Law stared out the window, worried Bepo might have trashed his whole place.

"Oi, over here! You've been staring out the window for minutes!" You waved in front of his face.

"Oh right sorry" He muttered and continued painting. The teacher was away for the week so she asked you to practice and paint with a partner and critique eachothers work.

"Is everything ok?" You were concerned. He looked completely out of it.

"Yeah it's just this sun is really bothering me... It's like, burning me so bad" He sighed. "It's probably because I'm not used to warmer weathers."

But the weather wasn't warm, and the sun wasn't strong. You frowned and observed him.

"When did it start bothering you so much?" You asked.

"I don't know, a while now" He faltered as he chugged down whatever water was left in his bottle.

"If I didn't know better I'd say you're becoming a vampire~" You joked, nervously. What if he was becoming a vampire?

"I think you're more than enough, no need for another vampire" He deadpanned, staring at you.

Your eyes widened and you stuttered, trying to respond. He simply laughed and gave you a sly smirk.

"I'm joking, y.n-ya" He spoke and grabbed his stuff, counting down from three to one, waiting for the bell to ring and left as he heard the bell go off.

You kept an eye out for him during lunch but he was nowhere to be seen, and you couldn't sense him anywhere.

"Looking for someone~?" Zoro teased.

"Shut it" You sighed and moved a bit so he could sit next to you.

"You like him, don't you?" He frowned.

"I don't!! I barely even know him!" You defended.

"I fell in love the moment I saw her." He chimed with a stupid grin. He was so in love with his little chibi girlfriend. They were together for years and years and not once did you see them fighting or separated.

I guess it made sense. But they both knew they belong to eachother. They were both mythical creatures, aware of eachothers existence, living in the same world of magic and wonders.

But you and Law.... You were from different world. It could never be. But for a split second you saw it. How happy you could be together, how much you could love eachother.

And it hurt. It hurt so much you felt like someone is squeezing your heart.

"Are you okay??" Zoro saw the pained look on your face and got worried.

"Yeah but you're not being helpful. Only made it worse you dumb marimo" You playfully smacked him, trying to brighten the mood up.

"Don't worry, things will get better" Zoro smiled at you reassuringly.

You could feel that he is really sure of his words but had no idea why. You just hoped he wasn't going to do something stupid.

Lunch was soon over and as you were heading to the library for free study, you saw Law exit the library, looking around to see if he has been spotted, then taking off and leaving the school.

"Maybe he isn't feeling well so he went home early" You told yourself as you browsed the books.

~Time Skip, Law's POV~

I got the book I wanted from the old skeleton and decided to head home. I had a bad feeling in my gut and I had learned to trust it at this point. I was worried Bepo might have done something or something might have happened to him.

When I got to my place, I could smell food. Weird, I didn't cook anything, and my neighbors always order take out.

Unlocking the door I stepped into the house, ready to fight whatever monster in there. But all I saw was a guy, wearing my clothes, cooking.

A guy with polar bear ears.

What.

"Who are you?!?!?!" I hissed at him.

"I'm sorry! You're home early!!" He stuttered, scared for his life.

"How did you get into my house?" I asked, reaching for my sword.

"You brought me in and gave me a bath and food." He whispered, terrified.

"I did not!!" I hollered.

"Yes! You did!"

That's when it hit me....

"Bepo?!?!" I gasped.

"Yes!" He said.

"You were a dog!" I sat down, confused.

"A polar bear" He corrected me.

Did I give bath to a polar bear and dry him without realizing it's not a damn dog?! Of course, how dumb am I?! He was too damn huge to be a freaking dog! And too fluffy.

"I just wanted to be of help..." He whispered with a gloomy aura. I felt bad. I got mad at him for nothing and now he's sad.

But....

"How are you a human now?" I inquired.

And in a blink of an eye he was a polar bear. But more....Human like.

"I'm a mink... We have this power...." He explained.

"Stay the bear form" I ordered. He was too fluffy and too cute like this, okay?

He simply nodded and checked on the food. It smelled so delicious and I was so hungry...

He seemed to be aware of this because he quietly served me a plate. I thanked him and we sat down on the small dining table and enjoyed the food. It was actually pretty great. Had been a while since I had some homemade, good food.

"Thank you" I whispered and I saw his eyes light up with happiness. So pure.

He explained to me how minks are and how they can change forms. Though, they could only keep their humanized forms for a certain time. Bepo could almost last a whole day. Impressive.

"He knew you" Kikoku whispered.

"Do you know me from anywhere?" I raised an eyebrow.

Bepo suddenly seemed nervous and muttered a no.

"They can't talk about it" Kikoku informed. I wish it had told me sooner.

"I just thought maybe we had met before" I smiled at Bepo, acting like I have no idea.

He shook his head and offered me freshly brewed coffee.

It was made so perfectly. It was the best coffee I had ever had!

"This is so good!" I complimented. He thanked me but he looked uneasy.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Are you going to kick me out now?"

"What? NO!" I laughed.

"I thought you would freak out... Humans don't know about us..."

"I've seen a lot of things" I assured. "You can stay here"

For some reason I felt really attached to him. I guess we were pretty close in my past life. Kikoku was quiet which meant he wasn't a threat. Kikoku usually lets out a unique screech when someone is a danger to me. I guess I could slowly get things out of this pure teddy bear.

"Just turn into your most dog like form if anyone comes over, okay?"

I didn't want my two work buddies to freak out.

"Okay, I'm sorry" Bepo said.

I made the little guest room ready for him so he could settle there for now and headed to my room. I was exhausted so I fell asleep pretty fast.

But when I woke up I was sleeping on Bepo.

"How did I get here?!?!" I wondered.

"You woke up and came here and muttered something about me being fluffy and fell asleep on me. Sorry" He said.

I was so embarrassed! I looked at the clock and it had been hours. He probably hadn't moved at all so I wouldn't wake up. I slept like a dead baby!!

"Thank you" I mumbled and snuggled the soft fluff and fell back asleep.
