We reached Miami quickly. I almost forgot about my mom until I picked up my phone and found 1,405 messages and phone calls alone. I fucking forgot to tell her. I told Dad, but obviously, he won't tell Mom because she will scream and nag at him.
Oh my god. I'm in trouble.
Then, security tells us there are only two cars that can fit two people. Theodore looks at Gabriel and Judea and reluctantly has me join him in the car after being told that they can't squish three people and security in one car.
"What the fuck is wrong with your face?"
I rolled my eyes. "Quite the charmer there, Theodore."
He rolled his eyes. "You've been staring at your phone like you're about to blow."
I shook my head. "One thousand and four hundred messages and calls from my mother," I whispered. "I was so excited, I told my dad and not mom."
Theodore covered his mouth and looked away, and I narrowed my eyes. "Are you..." I scoffed. "You're fucking laughing!"
"Watch the language, Lewis." He mumbled, snickering.
"You fucking asshole! You choose for your first time laughing in front of me to be because I'm about to go through hell with this call?"
"Yes," Theodore took a deep breath and let his hand go. "Put it on speaker too,"
I rolled my eyes and did as he asked. "Hello, mom." I chuckled nervously.
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?"
Theodore snickered.
"I have–"
"HAVE YOU BEEN KIDNAPPED? MY POOR DAUGHTER. OH MY GOD, I'M CONTACTING THE POLICE."
"No! Mom, I'm fine, I'm at–"
"ARE YOU CRYING?! OH MY GOD, MY POOR BABY. YOU'RE MY ONLY BABY, PLEASE KEEP FIGHTING THEM."
I groaned. "Mom, please! I'm not a kid–"
"DON'T LET THEM TOUCH YOU. I'LL HAVE THE POLICE GET YOU AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!"
"No!"
She hung up, and I looked back at Theodore, who was laughing. He wasn't even hiding it. He laughed his ass off. He looked beautiful, so beautiful I wasn't even mad. "We might have to take care of this problem, but I'm not even mad, your mom is fucking delusional."
I frowned. "Not everyone can have a mom like yours."
Theodore cocked a brow. "What does that mean?"
A mother who's not overbearing and loves them like a normal person would. Sometimes, I don't even think what my mother is doing is out of love. It's more Rapunzel type, except I'm black, my hair is only long with a wig on, and I'm at least allowed to go out.
"A mother who truly loves you. I don't know if it's true, but I think my mom only loves me because I'm her only asset, the only thing that keeps her tied to the man she still loves."
"Your parents are divorced?" He asked, a little more serious.
I smiled. "Yup, my dad remarried and had three other kids which I love dearly, but my mom...not so much. He can't even visit me anymore, which goes to say I need to move out but–"
"She'd make all hell run loose." Theodore finished.
I nodded.
"Well, if it makes you feel any better, when I was younger, it was hard to really distinguish whether my father actually loved me and siblings or not. I learned that it's hard for him to show how he's feeling to anyone other than my mother."
"It must be hard."
"No, it's not. I just wanted to see the angry look on your face after I confessed a complete lie."
My jaw dropped, but I gracefully picked it back up. "You are such a whore–oh I forgot," I giggled. "You're a virgin, you incel."
Theodore's eye twitched in annoyance. "Don't ever call me that again."
"Or what?" I crossed my arms. "Mr forty-year-old virgin," I said loud enough for the security and driver to hear.
I was joking, but he didn't think it was funny. I didn't mean to say it so loud. I forgot myself.
"Stop the car," his scary voice boomed. The car immediately stopped per Theodore's commands. "Get out."
I laughed nervously. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say it so loud–"
"Kick her."
"W–wait!" I shrieked as the two security men threw me on the side of the road. "Theodore, wait, I'm sorry–"
The sound of the closing door shut me up, and the engine started again, leaving me in the dust quite literally. When I realized I was all alone, my body started to tremble. I'm scared.
As much as I wanted to be independent, I've never been alone in a foreign place. At least people here speak a language I can speak.
I texted Judea for the hotel's address, then I called an Uber service to take me to that hotel. I sighed contently when I saw the hotel twenty minutes later.
Who knew calling someone a virgin would get you kicked out. It was only a joke compared to the insults he's handed me. What a diva.
Judea and Gabriel were in the lobby waiting for me. I hugged both of them because I never felt so relieved in my life. "Oh god, I'm never riding with him again."
I pulled away, noticing Gabriel's face was pink. Cute. I giggled to myself. Maybe I can have fun.
Judea sighed like she had just received a call that her child had been fighting at school. "I'm sorry he did that to you. What did you even say?"
"All I said was that he was a forty-year-old virgin which technically he is–"
"Um, Stephanie," Gabriel and Judea's faces went a little pale.
"Hold on, lemme tell you the good part–"
"Oh?" A deep, taunting voice interrupted. "The part where you call me an incel or the part where I kick you out of the car to think about your words before you speak."
"Shit," I turned around.
Theodore cocked an eyebrow. "You still think it's funny to call me an incel?"
I shook my head. "No, sir, but if you know you're not then why fret?"
Theodore ignored me and went straight to the receptionist to get our rooms.
"Um, sorry sir, someone called and canceled two rooms and those rooms are now booked."
"What?" Theodore seethed.
"Um, you can fit two people in each room if that satisfies–"
"It satisfies nothing, woman." He growled. "Fuck, just give me the cards." The receptionist hands him the cards, and he comes back with a scowl on his face. "We need to share rooms."
"Oh, Steph and I can share one." Gabriel said, smiling charmingly at me.
I giggled. "Um, sure–"
"No need, you're sharing with me, Lewis," Theodore interjected. Gabriel looked furious."I wasn't going to share with puke-breath anyway." He threw a thumb at Judea.
"I–some people have sensitive stomachs," she defended.
Theodore rolled his eyes. "I couldn't care less. Archangel Gabe, you're sharing with puke-breath. Let's go big mouth."
I gasped, horrified at the nickname he gave me. "Hey! I'd prefer Lewis or maybe Stephanie, you know?" I called, running after him.
"I don't care." he said, entering the elevator without me.
"Fuck," I pushed inside the elevator and glared at him. "You should have let me share with Gabriel."
Theodore rolled his eyes. "You'll thank me later."
I scoffed, walking out of the elevator. "Yea right–wait, hurry up the elevator's about to close,"
Theodore smirked deviously as the elevator's doors slowly closed. "Might have accidentally clicked ten buttons too early. Might have to use the stairs."
I didn't even try to run. I was in shock. His teeth...they weren't human. I swear I saw...fangs.
Maybe that's your cue to stop watching so much tv, Stephanie.
I sighed dejectedly and took the stairs. It was probably part of the prank he just pulled on me.
I panted as I got to our door, knocking weakly. "Open up, Theodore."
The door opened two minutes later to a smirking Theodore in a casual, dark, academia-aesthetic outfit. "How the exercise go–"
I slapped him, made sure his face bobbed to the side too, then I smiled wickedly, pushed him out the door, and closed it. I laughed to myself. "It went just fine, fucker,"
I saw his keycard on the table behind him and decided to play a prank of my own. I plopped down on the bed and got comfortable.
I love sleep.

I yawned, stretching awake, when I heard my phone's alarm go off in my pocket. "Oh shit, I left him outside for too lon–ah!" I shrieked when I found Theodore sitting on the couch, calmly drinking coffee.
"You're awake. Great, we need to talk." The glint in his eye told me I was in trouble.
Oh, brother.
"How did you get in?" I asked groggily.
Theodore set his coffee down. "Enough with the pranks." He said.
I scoffed. "You started it! All I said was that you were an incel which I know isn't true. It was a joke. You proceeded to kick me out, ok. Then you make me share a room with you and then make me take the stairs to floor fucking fifty. I think me locking you out was the bare minimum."
"Exactly, I want this to end," Theodore said. "I don't have time to continue to pull pranks on you, and I'd rather not spend my time here looking out for your petty pranks. That being said, what you said about me in front of my men–"
"Again, I'm sorry, ok. I didn't mean to say it so loudly."
Theodore cocked a brow. "Are you done?"
I didn't say anything.
"Now, what should I do?" Theodore smirked, pulling something from his pocket. "What about this?"
My eyes widened. "How did you get that?!" I shrieked. "How did you get my vibrator, Theodore?!"
Theodore looked smug. "Don't worry how I got this, just worry about how I'm going to use this."
"What do you mean?" I said breathlessly.
"Take off your pants." Theodore gazed at me, undressing me with his eyes. "I'm going to show you how much of a virgin I am."
It's this quick. Yup
