Chapter 24- The Final Act

Four months had passed since Li Wei arrived in Orlando and traveling back and forth between his project. He had just wrapped filming, and in that time, life had shifted in ways he never could have imagined.

Harmony had become his entire world, and with every passing day, his bond with Sienna had deepened, threading together the frayed pieces of their past into something whole.

The morning sun filtered through the curtains of Sienna's home, casting a golden glow over the living room. Li sat on the couch, Harmony nestled in his arms, her tiny fingers wrapped around one of his as she smiled wide at him. The feeling was indescribable—love, fulfillment, responsibility—all rolled into one.

Sienna sat across from him, watching them with a soft smile. "You're getting really good at that."

He glanced up, a smirk tugging at his lips. "I had the best teacher."

"So, how's the planning coming along for the gathering?" Li asked, watching Harmony coo as he spoke.

"I'm sorry I haven't been able to help more. Between wrapping up the project and handling things back in Shanghai, it's been crazy."

"I've got it handled," Sienna assured him.

"I wanted to decorate myself, but Wynter wasn't having it. She made me promise to set boundaries, so I hired a planner. Everything's set."

"Are you sure your family is okay traveling this far?" she asked, scrolling through her notes. "I don't want them to feel pressured."

Li chuckled, shifting Harmony in his arms. "Seeing them on video chat is one thing, but in person... I know. You're nervous."

Sienna exhaled and moved closer. "It takes a lot to make me nervous, but this—this is different."

Li reached over, stilling her hand. "Sienna, they want to be here. They've been dying to meet Harmony in person, and more than that, they want to celebrate with us."

She sighed, leaning back against the couch. "I just want everything to be perfect. This is the first time both of our families will be in the same place. It feels... huge."

Li smiled, squeezing her hand. "Because it is. But we'll make it special, together."

The anticipation for the gathering built up inside Sienna like a slow-burning flame. She had spent the past few days making sure everything was perfect—double-checking the arrangements, ensuring Harmony's outfit was just right, and fussing over the tiniest details. Her nerves were a tangled mess, and Wynter had taken every opportunity to tease her about it.

Wynter helped Sienna set the table and noticed her fidgeting.

"Sis, they already love you," Wynter reminded her. "You've been overthinking this way too much."

Sienna sighed, adjusting the cutlery. "It's different this time. They're meeting Harmony. It's official now."

Her father, Thomas, patted her shoulder reassuringly. "Sienna, you're part of their family now, just as Li is part of ours. You have nothing to worry about."

Even with his reassurance, the moment Li's family arrived from Shanghai, Sienna felt her nerves become entangled. But when Li appeared in her driveway with them in tow, her breath hitched.

She maneuvered her way to the front entrance.

His older brother, Jian, was the first to greet them, his face breaking into a grin. "So, you're the woman who has my little brother wrapped around her finger."

Sienna flushed, and Li shot Jian a look. "Don't start."

Jian only laughed before crouching down in front of Harmony, who was snug in Sienna's arms. "And this must be my niece."

Li's younger sister, Ailian, appeared from the shadows, squealing as she rushed over. "Oh my gosh, she's so gorgeous! She's the perfect blend of you both!"

Their mother and father followed, their expressions shifting from surprise to overwhelming joy as they took in the sight of Harmony.

"You kept this from us for too long, Li Wei," his mother chided in Mandarin and English, though her voice was thick with emotion.

"I know, Ma. But we're here now."

Li's parents were equally affectionate, their kindness melting away some of her nerves.

His father, a man of few words, clapped him on the back before turning to Sienna. "Welcome to the family."

Throughout the evening, Sienna watched how seamlessly Li fit in with her family. Thomas already treated him like a son, laughing heartily at his jokes, while Wynter, once skeptical, had fully accepted him. Her brother-in-law and Li had bonded over the past few months, which meant double dates were now in the picture.

The sight of Harmony being passed around and showered with love from both sides of their families made Sienna's heart swell.

At some point during the gathering, Li gently took her hand. "Come with me for a moment," he murmured.

Curious and still slightly on edge, she followed him outside onto the patio, where the warm Florida breeze wrapped around them. The noise of their families faded into the background as Li turned to her, his expression filled with quiet intensity.

"Sienna," he began, his fingers tightening around hers. "I meant what I said before. I want to build a future with you."

"I've thought about what it means for us...for Harmony. I've spoken to my agency, and I want to take on more projects here in the States. That way, I can split my time and be here just as much as I'm in Shanghai."

Sienna's breath caught. "You'd really do that?"

"For you? For our family? Without hesitation." He exhaled, cupping her face gently.

"And it's not just about me. If you'd consider it, I'd love for you to work with my agency as a set designer. Your talent, your vision—it's exactly what they need. That way, when you and Harmony are in Shanghai, you'll still be doing what you love without leaving Sienna Designs behind."

Sienna blinked, absorbing the weight of his words. "Li... this is everything."

"It's only the beginning," he whispered as he placed a kiss on her forehead.

"Let's go back inside" he said, grabbing her hand making their way back into the center of the gathering.

Li clapped his hands together. "Families, can I have your attention please?"

The sound of happy chatter stilled in the moment and the only sound was Harmony's joyful squealing from Mama Wei's lap.

Sienna stood beside Li, curious and perplexed of his next move.

"I want to thank each of you for being here today with Sienna, Harmony, and me," he began.

"This gathering was about bringing our families together, but more importantly, it's about making sure Harmony knows each of you. You all have a special place in her life. Each of you ties her to her culture."

"Ma—you'll teach her our Chinese folktales. Thomas—I know you'll protect her just as you did your daughters. Jian—well..." Li smirked. "We'll discuss what you can teach her."

Laughter rippled through the room.

"Sienna and I love every single person here, and I appreciate my family for flying across the world to be with us. And I'm especially glad you're all here... so you can witness this."

Sienna face scrunched in confusion.

"Witness what Li?"

Li turned to face Sienna and stepped back slightly. Her heart pounded as he reached into his pocket and sank onto one knee. The box revealed a beautiful 3-carat halo oval diamond ring.

"Sienna Carter," he said, his voice steady yet thick with emotion, "I love you more than words can ever express. You are my home, my heart, and the mother of our beautiful daughter. We've been through so much, but through it all, my love for you has never wavered. I don't want to waste another moment. Will you marry me?"

Tears blurred Sienna's vision as she gazed down at him, the depth of his love radiating in his eyes. With a trembling smile, she nodded. "Yes, Li. A thousand times yes."

The claps and shouts that erupted from their family's approval made Sienna burst into tears.

He slid the ring onto her finger before standing, pulling her into his arms as their lips met in a kiss that spoke of love, forgiveness, and the future they were about to build—together.
