Chapter 3
Early Notes! Reverse AU - This story takes place during the USJ arc. However, Shigaraki will be replaced by BBB Reverse making him the main villain in this one-shot.
Warning! Mention of blood and gore!
***
The advent of Quirks seemed like some ancient happening, but it was relatively history.
It all began in China. When one day, a glowing baby was born! From then on, people with exceptional bodies began appearing all over the world.
They called it the reign of superpowers. Much like those you usually read in comic books, but now it is a reality before our very own eyes.
Then, people called these unique attributes as "Quirks" and before we knew it eventually 80% of the population had a quirk.
In other words, this society is overpowered by those who had superpowers and once you have power in your hands of course there will be...
Good and evil.
Those who wanted to protect and save people and act as the pillar of uprightness and rectitude were called 'Heroes'. They were the agent of justice, guardians of meek, foils to the mighty, yes that's the society that has been named heroes. Basically, every human adored these kinds of people.
However, in this mortal world, wherever there is light, there are also shadows. As long as the concept of winners exists, there must also be losers. The selfish desire of wanting to maintain peace causes wars and hatred is born to protect love.
And the shadows were called 'Villains'. A group of people who used their power for evil, crime surged, law and order crumbled as well as chaos reigned. These outcasts were power-hungered, the catalyst of crimes, ruthless, sometimes unpredictable and of course their blood-lust was something far worse than any monster exist.
Yes, these are the catastrophe that stands in the middle of a happy ending.
So, which league are you in?

Beware the power of the dark side - Tom Angleberger
The night sky was aglow with bright city lights, the pale crescent moon shone like a silvery claw against the hazy grey sky, occasional barking of faraway dogs broke the silence of the night. Wintry wands, waved by nature's hand, take on a bold silhouette in silvery air, sometimes "eerie" is as pretty as wild summer flowers.
At the end of the alleyway, desolate street, a solitary brass lamp, itself half lost in darkness, was mounted upon the crack mouldy wall. In the same pathway stands a young boy, 5'4 feet tall, blood-red eyes looking down pathetically at the lifeless body of his prey.
A once living human but now was already dead.
Blood. Every inch of the small lane was covered with human blood, scattered on the wall and pooling beneath the murderer's muddied grey boots.
An evil grin spread across the young man's pale face, which wore an expression of pure delight, savouring the scent of freshly spilled blood. There was a ravenous look in his red eyes, like he descended into unforgiving madness, that only one who had seen true death could have.
"Ah... I'm living the life here..." his voice echoed, totally satisfied with the hard work he pulled in creating the magnificent art before him.
At first glance, we could tell that the victim died full of grief and agony at the hands of the young killer. The lifeless body was strike thrice at the head, neck and back, leaving a shallow wound that none could possibly survive from blood loss. Somehow, his wasp-like wings were torn off from his back, adding more fatal injuries that lead to his death.
"Finally, one pathetic hero down and thousands to go." He swung his blood-stained knife, thinking for another possible candidate he should slaughter.
After a moment of silence accompanied by heavy thinking, his phone rang, begging to be answered. The young man immediately rolled his red eyes, unamused, upon seeing the contact name on his phone. He hummed a bit, drumming his fingers on the screen, maybe thinking if he should answer the annoying call or not. Finally, he picked it up after the second call.
"Sorry, the person you're calling is currently unavailable. Please, don't leave a message or else he'll have your heart on a stick and burned crisp it like a marshmallow..."
"I have a mission for you." A rough and mysterious voice was heard at the end of the line.
"Uninterested. Declined. Stop bothering me."
"Well, this one here involves killing a bunch of puny little kids or should I say a class of them."
"Are you a paedophile? Lame. Rejected."
"......" Apparently, the owner of the voice was beginning to feel irritated at the red-eyes boy, questioning why he took him as his new beneficiary.
"Does your reasons change if I told you that The Number 1 Hero is involved?"
"You can continue." There was a hint of curiosity in the boy's voice, showing his interest while the mysterious person on the line gave his explanation.
The boy's pale lips curled into a devilish smile, red-eyes sparked with excitement, clenching his knife, sticky with dried blood. The moonlight streaming through the night sky provided a clear silhouette of his figure.
"An attack on UA, huh? How lovely would that be..."
........................
"Hey! Did you guys read about yesterday's news?" Kaminari, a blonde-haired student with black lightning streaks on it, half-screamed, obviously trying to get his friend's attention since his classmates were too busy teasing the so-called delinquent and bully of the class.
"You mean The Stinging Hero, Hornet's death?" Kirishima directed a glance towards him.
"Duh! Of course, we knew about it! It's all over the internet and today's news." Sero snorted, showing them the article, he just read.
"Dude! I sympathize with the guy. His killer was totally merciless! I heard that his wings, limbs and legs were sent to his agency! And that nasty psycho even has the audacity to conclude flowers and a card with it!" Kaminari shivered from his seat.
"I know right?! What's worst is that the police couldn't even track the killer! As if the guy disappeared like magic or something." Sero added.
"There have been 13 cases of death but still no clue what the guy looks like, huh?" Sato hanged his head down, sighing.
Suddenly, the air got tense as the situation got slightly awkward. Neither of them was brave enough to continue the topic including an ash-blonde boy.
Why did you ask?
Because the said murderer was known for his inhuman and abominable acts. All of the victims that fallen into his blood-filled hands died in a tragic death. Electrocution, asphyxiation, squash by a rock, burn to crisp, drowned, choked by sharp vines, shoot to death and much more killing ways than a human brain could think off.
All that remains after the horrific and griming scene was a message that the murderer intently wanted to show to the world.
'REVERSE'
Every syllable enunciated in just a word, telling a story that a bloodlust monster existed and lurking behind the shadows.
"Let's... Let's not indulges ourselves furthermore in this discussion." Yaoyorozu's stuttered a bit yet her soft voice managed to break the silence.
"I'm sure sooner or later this awful person would get arrested." Iida gave his opinion.
"Yaoyorozu-san and Iida-kun is right! Besides, isn't All Might and the other heroes also involved in this case?" Midoriya, half-wounded from the previous exercise stood up and of course wearing a confident smile.
"Shut up your mouth, you damn nerd!" Bakugou growled in annoyance, eyes giving a sharp glare to the freckled green-haired boy.
"Kac... Kacchan!" Midoriya quickly sat back, visibly scared that the explosion user might pounce on him like the madman he is.
"Yeah! With the help of The Number 1 Hero, nothing is impossible! So, rest assured!" Uraraka nodded, lighting up the atmosphere.
The others finally smiled. The uncomfortable issue was successfully washed off from their minds, so they quickly shifted on another topic, relatedly about quirks that is, while some brave souls tormented a certain explosion user of course.
"Bakugou is always mad, so he doesn't seem like he'll be popular though."
"What the hell! You wanna fight!"
"We haven't known each other for that long, but it's so amazing that everyone knows your personality is crap steeped in sewage."
"What's with that vocabulary, bastard?! I'll freaking kill you!"
The others let out a cheery laugh, well not everyone since Midoriya was the only one sweating on his seat, amazed that the tables had been turned.
Spreading positive energy was probably the best before enduring a hard training by Thirteen-sensei and Aizawa-sensei, right?
But what they didn't expect was a huge surprise in store for them later on.
........................
Unforeseen Simulation Joint (U.S.J.)
"You shall learn how to use your quirks to save lives. You do not have powers so you can harm others. I hope you leave here with the understanding that you have powers in order to help others. That's all! Thank you for listening." There was a huge round of applause after Thirteen, the hero in charge of USJ, gave her small speech.
"All right, then—" Aizawa-sensei's words were completely deterred when a large black portal appeared out of nowhere, shocking everyone.
"What... What's that?! Vi... Villains?"
No, they were slightly wrong when only one evildoer emerged from the black mist. His orange hood covered half of his face, so they had no clue who his real identity was but for sure he was probably around their age.
The young villain stood confidently in front of them, steps away to be exact, hands on his pocket while his mouth curved into a mysterious smile.
Warning bells immediately blaring inside their minds, telling them that the hooded villain wasn't just an ordinary villain that they used to see on the glass screen! This person was the real deal!
"Hmm... All Might isn't here? I thought he was supposed to be teaching class right now? Is he slacking off or something?" The villain's blood red-eyes scanned around, like a hawk trying to find its prey.
"Bummer... And I thought I could kill him today..." He let a small sigh. A clear disappointment was heard.
"Hey! You guys are somehow related to All Might, right? Can you call him for me? I'll promise to spare your fragile life of course. But then... Maybe he'll come to me if his precious comrades and students are..."
"Lying lifelessly on the ground." The villain chirped. Then, a wide horrifying grin decorated his mouth added with a feral glint blazing in his red ruby eyes. Finally, activating his power.
"Everyone! Gather together and don't move—"
"Really? Don't move? Is that the best thing you could've think of?" In mere seconds, the hooded villain, now in complete white attire, stood behind Aizawa-sensei and Thirteen.
"What—"
"I sure hope you'll survive this."
"Maximum Optical Light Blast!" Without warning, he released a powerful light-based shoot attack on the UA teachers, inflicting heavy damage on the poor heroes.
"Sleep well dear heroes." The mysterious boy smirked, looking rather satisfied at the two unconscious bodies before him.
"Aizawa-sensei!"
"Thirteen-sensei!"
The Class 1-A screamed, still couldn't believe that the pro-heroes were easily defeated by the mysterious hooded villain. They began hyperventilating, disjointed thoughts as their mind zip from one unrelated thought to another, cold sweats and clammy hands, pounding heart, eyes widening in terror, getting ready to run as adrenalin surges through the body, while some were ready to engage in a fight.
What should they do? Fight? Run? Either choice doesn't seem to show a way to safety since the villain's quirk still remained a secret.
"I'm not that interested in fighting a bunch of weaklings, thank you very much. Besides... You can't use your quirk freely, can you?" The corner of his lips quirked into a sardonic smile, bored red eyes were now glancing at Class 1-A.
He was spitting out the bitter truth of the superpower society. The law had stated that quirks were not to be used publicly by any non-licensed hero and to be used to injure other persons under any circumstances without just cause and a hero license.
Hmm~ Thank goodness he's on the non-heroic side, no external restriction binding his judgment. He could do anything he wanted without fear of retribution and that includes playing the role of the death god lends his victims to the afterlife.
In an agonizing and excruciating way that is. Just the way he liked it!
"But I'll let you entertain me while waiting for The Number 1 Hero to save your worthless lives. So, who's first?" He gave them a smug expression, already declaring his win against them.
"BASTARD!" Of course, it was Bakugou who charged first, obviously pissed at the villain's arrogance. He had enough! Go to hell with the law! This guy was going down!
"Kacchan!" Midoriya screamed anxiously. He wanted to aid him but his feet were invisibly glued on the ground, refused to move.
"Interesting..." The hooded villain's bored eyes finally glinted with excitement, his previously white attire has now turned orange, lightning surged around his body as he summoned twin lightning swords.
"Lightning Speed!" The villain marched forward in tremendous speed, now inches away from Bakugou, locking his prey as he swung his sword at him, sending a monstrous electric shock to the explosion user, almost knocking him out.
"It was a nice first attempt though and a good warm-up for me." The villain proceeded in giving the explosion user a strong kick on the gut, sending him flying back to his group. Luckily, Sato and Kirishima managed to catch him or else Bakugou's defenceless back would hit the hard wall.
The others gasped, didn't expect that one of the strongest in class would actually lose that easily. However, Bakugou's rush actions also gave them a huge clue about the villain's quirk.
An emitter type one! A quirk that allows the user to generate and possibly control certain things, or alter existing things around them in certain ways.
"He can manipulate light and lightning..." Midoriya mentally noted.
"To think that he could also use lightning..." Kaminari swallowed hard. Obviously, the villain was more powerful at wielding that repulsive power than he is.
"Who... Who are you?" Midoriya screamed on top of his lungs. If the villain was looking All Might, then stalling time for the hero to arrive would probably be the best choice for now. Besides, it's also the best way to keep Aizawa-sensei and Thirteen-sensei safe from him!
"Who am I? Who am I?" The villain reverted back to his original form, pointed at himself and started to laugh. First softly, then louder and louder until it became a hysterical laugh, sending cold shivers to the UA students.
After a moment, he stopped, silence settle overhead, an intense and uncomfortable air assessed the situation.
Then, he slowly took off his hood, revealing his true face to the pesky humans before him.
"I am Reverse! Elemental Villain, Reverse!" The villain mused his name. A lovely name that represents countermand, the overturn of one's virtuous nature.
Reverse, as the name revealed, had blood-red eyes, showing blasphemous hunger that would cause one to cower and tremble, a maddened gaze that screamed sweet promises of pain and agony. His features were well-proportioned, indicating that he was quite the looker for his age. His lips were now curled in a horrifying glint, emitting and terrifying and overwhelming energy.
"It's nice to meet you UA's precious wannabe heroes!" Reverse chuckled darkly as his albino snow-white hair with some oddly brown hair strands swayed in the wind.
The UA students stared at the villain without blinking, becoming aware of one's own fast heartbeat, frozen and not being able to move, with some slowly placed a hand on the mouth, couldn't believe that the infamous murderer was standing right in front of them.
They felt nauseous, imagining the gruesome deed that the young killer has done. Who would've thought that a boy about their age has already fallen deep into that darkness peering? It was hard for them to even muster an image. However...
The white-haired boy was a perfect example.
"You're... You're kidding, right?" Kirishima took a few steps behind, trembling at the sight before him.
"It seems like we encountered an animalistic villain here!" Todoroki gritted his teeth.
"Everyone, take cover! It's best if we don't engage in a fight with him—"
Too late.
There was a swift sound against the wind, and moments later, something heavy slumped onto the ground.
"Asui! Sero!"
The UA students instantly panicked, seeing that their friends laid weak on the ground, warmblood pooling from the knife wound that Reverse inflicted on them in their chest.
"Next time, don't overthink too much or else the enemy could see right through you." Reverse chuckled, now behind Iida, a knife pointed at his neck.
"When... When did he get here?!" Iida's breath was caught in his throat.
"I have a hunch that you're somehow the leader of this pathetic pack." The villain started whispering near Iida's ear.
"You see president... I'll give you two choices. Help your friends and fight me like the brave hero you're or... run. Run like a worthless coward, begging for help from the pro-heroes because you know that you can never take me down. Not even in this lifetime."
Iida felt trapped! There was no way he could leave his comrades! But then, they were up against a ruthless villain, determined to get what he wanted and possibly doesn't care about killing those around him. They were just his play toys!
With all of his might, Iida pushed the villain away from him, starting his engine and ran as fast as he could towards the exit.
"I'm sorry everyone! But rest assured, I will find someone that can help us!" Iida inwardly thought to himself, tears spilled on his cheeks. He felt hopeless, a devastated expression displayed on his face, clearly ashamed of his cowhearted actions.
Reverse let a amuse chuckle, he felt terrific and satisfied when he managed to destroy the thin hope in Iida's dark blue eyes, replacing it with fear and grief.
"Attack him while we can!" Without missing a single beat, the UA students launched a large-based attack on the white-haired villain despite being scared of getting killed.
"A sneak attack, huh? How cute thinking that you could possibly land a scratch on me." Reverse grinned.
"Wind Shield!" A strong gust of wind covered himself, guarded him against the attacks, propelling them into another direction.
"What?!"
"Surprise? My turn! Wind Uppercut!" The villain collected his wind, then released a strong hurricane-like blast at his target, pushing them back as far as he could. However, some unfortunate souls got caught by the strong wind and were sent flying by the villain.
"Koda! Sato! Hagakure!" They yelled but their friends were probably on the other side of USJ thanks to the powerful wind attack.
Reverse was very much thrilled seeing the betrayed look on their face. "Now time to end this... Elemental power! Reverse Earth!"
His attire changed yet again, from blue and this time a brown-themed one. "Earth Pillars!" Reverse summoned large earth pillars from the ground, raising upwards towards his enemies and knocking them out in a single move.
"So strong..." Midoriya tried to stand up but his legs resist cooperating against his will.
Was this the end?
"Hey, you... Broccoli boy..." Reverse crouched down in front of Midoriya, their faces at eye level.
"Why do you want to become a hero?" He asked out of curiosity.
Midoriya gulped dryly, swallowing down his anxiety, finally answering the question given. "I want to save people with a smile on my face! I want to protect them from the likes of you!"
Reverse titled his head a bit, eyes flashing with a sinister glint while a horrifying grin decorated his mouth.
"Save people with a smile, huh?" Reverse slowly took Midoriya's right hand, cold pale rough fingers played with the greenette's ones.
"How can you possibly save people when... you can't even save yourself." The villain easily broke two of his fingers, earning a painful wail from Midoriya.
"See... You can't even stop me from harming you." This villain continued tormenting him, this time he twisted Midoriya's right hand, tearing off the ligaments which connect the bones, immobilizing Midoriya from using his dominant hand.
Midoriya cried in agony as pain sheeted through him with a terrible intensity. He knew that it was weak, that it was childish but the tears wouldn't stop flowing, and the pain wouldn't go away.
"Pathetic." Reverse said in a sickeningly sweet tone, followed by a childish giggle that made Midoriya's skin crawl.
"Hands off!" Todoroki used the opportunity given to attack the villain with his ice, trapping Reverse from moving.
"Ice, huh?" The villain let an amused laugh. "Too bad... I can control fire as well!" The fire quickly engulfed Todoroki's ice, melting it in mere seconds, shocking the ice user.
"You... you have a fire quirk?" Todoroki's face was now in horror since that specific quirk reminded him of someone he truly hates. His father, Endeavour.
"DIE!" Bakugou furiously charged at him, but the villain dodged him like it was nothing.
"Go to hell you damn freak! I'm not done with you yet!"
"We... We can still fight!" The others slowly stood up, refused to give up since there's still hope! A hope that they can defeat the villain if they just work together!
Midoriya soon followed them, despite the heavy injury on his hand, he was still determined to defeat Reverse!
"Ah... This is the scene where heroes usually stand up back, worn-out from fighting, mustering their very last energy in order to defeat the villains, huh?" Reverse thought.
Classic! Very classic!
The villain suddenly started to laugh, louder and louder, not forgetting on giving them a round of applause for their courageous act. One second, he's in silence and the next he laughed again. Apparently, the universe has a funny sense of humour.
"Is that so? You really think you could defeat me?!" Reverse hanged his head, then lifts it again, a dark glint flashing in his red eyes, blood-boiled anger was visible that needed to obliterate everything around him.
"How awfully stupid you are heroes. I think it's time I destroy that puny thought of yours leaving you with only despair to cling on." As soon as words left his mouth, a tense silence filled the atmosphere sending cold chills through their spines.
"Reverse Triple Split!"
.......................
The aftermath of the battle a was gruesome scene indeed. Everyone laid unconsciously on the ground, haltering their breaths, tortured sobs, injuries were all over their bodies, across their ribs, chests, arms and legs. Red blood spilled from their newly wounds, scattered everywhere, creating a blotchy pattern.
"How did defeat taste like?" The villain let a chuckle, slowly and painfully dragging Midoriya's index finger on the ground, probably writing something with his fresh spilled blood.
'REVERSE'
"They say that there's a line you have to keep in mind and there's at least an arm's length to maintain. Remember that no matter how much strong you'll get, you heroes could never defeat me." A smile fell on his lips, shoulder relaxed.
"Master." Kurogiri, his personal caretaker called him.
"I know... I know... It's time to crawl back into the shadows, huh?" Reverse stood up, dusting off the filth on his clothes, walking along with the mist-like villain.
"Aww! Too bad I didn't get to fight All Might today!" The young villain crossed his arms, lips curled into a pout as he slightly cursing his luck today.
"But then... It was fun pulverising those soon to be pillars of justice" Reverse whipped his head backwards, red eyes locked on the almost lifeless bodies of Class 1-A.
"I hope we met again heroes..."
