs, kissing my cheek.

"If I find out that you haven't actually apologized to anyone today. I'm going to bring up hell on you." I whispered against his lips before kissing him.

Then the kiss escalated because we're both horny adult freaks with free time.

"He did apologize to me, quite formally too." Rosemary said, obviously not moved by his apology.

"I was taken aback. I didn't even believe him at first." Judea said, sipping her green chai tea. "Are you guys really dating?"

Rosemary's head lifted up from her work and they both looked at me for an answer. I laughed nervously. "Well, um, yeah we live together and I got upset with how he told you off."

"What. The. Fuck?!" Rosemary exclaimed.

Judea's eyebrows went up and she laughed inaudibly. "Wow," she shook her head. "I can't imagine Theodore Trancy liking someone."

I shrugged, laughing. "I mean he asked and you know he's fucking fine."

"You want to be with a man so disrespectful?" Rosemary said in surprise.

Judea hummed, shaking her head. "Actually, I might have an idea as to why he was so on edge yesterday." She slid a file toward me. "These murders have been going on in his neighborhood. He didn't include that to us but I found out. He could be next and guess who this man is going to target."

I frowned. "Me."

Rosemary gasped. "Shit,"

"Theodore and some older detectives went to visit Gabriel yesterday and it turns out, this man murdering wives decided to manipulate Gabriel into doing his dirty work. He's been following Theodore so he knows everything you've been doing in your hotel room." Judea cleared her throat as I covered my face. "When this man figures out that Gabriel's deranged sickness was acting up on you he decides to give Gabriel a call, pretending to be some Cupid or some shit like Eros to mess with his already messed up head, telling him that you and Gabriel were meant to be."

Rosemary shook her head in confusion. "But how? Why is he targeting Stephanie."

"He's not targeting me," I said, furrowing my brows. "He's targeting Theodore and I'm in the way."

Hehehehehehhehe
