"We had to cancel," I tell him.

"Why the fuck would you cancel?" He says, basically screaming from the other end.

"We were supposed to be there at the opening show, you decided to not show, what were we supposed to do?" I mutter as I pull into the driveway of the Garcias' house.

"This was supposed to be the one way to get our band out there, how do you fuck that up?" He questions and I groan as I get out of the car.

"Chase you're the one who flaked so don't start with that bullshit," I mutter.

"Language," Mr Garcia says as he lifts the lid off to place the garbage in the can.

"Sorry sir," I say and he chuckles lightly before nodding.

"Where are you right now?" Chase questions, anger lacing in his voice.

"I have to go right now, I'll talk to you later," I mutter, completely ignoring his question before pushing the red button.

I slip my phone into my pocket before walking into the house after Mr Garcia.

"She's in her room," he says and I nod before slightly hesitating.

"Yes, he's telling you to go up there," her mom says causing him to chuckle.

"It's the room to the left, can't miss it," he says and I nod.

"Thanks," I mutter before walking up the big staircase. It was the first time I was probably going into her room, so the instructions were necessary. I turn left at the top before knocking on the door.

I wait patiently for the door to open but it doesn't so I just welcome myself inside. I turn the handle and open the door. It reveals her empty bedroom.

I walk inside the room before closing the door behind me.

Her room always smells nice, it's hard to describe but it smells just like her.

I take a seat on her bed and lay back patiently waiting. I'm assuming she's in the bathroom.

Her room is definitely too big, it looks like a living room connected to a bedroom, if this was my room, I definitely wouldn't be leaving.

"Do you ever just knock and wait?" She questions and I chuckle before looking up at her.

"I did knock," I say before I swallow the lump in my throat as I look at her, from her face straight down to her feet she's dripping in water. I notice she's gripping onto her towel tightly which causes me to close my eyes.

"I should probably wait outside for like five minutes," I mutter as I stand on my feet.

"Mhm," she murmurs as I walk out of the room, I close the door behind me and let out a deep breath.

"You cancelled and he blamed you when he didn't show up?" She questions.

"Yep," I respond.

"What a dickhead," she mumbles under her breath and I chuckle.

"You dated that dickhead,"

"And you're bestfriends with him, I think yours is worse,"

I smile for some odd reason, "You still dated him," I tease and she rolls her eyes.

"Where are you even taking me?" She questions.

"Don't worry, we're almost there," I mutter before taking a slight left.

All around us was forest and only that, but we were going in the direction of the city so we'd soon be blinded by lights.

After a while of trees, I take a right which leads me up a dirt road. Thank god I didn't drive the other car because this dirt is killing my Jeep's tires.

I finally stop the car at the top of a mountain where it overviews the city. I get out of the car before hearing another door close.

"Woah this is what it's like in the night?" She questions and I nod.

"It looks peaceful right?"

"In the day it's a whole shit show," she jokes.

"I used to live in the city when I was younger, my brother and I actually liked the city," I say, leaning against the car.

"You have a brother?" She asks and I nod.

"He's four years older than me and I'm not too sure how he is right now," I mutter.

"He's the reason I met Chase, we were both eight at the time and he was being bullied by a couple of boys next to a trash can, and my brother always told me to help everyone,"

She looks at me with a raised brow, "I stepped in to help him and we both ended up with our asses beaten," I say before hearing a small chuckle.

"That's not funny," I say with a small smile.

"You're right, you're right, I'm sorry," she jokes and I roll my eyes playfully.

"Since then we were inseparable, but now I feel like I don't know who he is sometimes,"

"Why not?" She questions, crossing her arms across her chest.

"He became an asshole after Kate, it's like she broke him," I say.

"You've never got your heart broken?" She question, I swallow the lump that formed in my throat before speaking.

"Well, yes, but not in the way most people get heartbroken," I mutter.

"What do you mean by that?" She asks.

"We fought, I told her I was done and that she should get out of my life, and be someone else's problem," I sigh.

"The next day, there was an accident, two kids and their mom had died. Some psycho had rammed into their car, killing themself in the process, " I pause.

"That psycho happened to be my ex, I blamed myself for the whole thing, sometimes I still do," I explain.

"For the most part that's why we moved away from the city," I say, glancing at her to read her facial expression but it's undetectable.

"It wasn't your fault," she mutters knitting her brows together.

"I'm not sure about that," I express.

She steps in front of me, before placing her cold finger onto my cheeks. "It wasn't your fault," she mutters.

My eyes slowly drift from her eyes to her lips before staring at her brown eyes. Her dark pupils dilate slightly before we both lean in slowly.

My forehead touches hers and our lips connect softly. Everything around us is quiet as the wind blows softly against our skin.

My lips melt into hers and I slide my hand across her waist to pull her closer. My chest presses against hers and my heart suddenly skips a beat.

Her arms slowly find themselves around my neck and she stands on her tiptoes to gain more access.

The kiss was identical to the first, it still made my heart beat the same, and the adrenaline rushed through my veins the exact same way.

We both pull away steadily, almost hesitantly as if neither of us wants the moment to fade away.

"I'm sorry for doing that," she mutters, before carefully placing a strand of hair behind her ear.

"It's . . . fine," I mutter slightly stumbling on my words.

"I feel like I'm making you guilty every time I kiss you,"

"I'm the one who kissed you first," I say, causing her to smile a little.

She takes a deep breath before looking back at the city. "I have a messed up story myself," she mutters causing me to look at her with a raised brow.

"When I was ten my mom took me to the city it was for work, bring your kid to work day, I was so excited to spend the day with her," she pauses.

"But all she did was worked, and I got bullied by some kids while I was in the lunchroom eating cupcakes and doughnuts," she says, shrugging her shoulders before letting out a small sigh.

"That's when I got tired of being bullied, I just didn't get it, my parents were the CEOs of the biggest company in Greendale and their ten-year-old daughter was being bullied for being chubby,"

"There was this one boy I liked in the group, it was like a stupid first-glance airport crush because I only ever saw him that day," she mutters.

"But he gave me a purple crayon that I kept for a while, maybe until I was thirteen," she says, followed by a small chuckle.

"I kept it although he had called me disgusting, and made me cry for almost a week,"

"That's how your eating disorder started?" I question and she nods before leaning against the car.

"At first, I ate and forced myself to throw up, it worked for almost a year until I became sickly, I got so skinny that I couldn't even take a shower without being tired," she explains.

"You'd think after all of that, the bullying would stop but it didn't, so I did the thing everybody does, I faked everything, I faked having my shit together, I faked being a bitch and I became the one thing I hated. A bully, also dated one,"

I give her a questionable glance.

"You were a bully?" I question.

"You think Chase liked me because I was the girl who kept getting bullied, I was thee bitch of high school," she says.

I really never paid you any attention.

"When I got into Greendale University, I just wanted to start over,"

"But you still had Chase who is thee asshole of all assholes," I joke and she rolls her eyes playfully.

"I thought you were the asshole of all assholes, so you hid him pretty well,"

"Ouch Ollie," I say, slightly knitting my brows together and she pushes my shoulder slightly.

I chuckle a bit and pull my lower lip between my teeth before looking back at her, "I'm glad you're getting a fresh start,"

Her eyes meet mine and her lips form a small smile. "Me too,"
