they pushed open the doors to the cafeteria and were met with the sight of two boys who looked about the same age if not older than jungkook, hunched over a foosball table, turning and pulling at knobs viciously.

"hey! guys, i want you to meet someone!" hoseok yelled across to them.

the boys flick their heads up at the sudden voice and smile warmly.

"hoseok!" one of them with sandy-blonde hair exclaims.

they walk over to the pair and hug hoseok before offering a friendly smile to the stranger next to him.

"i would like to introduce you two to my roommate, jungkook jeon." hoseok says, placing a hand on top of jungkook's shoulder.

"jungkook, this is taehyung kim." hoseok remarks, pointing over to the blonde.

taehyung and jungkook exchange their "nice to meet you"s and shake hands.

hoseok then points to the boy next to taehyung, "and jungkook, this is jimin park."

jungkook sets eyes on jimin for the second time that day and suddenly feels a knot beginning to curl in his stomach. there's something about jimin, something different, that makes jungkook a bit uncomfortable. maybe it's the way he looks at him that makes him feel tension. he can tell by the glint in jimin's eye that he is a mischievous type and easily gets in trouble. he can also tell by the wide smirk on his lips that he has bigger meaning to the simple handshake that they share together. jungkook can feels jimin's eyes pore all over his body before lifting his head up to meet his eyes and smiling brightly.

"it's lovely to meet you, jungkook." jimin's voice fills the spacious room and his grin never leaving its' place.

"same to you." jungkook mumbles, looking at the floor awkwardly.

taehyung clears his throat to get rid of the silent void around them, "hoseok, where is your dorm at?"

"i'm in room 68." hoseok nods.

taehyung gasps, "i'm right across from you, or should i say we're right across from you."

"what do you mean "we're"?" hoseok asks, raising a brow.

"we as in jimin and i." taehyung answers in an obvious tone.

hoseok and jungkook's eyes widen at the same time except for totally opposite reasons.

"that's terrific!" hoseok exclaims, pulling his best friends into a group hug.

jungkook sulks his shoulders as he realizes that he'll be living parallel to jimin for the whole school year.

"that's... terrific." he mutters quietly.

jimin looks at him over hoseok's shoulder and smiles sinisterly, mouthing "see you soon." before winking and hugging hoseok tighter.

jungkook sighs and looks down solemnly at his shoes.

what a terrific year this is going to be.
