(Instrumental)

The opening begins with Hikawa walking up to the chair in her office in the radio station she works at. She takes a seat, connects her phone to the computer in front of her via a USB cable and opens a playlist she begins to scroll through.

Only when she stops and presses the song with Plushiewelius' silhouette as a cover does the instrumental actually begin, pulling the viewer through her glitching computer screen and into an overview of the True Digital World.

During the instrumental, the camera follows Nago's back as he walks through the empty city of the True Digital World, passing by statues of the seven modified chess pieces used by Plushie to explain the seven classes of Replicants.

It begins with Fangyre, then Wulfen, Fisher, Bystial, Wiccan, Ayakashi and Fraken, until he walks by the glitching statue of a Vader, at which point the scene changes and the vocals begin.

It's full moon again
Crazy how time flies

In the Kuonji household's bathroom, Hikawa stands in front of the mirror combing her hair before heading out for work.

Natsumi runs into the bathroom as she finishes, gaining Hikawa's full attention, who looks away from the mirror, though her reflection continues to comb her hair, its eyes yellow. It's her Replicant.

Hikawa's Replicant doesn't stay for long, as a violet holographic spider sudden crawls on her shoulder and bites her, revealing her Anima Core in her throat. A bullet shoots through her neck, destroying her core, and shattering her into glass shards.

One might wonder
If past path was in a right direction

The scene changes to a large library, where Uzuki, in his human form, is openly flirting with the cute teal haired secretary behind the counter.

He makes a glass flower appear in his hand like a magic trick and gives to him, but his image isn't reflected in the glass petals. They instead show his reflection in his alien form

But I do believe
Things come to life by accident

The scene changes to Mifune's car speeding down the highway as he chases a criminal, rooflight beacon flashing blue.

Though the scene begins with his car passing the camera, it moves to the inside of his car, where he changes gears to go faster. His Replicant is seen through the rearview mirror, being sitted behind Mifune and pointing his gun at his real self's head.

When it remains on
Sounds like it's meant to be

The scene changes to a shady office in the top floor of a building Mifune's car drives by, where a couple of suited thugs and pummeling the shit out of a defenseless guy on the floor.

Dazai watches over the group, being sitted on a couch chair with her legs crossed and arms on the armrests, with a glass of red wine on the table by her side.

The scene changs focus to her Replicant, who appears in the reflection of her wine glass, though hers is only a silhouette of herself with yellow eyes.

(Wake up) New space made when things fall apart

The scene finally changes to Nago, who sits on a couch with a pile of files on his left and Plushie on his right. Nago leans his head back and relaxes.

(Get up) What matters after ending's how you left a mark

Nago's head turns to water and bursts, staining the wall with splatters shaped like Levidras' head, mandibles wide open and divided by cracks like those in cracked glasses.

A laughing Gamadeus appears reflected in the stains on the wall.

(Don't wait up) Fire in my soul fire in my heart

The scene changes to three giant computer servers in the shape of cylindrical towers inside the moon.

The camera begins moving back, revealing a giant being made of black sludge with its torso chained to the main server and its arms chained to the two servers behind the main one, almost as if it was being cruifiied.

Its eyes are covered by bandages made of crystals, yet it smiles a wide smile with teeth exactly like those of humans and no lips.

'Til you see me on the other side of stars,
I'm running

The camera keeps zooming away, moving past the silhouette of Momoi Takatora, whose eyes are burning green.

All the journeys start some where with a first step

The scene changes to a blue background, where Dazai appears, her Commamd Code shining red, swinging a whip to destroy three Replicants. Their cores are pulled up, serving as the sacrifices that summon Grandogma, who places her hands around Dazai and blows a venemlus mist ffom her mouth.

The mist is blown away as Mifune takes stage, gun in one hand and phone on the other, Command Code also shining. He swipes up on his phone, making a card that he shoots fly out of it. As the card is shot, it release a wave of flames, summoning Aelquilibra behind him, who quickly flies past Mifune and at the camera.

No one's sure what lies ahead,

Then it's Uzuki's turn, who takes the stage in his alien form, Command Code also gleaming, swinging his thundering oni club as Mordalion follows him and makes daggers rain down.

Plushie swings into the scene and raises his arms, blowing away the raining daggers with a sound burst from Eledglema as it rises behind him.

Be bold and brave (stand up)

Plushie shivers and tries to fly sway as his big bat leaves, but Hikawa runs in, grabs him by the tail and uses him as a hammer against from Replicants. She holds the hand upon which her glowing Command Code is imprinted on up to her throat, her lips parted as she utters a command. Luticia appears behind her, arms wide open and eyes closed as she sings to create a barrier around Hikawa and Plushie.

Roads may be rough and tough

The scene changes to a white space, where Nanako is frozen in time. Her head is craddled by the hands of a woman with long red hair, her bangs covering her left eye, and a ring on each of her ring fingers.

Though it will lead some where

The scene shifts to a teal haired girl who resembles the guy Uzuki was flirting with running through the True Digital World as Replicants chase her down.

(Nothing easy get up and go get it go)

Nago falls into the True Digital World's sea alongside Levidras, the full moon's reflection on the water covering the two.

Sometimes it's journey itself that teaches
A lot about the destination not aware of

Nago's closed eyes shot open as shining golden bubbles flow up from his mouth, each a memory of his time with Nanako in his youth.

The bubbles rapidly cover Levidras, transforming him into Levidras Empireo, who bursts out the water and flies up to the full moon with Nago riding on his head, casting his shadow down on the True Digital World.

No matter how far (no matter how far)

The scene focuses on a smirking Gamadeus, who stands across Nago and Levidras in the sky.

How you go (how you go)

The focus returns to Nago as he projects his blue sword into existence.

How long it may last
(Carpe Diem, no time to waste)

As Nago moves his left hand to create the sword's blade, he gets younger until he turns into his eight year old self.

He looks back at five people with school uniform who have their backs turned to him, all holding their right arm and closed fist up.

The one most to the left is a boy with neck-length blonde hair.

By is his side is a girl with long pink, almost red, long hair and smoke coming the lower left side of her face.

By her side is a girl with long white hair, a portion of it tied by a black bow.

Next to her is a girl with dark skin and black hair.

And the one most to the right is a girl with long, red hair.

Venture life burn your dread
(You gotta venture life go get it burn your dread)

The younger Nago smiles and looks ahead, returning to his current self, who is now standing with his sword finished and his friends by his side, all riding on top of Levidras as he charges at Gamadeus.

(Instrumental)

The opening closes with each of the Eliminators and Interceptors walking out of a gate between the two worlds and returning to the real world.

The first is Uzuki, who sends the viewer a flying kiss; then Mifune, who straightens his jacket; then Dazai, who holds a blissful Plushie tight against her chest; then Hikawa, who runs through the gate pulling Nago along.

Nago stops and looks back at the gate and the viewer. He throws an Archetype Cray cube, which bounces off the ground and flies at the camera.

The title "VANGUARD/REPLICANT" appears on the surface of the cube that's facing the camera.
