||The Show has Started||

~||Aya's (P.O.V.)||~

Me, Darren and Steve found our seats and waited for the show to start. As I waited Steve and Darren talked and I was left to look around. To my surprise there were alot of people here. Fancy, none-fancy common folks.

Then trumpets started to play loudly. It annoyed me, yeah but soon died down. But this 'thing' in a cage appeared and the trumpets were replaced by the screams of the aduiance and growls and snares of that 'thing'!

I soon realized that ugly thing was a wolfman!

(...But is it really a wolfman? Stuff like that exists in movies and anime! Not real life.) I told myself. As soon as I was going to ask myself more question, Mr. Tall came out. And then the wolfman calmed down a bit, enough for Mr. Tall to talk.

"Ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the Cirque du Freak, home of the world's most remarkable humans being.

"We are an ancient circus. We have toured for five hundred years, bringing the grotesque to generation after generation. Our lineup has changed many times, but never our aim, which is to astound and terrify you! We present act both frightening and bizarre, acts you can find nowhere else in the world."

I thought he'll stop and start the show, but he continued talking and explaining...

"Those who are easily scared should leave now," he warned us, "I'm sure there are people who came tonight thinking this was a joke. Maybe they thought our freaks would be people in mask, or harmless misfits. This is not so! Every act you see tonight is real. Each performer is unique. And none are harmless."

With that he walked off staged and soon two lovely ladies in shinny suits came out. But to my surprise they unlocked the wolfman's cage and let him out! Some people looked scared but none left.

Why would they risk everyone here? Wait, it might really be a wolfman, or then again someone might be acting like a savaged beast... Yeah that's it... I think...?

The yelping and howling of the wolfman snapped me back reality and soon saw one of the ladies hypnotize him with her fingers. Then the other lady turn to us and said,

"You must be very quiet. The wolfman will not be able to hurt you as long as we control him, but a loud sound could wake him up, and then he would be deadly!"

After explaining that they walked off stage and walked with wolfman around the theater. He's hair or fur was a dirty gray color.

As they walked him they kept warning us to be very quiet. Finally it was our turn and me and Steve pet him gently. Darren didn't touch him, probably scared he might wake up and bit him.

"How did it feel you guys?" He asked us.

"It was spiky," Steve replied, "like a hedgehog, and it smells strange, too, like burning rubber."

As they talked I thought about how it felt. It was real, no seams or anything. There was no doubt that that was a REAL wolfman! But then again it might just be a person who just acts as a wild beast to scare us. If I saw it in action that would close the deal and make me believe it really is a werewolf.

BANG!!!

That snapped me to reality and my eyes automatically shifted to the wolfman, who now snapped out of the trance and began roaring! He shoved the ladies away and headed for the nearest people to it!

We were safe and the people that were near the beast reacted quickly and moved away. Sadly... one woman wasn't quick enough and he was on her in a matter of seconds. Dragging her, while she screamed at the top of her lungs! He dug he's teeth in her as she tried to push him off her and with a yank... he bit her arm off!

Ok... Now I believe that that is the real deal..!

I looked around and saw some people freaking out, others fainted, other started to runaway too! But then out of nowhere, Mr. Tall appeared behind the wolfman, and wrapped he's arms around the beast. It struggled and I think he whispered something into its ear and he calmed down. Then he led the wolfman back stage. The ladies in suite told everyone to calm down and take their seats.

I'll admit. That was scary, but I didn't fear it or maybe I just couldn't react right? Who know but we weren't far from the wolfman, it could have turn to us any moment. But I didn't move nor did Steve and Darren.

Steve had a face of amazment while Darren on the hand, he's face was in fear and shock

for what he just witness. I on the other hand, didn't know what to feel..?

Screaming again, brought me back from my thoughts. (I really gotta get my head out of the clouds) I told myself. The screaming was of that woman, who's hand it leaking so much blood covering the floor and people with it.

Ahh, eww... I'm a fan of gore and that stuff but to see it in real life... No thanks...

Mr. Tall returned to us and walked towards the severed arm, picked it up and whistle and two little people in blue robes with hood ran towards him. He then turned he's attention toward the screaming woman and sat her on a seat I think he whispered to her and just like the wolfman, she stopped screaming but stiffen up a bit.

Mr. Tall took hold of the wrist and put he's hand into he's pocket to pull of a small brown leather pouch. He opened the pouch and sprinkled some pinkish dust into the bleeding arm. And sticking them together they sewed it and whst a surprise they moved!

She was shocked herself and to make sure it was ok, she shook it above her head and it was good as new. The crowd gasped in wonder and amazement!

Hell, I was pretty blown away too! And I'm sure Steve and Darren are too.

"Maybe that's not good enough!"

Someone shouted out, and as he step foward one could obiviously he was in rage.

"I'm her husband, and I say we should go to a doctor and then the police! You can't let a wild animal like that out into a crowd! What if he'd bitten her head off?" He said.

"Then she would be dead," Mr. Tall said calmly.

"Listen, buster," he tried to continue, but Mr. Tall interrupted.

"Tell me, sir, where were you when the wolfman was attacking?"

"Me?"

"Yes. You are her husband. You were sitting beside her when the beast escaped. Why did you not leap to her rescue?"

Ouch! That had to hurt him and I'm sure their relationship might end cause of this. Hell, I would have ended it. I mean if it was me and I was attacked and he did nothing, well... Bye bye deary~!!!

No matter what he said, he knew he couldn't win. And the answer was simple as to why he couldn't win. The answer: he was only interested in saving himself.

And so Mr. Tall turned to us and spoke once more.

"Listen to me. I give fair warning. I said this show could be dangerous. This is not a nice, safe circus where nothing goes wrong. Mistakes can and do happen, and sometimes people end up a lot worse off then he's wife. That's why this show is banned. That's why we must play in old theaters in the middle of the night. Most of the time, things go smoothly and nobody gets hurt. But we cannot guarantee your safety."

He looked around at all of us and continued," We cannot guarantee anybody's safety," he roared. "Another accident like this is unlikely, but it could happen. Once again I say, if you are afraid, leave. Leave now, before it is too late!"

Some actually left after he was done. This time they understood what might be at risk.

I looked over to the boys and as a somewhat responsiable adult ask,"So shall we leave you two?"

To be honest I wanted to see this through to the end. It cost me alot of money!

Darren looked at Steve and said,"Do you want to go?"

"Are you crazy!? Its getting good! Why? Do you want to go?"

"No..." Darren said.

He seemed unsure and mostly lied. I smiled kindly at him and patted his head. And lean in close and whispered to him,"Don't worry. I'm here I'll protect you and Steve with my life hehe."

I gave him a thumbs up to reasure him! He cherred up and I guess he got enough courage to stay and watch the whole show.

No turning back now hehe!
