Pilot V
"So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye!!" What? Shut up. You know I'm a nerd. "So you think you can love me and leave me to die? Oh, baby! can't do this to me, baby! Just gotta get out, just gotta get right outta here!"
"Cassie!" Barbara yells over my music. "Can you come here for a second?" I pause the CD and jump down the stairs. "In the living room." I skip into the room, and Barbara smiles at me. "What're you so happy about?" I shrug.
"What's there to not be happy about?" I ask. She laughs.
"You got me there." I plop down on the couch across from her, still smiling. "So, Jim said he'll be back late tonight, so I was wondering if you'd like to do something today. Just the two of us." I shrug.
"Like what?" She smiles. "Oh no. I'm gonna regret asking that, aren't I?" She laughs.
"I don't know about that," she says. "I was thinking we could maybe rent a movie, something you'd like. We can...paint each other's nails, go crazy without Jim here to ruin the run." I chuckle.
"Paint each other's nails?" She nods, and I think about it before shrugging. She smiles.
^^Cassie's hair^^
"As far as I can remember, I have never had a hair cut," I say. "Just the occasional trim." She smiles.
"Would you wanna get it cut?" I shrug.
"I mean, probably. It's kind of a pain." She laughs.
"Maybe we can get it cut today," she says. "Then we can go rent the movie, and come back here, order takeout...chill for the rest of the day." I smile and nod. "Unfortunately, I have to go to the gallery now. Just for, like, an hour." She stands up. "But, so you don't have to keep going to the station after school, I got this made." She hands me a gold key and kisses the top of my head. "I'll be back around two." I smile at her as she walks to the door. "See you." I wave as she closes the door. As soon as she does, I take off running.
Jim's P.O.V.
"Tell Mooney I'm here," I say when I walk in.
"Regarding what, shall I say?" the man asks.
"Mario Pepper." He nods.
"Mario. May I ask why?" I shake my head.
"No."
"No?" He chuckles. "Yes. None of my business." He walks away, and Fish walks in, followed by a girl with blonde hair and blue eyes, wearing a black mask.
"James Gordon," Fish says. "How nice."
"Who're you?" I ask the girl. Fish looks at her. She says nothing. Instead she says something in sign language.
"She says that doesn't matter to you," Fish tells me.
"What?" I ask. "Can't she speak?" Fish shakes her head.
"No," she says coldly. "She can't." I nod.
"I'm sorry." Fish sighs.
"I assume you want something, or else you wouldn't be here," Fish says. I nod.
"The day I met you, when I was out back there with your boys," I say, "what did you and Harvey talk about?"
"Shouldn't you ask Harvey?" Fish asks. "He's your partner."
"I'm afraid he might lie." She hums in response.
"He might." She tilts her head. "And you think I'll tell you the truth?" I sigh. "You just did." I turn to walk out.
"James, wait." I turn back round and see the girl stepping back from Fish.
"You have a little danger in your eye," Fish says. "I wonder what you plan to do with that." I frown.
"You'll have to wait and see." I turn, walking away from the two.
Cassie's P.O.V.
I run down the alley by my apartment building and grab the pipe leading up to my room. I pull myself up and fall in the window. I sprint to my closet, pulling my vest and shoes off as I go, and grab my outfit from earlier. I throw it on quickly as I hear the front door open. I fling myself across my bed, grabbing my book off the side table and straightening myself out as Barbara opens my door.
"Hey," she says. "You ready to go have fun?" I smile and nod. "Grab your jacket, throw some shoes on, and let's go!" I jump off the bed and run to the closet and grab my boots. I pull them on, tightening the laces, and grab my denim jacket as I walk out the door.
"Wait," I say as I walk into the kitchen, where Barbara is sitting at the counter. "Where are we going first?" She looks at me, thinking.
"Wanna get your hair cut?" I smile and nod. "Then we'll go there first." On the way there, we're talking about how to get my hair cut, and now I have a pretty good idea of what I want. We pull up and walk into the salon. The smell of chemicals immediately hits my nose.
"Hello, Miss Kean," some woman with light brown skin and dark brown hair says, walking up to us. "Do you want your usual spot?" Barbara nods, and the woman leads us to a room in the back of the salon. Barbara motions for me to sit down. My god, these chairs are comfy!! "What can I do for you two today?" Barbara smiles.
"I don't need anything," she says. "She wants a new hairstyle." The woman nods and looks at me.
"Do you know how you want it?" I nod.
"Shoulder length and layered." She nods and walks out of the room. I look at Barbara. "Be honest. How mad is Jim gonna be when he sees?" She shrugs.
"It's hard to know with Jim." We laugh.
~~~
I will just say my head feels so much lighter now. I mean, it's still decently long. I don't think I'll ever get my hair cut any shorter than this, but this is a lot shorter than it was.
"So?" Barbara asks as we sit down on the couches back at home. "Do you like it?" I smile and nod.
"Definitely," I tell her. "Long hair is a pain in the ass." She looks at me with wide eyes.
"Woah, woah, woah!!" she exclaims. "Jim hears you talking like that, he will...not like it. I don't actually know what he'll do." I laugh. "Stop laughing," she says, trying not to laugh with me.
"I'm sorry," I say through my laughter. "Just the way you worded that whole sentence was hilarious." She smiles.
"Yeah, whatever. Don't blame me when Jim goes off on you for cursing." That just makes me laugh more.
I do not own Gotham or its characters. I do however own Cassidy Alexandra, Ice, Gracelyn Ventura, and their plot, so don't steal. It's not nice.
