School had long since finished. Baekhyun sat on the swings in the park near his house. He dreaded going home, despite knowing his parents aren't there. The memories always came back to him when he was inside the house.
The most haunting memories happened when it turned dark.
When a memory came back, Baekhyun would shrink down and crawl into a ball, no matter where in the house he was. He'd shake for hours, even after the memory was over.
During these memories would be one of the the times in which the voices would come back and tell him to do stuff, harsh, pain inflicting stuff, and he'd comply, only hurting himself enough for the pain to linger, never enough to kill him.
He sighed and got up from the swing, making his way back home, not caring about the memories anymore, if his parents weren't home then it would be the best time to get some homework or chores done.
His feet dragged along the pavement as he prolonged his journey by making sure to stop and read every sign, making sure he takes his time looking at every line.
The air grew colder as the time flew by, indicating to Baekhyun that he really should be getting home.
As he walked up the stairs to his front door, he froze, noticing the door was left ajar. He knew it wasnt his parents, they always shut and locked the door, whether they were in or out.
Timidly, he stepped inside the house, calling a quiet "hello?" into the darkness.
Footsteps.
Someone was running down the stairs.
Out from the darkness jumped a figure. They enveloped Baekhyun into a bear hug, reassuring the small boy that they're not a threat.
"Who are you?" Baekhyun whispered, his arms staying glued to his sides.
"Oh come on, is this any way to treat your cousin?"
