Tired

Leo was Tired.

No in all honesty, he was actually tired. Physically and Mentally.

He was in Bunker 9 with Festus, tinkering him here and there for the final touches. His maker, Charles Beckendorf had left some notes for upgrading him. That, and combined with some new things that he had learnt in his free time, Leo successfully upgraded Festus.

Now he had no oil leakage, better screws and gears, and an all better function of being able to turn into a badass Maserati and Night Bolt Harley Bike, also having the function of getting converted into a light backpack instead of the earlier heavy briefcase. In all sense, Festus truly kicked ass now.

But even after all that, Leo still could not give him a voice command. But neither him nor Festus gave so much thought to that. That was because they had their own communication language that no one else could understand.

The language of squeak and screech, also a bit of morse code.

It had been close to a day and a half since he had been here, but still no one had bothered to check on him.

'Of course, who would check on a stupid Latino' ,thought Leo as his eyes felt on the verge of closing down for a long, long sleep.

Six months ago, they had won the war. A pretty great thing. But it wasn't won on baseless facts. When Leo died and woke up on the back on Festus back near Ogygia, he was truly happy. Going to meet back his sunshine.

He even got there. Took her off the island. But the first time they stop on land, that's when she broke it to him that she never truly loved him. It was her curse that made her do so.

She actually did not want to be with anyone. So Leo decided that it was best to be the understanding one. They together tracked down the Hunt then together, who were camping around near San Francisco that time.

With a heavy heart, Leo watched probably what was his last love leave his side and join the hunters with a huge smile of content. He left the moment she was accepted, as it was clear by the some of the glares that he received that he was not warmly welcomed there. So he decided to leave Calypso alone in a good company and be on his way.

Coming back to camp was not easy. Rogue air spirits, then a slight malfunctions with Festus took him a whole month instead of the week he had scheduled.

On coming back, he found the reception quite warm, which he was not quite hoping. Nyssa, Piper, Annabeth, Harvey, and surprisingly Percy all hugged him the hardest, and after that chased and gave him the beat down of the century for making them burn an empty shroud in his name. Also Nico was included in the beat down as he could not quite get over the fact that Leo cheated death without him knowing.

But soon the things changed after a week of his return.

First was the rumors. About him coming back to life by taking the Physician's Cure. Some of the campers who lost their siblings, friends or loved ones in the battle became colder towards him.

Like why the hell he deserved a second chance, and why not the one's they lost too were given the chance? Leo at the early stages, tried his best to stop these rumors or help them grieve, but afterwards simply became numb, giving no outward responses.

Second was the comments his friends made. Whenever the seven hung out, he could clearly notice the depressed mood amongst them. So he did what he could do best, crack some jokes and lighten the mood. For a few times it worked, but then Piper found it annoying, so she would shut him down sometimes. After then, for some reason whatever he did, all he would get in response was a roll of eyes. He got that in past, but now for some reason they hurt more.

Third and final was the hate. For some reason, whenever the Romans visited he was left out in the dirt by both the camps, even the seven. Apparently, the Romans did not quite forget the fact that he almost blew up their home, even for the fact that he was under someone else's influence.

This is why for the past four months he distanced himself from everyone, except his siblings. He wasn't really needed too. He wasn't battle prone to hang around at the training area, nor was he a fashion expert or a good gardener.

No, what he was good at was building. Forge was his home. Doing heavy fire work for his siblings and seeing their happy faces when their six hour job was done in just two with Leo's help, that was the thing that made his day. Whenever he felt the need to be alone, he would give the excuse of repairing Festus and retreat to Bunker nine for a day or two.

He even gave away his position as the Cabin Head Counsellor to Nyssa, as she was the one who was more suited for the job. This gave him more free time and less need to interact with others in the camp.

The relationships were also quite blooming in the camp. Annabeth and Percy were still going strong, taking a year off studies to come back from the horrors of Tartarus into normal, civilian life.

Jason and Piper decided to stay together and give a fresh start to their relationship. Things were going smoothly for them. Same was with Frank and Hazel. With Frank being the new Praetor and Hazel a new centurion, they were busy in duties but still found time to come at Camp Half-Blood for vacations and go on dates.

Surprise was when Leo found out about Travis and Katie. But more he was when he found out about Will and Nico. Death and Sunshine, perhaps the first time he saw this combo mix. He was happy for them, and he saw Nico coming out of his shell more and more everyday.

His thoughts were broken when he heard knocking on the door. He got up and cracked a few knuckles. Walking towards the door, he pressed a lever as the door slid open, to reveal an angry looking Nyssa standing with her arms crossed.

"Now where have you been mister," she asked while twisting his ear. "Ow ow! I was here only, tinkering Festus, what's up by the way," asked Leo as he got his ear released by his sibling.

"Two days, that's the time you have been missing from lunch and dinner. What have you eaten, or have you eaten at all?" asked Nyssa in worry, while Leo chuckled slightly. This was what he called Nyssa's mommy mode.

"Of course I ate, remember the plates we had at Argo 2, that would automatically fill up with what you wish, I might or might not have stolen a few for myself" ,said Leo sheepishly.

"Good now come on, the other members of seven were calling for you," informed Nyssa.

'100 dollars bet they have some work for me to do or build some other stupid thing' ,thought Leo as he nodded to Nyssa. Picking up his sword and strapping it to his side, he started following her back to their Cabin.
