You Shook Me

Alexandra's POV

I wake up the next morning and begin to panic. Where the hell am I? My heart drops to my stomach when I realize that I'm in just a T-shirt and see my little black dress on the floor. This is definitely not my bedroom and I do not remember getting here let alone changing my clothes.

I hear the door handle turning and look towards the door in fear. Steve steps into the room and my eyes widen as I clench my jaw.

I didn't sleep with Steve.. I couldn't have! He wouldn't do that when I was wasted, would he?

"Good morning." He speaks softly, sitting on the bed beside me. He hands me a glass of water and some painkillers, which I gladly take.

He must notice my confusion because he chuckles before speaking. "You were a bit of a mess last night. After everything went down with.. Tony.. You got pretty wasted." He explains. "I stopped you from going too far and brought you up here to go to bed while I crashed on a couch. There's no way I was letting you drive home in that condition."

"Wait, so.. We didn't... Y'know..?" I ask, still trying to piece things together.

"No! No, of course not!" He says.

"Oh, okay. Thank God." I sigh in relief. I notice his saddened expression and realize that my comment might've come off the wrong way. "Not that I don't want to.. Just.. I was-"

"I get it." Steve chuckles, a slight blush on his cheeks. "If you're hungry, Scott made pancakes."

I get excited at the thought of pancakes and jump out of the bed. The quick movement causes me to get a little dizzy but Steve catches me before I hit the ground.

Steve opens the bedroom door and I squint my eyes because of the brightness. He chuckles at me and hands me a pair of sunglasses before we make our way down to the dining area.

"Morning Cap." Everyone greets him without really looking up as we walk in.

"Ally?" Bucky's raspy voice asks. He looks between Steve and I with wide eyes.

"Morning.." I speak quietly, my head killing me.

I see Tony giving Steve a death glare from across the table and hold my head in my hands. This is too much. Without touching any food, I get up from the table and walk away. Thank God it's a Sunday so I can go home.

I hear someone walking after me and groan, expecting it to be Steve. "I just want a break from this drama. It's too much, he's too much."

"Wow. Hurtful." Someone that's not Steve says from behind me.

I feel like throwing up as I realize who it is.

"I just wanted to apologize." Tony says, stepping in front of me. "You're right, I've been a terrible father."

"You haven't been a father at all." I mumble.

"Exactly." He sighs. "But I want to change that. I want to be a part of your life." He grabs my hand. "I want to be there for you, to have that father-daughter relationship." I look up at him as he speaks. "Is there any chance of that?"

I feel the built-up tears begin to roll down my cheeks. Tony pulls me into a hug, comforting me as best as he can.

"I'm so sorry." He whispers, making me cry harder.

"I.. I want to go home." I sniff, pulling away from him. "I just need today to sort things out."

He sighs and nods, letting go of me. "I'll see you tomorrow?"

I nod to answer his question, not trusting my own voice to be strong enough at this point. I get into my car, not caring that I'm in Steve's T-shirt, and drive myself to my apartment.

Once I'm inside, I collapse on the floor and begin to sob. My breathing becomes out of control as I curl up and let whatever this feeling is take its course.

Steve's POV

After Ally walks away, I get up to go after her but Tony's glare puts me right back in my seat. Instead, he's the one going after her. I sigh and try to eat even though I've just about lost my appetite.

A few moments later, Tony joins us back at the table.

"Where's Ally?" Nat asks, her mouth full of pancakes.

"She went home." He sighs.

"You let her drive home with a hangover?" I furrow my eyebrows.

"She'll be fine." Tony dismisses my concern.

"She's in no condition to drive, Tony." I raise my voice, standing from my seat to stop her.

"Who do you think you are?" Tony also raises his voice.

"I'm someone who's concerned about her safety." I say, my anger meeting his.

"Are you saying that I don't care about my own daughter?" He yells.

Before I can argue back, Bruce speaks up. "Daughter?"

Tony and I look at eachother, realizing that our argument has gone too far.

"Ally's your daughter?" Wanda asks.

"Yeah.. I um.. I found out a few weeks ago." Tony sighs, sitting back down in his seat. "I didn't want to scare her away by jumping into anything after her being on her own her whole life." He explains. "But I might've lost my temper last night and ruined any chances at being her father. I guess we'll find out when she comes in tomorrow."

"It'll take time, Tony." Nat says, giving him a sympathetic smile. "Don't try to rush her into opening up."

He nods, looking down at his feet. "I'll be in my lab if anyone needs me." He announces before excusing himself from the table.

All eyes turn to me and I shrug, not wanting any part in this drama.
