Erasermight - Insomniac - current

Aizawa had always had trouble sleeping. Since he was a little kid. He'd be awake at three am, never able to sleep, cold in his bed. He would eventually go up to go sleep in his parents' bed, because then at least he wasn't alone throughout the night.
He couldn't ever sleep at night and he fell asleep during the day, but only for a hours at a time. This continued all throughout his life and he didn't know why. It got worse, hours of sleep turned into halfs, then those into halfs, and now he could barely get through the lunch break asleep.
He took Zolpidem, yeah, but it didn't seem to grant him more than drowsiness and more torture. He was drowsy, yawned every two seconds, he could barely create a cognitive thought, and he felt himself dosing off in the middle of conversations while he continued his statement as if he were awake even though he wasn't and didn't remember it when he was snapped back to reality. Sure, it granted him a few extra minutes in the rare instances he could get to sleep, he slept for an hour or so afterward, but it was hell still. It made him more tired, but didn't help his ability to sleep.
That didn't stop him, though, and Toshinori personally thought he was addicted to it. Not in a funny way, like Hizashi sometimes jokes about it around him, but he thought it was a problem and feared him accidentally overdosing. It wasn't that over the top of a fear, he sometimes saw Aixaea take two or three 10 mg tablets even though he was only supposed to have one. It was what desperation did to you, he guessed, but he was really scared.

Aizawa always looked tired. He always looked like he'd not gotten a wink of sleep. But today? It looked ten times worse, like he hadn't slept throughout the entire weekend, Friday, and Monday - which was a holiday and therefore didn't house school. He looked like he could barely keep his legs from holding himself up. Most faculty and even some students noticed, Thirteen being the first to come up. He was vey observant and realized the second he laid eyes on Aizawa. "You alright? You look really tired." He'd asked, and Aizawa just gave a sort of glare. "You all know I don't have a internal clock." it was all he said. His eyes were bloodshot and the tips of his ears were a little red.
Everyone knew how he'd react, he just walked right past Thirteen. Yet, the younger of the two didn't want to let him go this time. He was... really worried. "Maybe you should sit today out, you need some sleep."
"I'm fine. I'll take some medicine."
He closed the door to the teacher's lounge right in his face and went to a medicine cabinet. He pulled out the bottle of Zolpidem and sighed harshly, just able to feel Hizashi's aura. He wasn't in the mood and the second he laid eyes on the guy his irises ran golden* and his hair flew up slightly, giving a soul-shattering death glare.
Hizashi hadn't even said anything but he knew he was about to scream in his ear, even if he was just saying a goodmorning, Aizawa was not in the mood for that.
Hizashi knew him long enough to know jot to mess with him when he had that look on his face, just signed an apology, knowing Aizawa knew what he was 'saying', then lingered on the eye contact as he walked to the couch. He was terrifying but hard to look away from.

Then Toshinori, All Might, the symbol of peace, walked into the room. He was the only one Aizawa could really stand, the guy wasn't overly happy or loud, wasn't on his ass, but still was there. "Goodmorning, Shōta." he said, then walled over, giving him a little kiss on the cheek. They'd been officially together for, what, a few months now? Toshinori liked to give lovins and he knew Aizawa appreciated them even if he didn't show it.
"Morning." Aizawa tilted the bottle and tapped it fucking six 5 mg tablets onto his palm, grabbing the bottle of water he had, taking a drink, and then he went to pop then all in his mouth when Toshinori's hand stopped him. "Woah, woah." He stopped, looking Aizawa right into the eye. "You're only supposed to take two of the small ones, you said."
"Two of the big ones didn't work throughout the break so I'm not gonna fucking try it again."
"You're gonna make yourself sick, Shōta.. Just take your dose, maybe that's why it makes it worse, because you take too many and it cancels out."
Aizaea looked at him for a second, then gave him that sarcastic, painfully forced smile. He put four of them back into the bottle, then took his dose with little trouble - he never had trouble with pills, no matter the size. "Happy now?"
He nodded but Yagi wasn't happy. He was genuinely worried for his fiancé, "Shōta.." He sighed. "Get some sleep, okay? We can call in a sub, you'll be fine, you just need to sleep."
Aizawa took another sip of water to get the bitter taste out of his mouth, then licked his lips as a way to keep them from getting chapped. "I didn't skip a day when my entire body was wrapped in bandages and most of my upper-body's bones were broken, you think a little sleep deprivation is gonna beat that?" Aizawa started to walk past Toshi, but he caught his arm. "At least try to have a small nap before class begins? You have almost a half an hour."
The shorter looked at him for a good solid twenty seconds, then sighed. "Fine. Hizashi?" he turned over, and said blond looked up at hearing his name. "Yeah?"
"Can I borrow your headphones?"
"I got some extra earphones you can keep!" He walked over snd sifted through his pockets till he found a pair of Bluetooth earphones, connected to a sort of necklace that had the pause, volume control, and power buttons. Aizawa thanked him, then went to the couch, Toshinori following him. He knew Aizawa didn't like being alone, especially when he slept since he felt helpless and unguarded, so he'd be there if it helped.
Aizawa figured out the earbuds, played his song, took one look at the Toshi sitting next to him, then laid his head in his lap, got comfortable, and closed his eyes, trying his best to go to sleep.

Maybe Yagi was magic, maybe sheer coincidence, or maybe the right dose really did do wonders, but Aizawa was out like a light.
Toshinori didn't have the heart to wake him. He sat there, even after his legs fell asleep and even after the lunch bell rang. He knew Aizawa barely got sleep at all and that man slept through the entire day, he was not about to wake him. The guy was going to wake on his own, no matter what.
He convinced Hizashi not to talk loudly, even if he wasn't using his quirk, yet he couldn't escape the picture that Nemuri took of then and was probably going to post on every social media site that existed. But Toshinori didn't care. As long as the poor guy was getting the sleep he direly needed, he didn't care what happened.

Something short and sweet. I wanted to touch on this for a while because I think Aizawa has insomnia rather than narcolepsy like a lot of people do.
Hope you guys enjoyed this one!

* in the manga, Aizawa's eyes turn gold, not red.
