Chapter 1
"Sire! You aren't allowed to leave the castle, if the queen finds out it'll be my head! Passing by town square is enough! Why must we go and look around?!"
I glanced back at my bosom brother in mirth and begin to laugh, "You're being ridiculous brother!" I broke out in a run, ducking and weaving through the crowded streets, I turned around to glance at him again—not knowing that a young woman had appeared before me, and what happened afterwards became something that changed my life forever.
Due to my neglectfulness about my surroundings I ended up crashing into something, I turn around and lock eyes with the most fairest lady I have ever seen in my short twenty years of life.
"Beautiful..." I stood there speechless as I looked down upon her.
She quickly picked herself up and immediately dusted herself off before shooting me a glare.
"Sire-"
I turn and notice my bosom brother's eyes widen to the size of plates. 'A beaut isn't she?' I look at him in pride, already claiming the woman as mine.
"Sire!" His shout suddenly snaps me out of my thoughts.
"We must leave right at this moment..she's a witch!" I look at him stupidly before glancing at the woman surreptitiously.
'This woman... is a witch?' I turn back to the beautiful lady.
With luscious brown locks and deep red lips, eyes that sparkled like the ocean and the fairest of skins, I could not imagine her to be a witch.
The fair lady squinted her eyes, obviously out of anger. In the end, nothing happened and she made to turn around and walk away as though nothing had happened. I, for the life of me, could not stand to let this beautiful woman leave my sights forever.
"Wait!" I say, jogging up to her, she glanced at me coldly. My hair fell into my eyes, out of sheer embarrassment, and awe at her domineering stare.
"I apologize... for bumping into you... I'll buy you a meal in return." I said rubbing the back of my head, my face turned a brighter shade of red. I looked at my feet, and began to shuffle my feet. I had never felt this way before, and it was beginning to put an emotional toll on me.
'Way to embarrass yourself even more...' I pulled at my face, looking up at the blue sky. I waited for her to say something before looking back down at her from the corner of my eye.
She looked as though she was struggling with something in her mind, before she finally gave him the words he was waiting for.
"...Alright...since you're buying." She glanced back at him only to be stunned by his charming smile. She immediately turned her head away.
"I know the best place...following me." He grabbed her hand and pulled her along, unable to keep up the fast pace.
"Wait, Michael! Where do you think you're going?!" I could hear my bosom-brother shout out, but I ignored him in favor of the woman whose frail wrist I held in my hands.
It was till the point that he could no longer see his friend that he stopped to take a breath—a date should not have any third-wheels.
He looked down back at the beauty who was panting from exhaustion. Her crisp voice sounded, quiet enough that he had to strain himself to hear her.
"You...huff..." I can't remember the last time I ran like that, I feel as though I'm about to pass out.
"Oh...sorry, well then..." He grinned, before seeing her glare, then covered his mouth and looked away. Glancing at the poor lady he asked, "How about this?" He picked her up in a princess carry, and began to run again this time with no restraint, the wind licked at their ears, and they finally arrived at the establishment.
The woman had never felt so out of control in her life, this man really went by his own tune. She looked at him in surprise, even after being outed as a witch it's as though he doesn't care... he is so weird. I should keep an eye on his friend in case he spreads it to the whole village, but this man... She looked back at him... Maybe he won't be as bad as I think.
She pushed the stray curls away from her face, and looked at the building in front of her. It was small and quaint, noticing that the man had walked in she followed immediately after and smelled something extremely delicious. She closed her eyes at the scent, as she had been starving ever since she had arrived to this small town.
It'll be troublesome if I pass out from starvation after all. She looked at him from the corner of her eye. I'll just leave right after I eat.
"Amazing right? I go here all the time, when nobody notices."
She blushed and ducked her head at getting caught, Was he watching me this entire time?
"Could we have the best broiled mutton chops you have?" He called out to the people in the kitchen.
"Coming right up! Oh, Michael, does your mother know you're here?"
"Obviously not." He snorted, she wouldn't let me step in this establishment had she known.
"Come on," He grabbed her wrist again, and dragged her to an empty table before pulling out a chair, waiting for her to sit.
She blushed, her heart thumping at the gesture before looking away from him and sitting down in the chair. He pushed the chair in and sat opposite to her.
"Now... may you tell me what your name is?" He grinned again, and for the first time she smiled back, the blush still staining her pale cheeks.
Fool you've only just met the man, but it doesn't matter because we will not meet after this. She thought, before clearing her throat.
"My name is Aislinn. Aislinn Delacroix, a pleasure to meet you sir Michael." She smiled to him.
His face looked surprised, it was after a while that he regained himself. As I thought, she truly is the one for me, would you say love at first sight?
"Pleasure is all mine." He answered back, this time in pure happiness.
