Adam was not there in Miss Carter's class today. In fact, I had not seen him the whole day. Last night I was awake thinking why he looked so upset. I get too curious sometimes. When I was a kid everyone used to say I was the curious kind, always putting my nose in other's business. It was really hard for me not to ask him anything about it on that day.

"Pax is coming this weekend," Geena said, nibbling at her chocolate.

"Why is he coming again?"

Paxton is in his freshman year of college. Me, Geena and Paxton are best friends, being a year older and smarter than us he had graduated before us. He lives in the college dorms now, sometimes he comes to visit us during weekends. But, the thing is he had already visited us two weeks ago, so it was weird that he decided to visit us again.

"Maybe he lost his brain cells last time and is coming to pick them back up." Geena started laughing at her own joke.

"Do you want to throw a party this weekend?" I said to Geena. We had never thrown a party for Paxton since he had graduated.

"Party?" Her eyes immediately lit up. "But why suddenly?"

"We had never thrown a party for Paxton and you love parties. I do not have anything to do this weekend anyway."

" I love you Rora" Geena started attacking me with her hugs. Am I going to regret this?

The short answer is yes. I absolutely regret this. I forgot how hard it is to organise a party. I have been trying to arrange the cups for two hours now. It really is hard. Currently we all are decorating Geena's house. Inviting people is probably the easiest part of organising a party. Something in which Geena decided to take over.

I was too engrossed in my thoughts that I did not hear someone walking towards me.

Thud

A person collided with me suddenly. The guy's head and mine collided resulting in a nasty sound. Is his skull made of stone? The impact was too much and threw me backwards but I did not land on my butt. Looking up I found Adam looking at me with me in his arms. Don't these things generally happen in movies?

Huh? Were there butterflies in my stomach? No, it's probably because I am nervous. But what am I nervous for?

"Are you okay?" Adam asked, looking at me.

"Just chillin" Ugh. Why would you say that?

Smiling at me once, Adam looked over to check the guy and immediately winced. The guy is big and muscular as he is tall and I had never seen him before. He was probably one of the guys Geena had invited to help us organise the party in exchange for as much food he wanted to eat. He was holding his forehead where blood was slowly trickling down from. I winced too. Looks like his head is not a stone afterall.

"Should we go to the hospital?" I said while helping him stand.

"No, I think it’s minor," Adam said, looking over his injuries. " I should stop the blood before I do anything else though."

"I am so sorry" I said for the tenth time.

"No, it's my fault I didn’t see you" the guy said the tenth time.

I was looking as if I would start crying any second. Adam was currently securing a temporary bandage on his forehead. After making sure the bandage was secure, a couple of Geena's friends volunteered to take the guy to the hospital. He declined, and Geena’s friends raced off to get beer.

"What a bloody mess" Adam said looking at the car which was already out of our sight.

"Yeah..." I tried looking at the car which was out of our sight now.

"You are good at emergency first aid."

"Yeah, my father is a doctor." He said.

"What are you doing here?" I looked at Adam curiously as if his eyes would tell me the answer.

"I am friends with Paxton, don't you know?" I sometimes forget that Paxton used to be close with many people in Redwood High.

"So, you are here to help?"

"Yes. I will do anything you want." Why is he smirking?

"You can help in arranging those cups." I pointed at those cups which I had already failed to arrange. He scowled at those cups. Probably sharing my view of how hard they are to arrange.

"By the way, are you okay?" He asked, looking at my forehead.

"Yeah you don't need to worry, my skull is pretty thick."

"I never knew your thick skull would ever be useful." Geena piped out of nowhere.

Adam and Geena both started laughing while I was turning redder by the second. Why was I embarrassing myself so much today? Something is definitely wrong with me today. Then, I joined in on their laughter too. Geena's phone started ringing out of nowhere. Sobering up from her laughter and rubbing the corner of her eyes, she took out her phone from her pocket.

"I am glad you both find me amusing." I said looking over at Adam and Geena.

Geena's face immediately turned pale after picking up the phone.

"Pax will be here any minute." She was in panic mode now.

"What? But he will see us arranging for the party, it was supposed to be a surprise."

"I know! You should stop him from coming to Rora."

"What? But why me?" Is she trying to dump the dirty work on me?

"Because he listens to you..." Geena trailed off.

" Are you crazy? Paxton never listens to anyone."

"Then.....maybe Adam should go." Geena says looking over at him.

"Um..." Adam trailed off looking over at me. Why are we looking over at each other?

"I know it's probably your first time talking with me and I should not ask you a favour, but you were close with Pax right? Just think that you are helping Pax. Please?" Geena tried her best to do the puppy dog eyes.

"Second time"

"Huh?"

"This is our second time talking." Adam said, making us more confused.

Just then, the door opened with a loud bang. We all looked over to find Paxton looking over at us and the whole house curiously.

We're screwed.

Sorry for the late update I was really busy with my exams. Fortunately they went well. Thanks for all the comments wishing me to do well on my exams.

Breathe just hit 300 reads and I am so grateful. Since I did not update last week and I just hit a 300 reads, I have prepared a little gift for you guys *wink wink*

I will be updating another chapter in just a few hours. Yay!
