Selina Kyle V

Jim Gordon's P.O.V.

"You didn't call the Gazette," Harvey says as we head to the shop, "but did your girl call? Or Cassie?" I sigh.

"Yeah," I say. "Barbara."

"I knew it."

"I didn't know she was gonna call them," I say. I sigh. "I'm kind of glad she did though."

"Why?" I look over at him.

"They took Cassie." His eyes are wide.

"You kidding?" I shake my head. "Cassidy Alexandra Gordon, the cocky, underage street fighter, let herself get kidnapped by a woman with a pen?" I nod. "She really has changed." I nod again. "Seriously, though, you gotta control your girls."

"I kind of like 'em the way they are. Barbara at least. I'm still trying to get Cassie to listen to me."

"These high-class temperamental broads need firm handling, trust me." I look over at him.

"Trust you? On women?" He nods.

"Damn right. All varieties. From house fraus to movie stars. I love them all. Now, you, let me guess, high school sweetheart then a bunch of hos overseas only made you sad. And then there's Barbara." I nod.

"Pretty much." he shakes his head.

"You, my friend, are a monkey riding a racehorse."

Cassie Gordon's P.O.V.

I wake up leaning against something hard. I manage to pry my eyes open and see Selina sitting next to me.

"Welcome back to the Land of the Living," she says. "Wasn't sure you were gonna wake up." I groan and close my eyes, leaning back on the window.

"Ah, hell," I say.

"Remember what happened?" I nod.

"Creepy lady, poisoned pen?" She shrugs.

"Something like that." She looks up toward the front of the bus, then back at me. "Okay, I have a plan." I sit up, listening closely. "Whenever we get . . . wherever we're going, we're gonna hide under the seats. Hopefully, she'll be dumb enough to miss us, and then we can sneak off the bus and figure it out from there." I scoff.

"That's your plan?" I ask. "Figure it out when we get there?" She glares at me.

"Do you have a better idea?" I think about it and shake my head. "Well okay then." The bus lurches to a stop soon after we stop talking, and in the crowd of people getting off the bus, Selina nods at me, and we each get under a separate bench toward the front of the bus. I can hear the woman talking outside the bus.

"Funny thing," she says. "By my count, according to the sheet they gave us, we're two short."

"Me too," some guy says. "Maybe there's one on the bus." We hear someone come up the stairs, and I look over at Selina.

"Shh," I whisper. The woman walks down the aisle, and I roll out from under the bench. We quietly stand up and tiptoe down the stairs. We look around and roll under the bus. Soon enough, the woman walks out and heads towards a man.

"Nope," she tells him. "Weird. Must be a miscount someplace." Me and Selina crawl out from under the bus and run behind a giant crate that fortunately hides us until we reach the door on the other side of the room. Beyond the doorway is a large room full of crates, and there's one worker who doesn't see us at first. I reach into my pocket, hoping they didn't take it. I smirk when I feel the cool metal and pull out my pocket knife. It's not much, but it's something. I walk forward, and he turns around. He goes to say something, but I rush forward. He dodges my knife and pulls out his own, swinging it at me. I back up enough to minimize the damage, but not enough to keep the blade from cutting my stomach. Selina reaches around him and scratches him, and he screams. He runs out of the room, and we quickly hide behind one of the crates before the lady comes in, Selina helping me run. I peer around the corner of the crate, but jerk back in place when I see the gun in her hand. We hear the woman's heels getting closer and climb up onto the crate. The woman walks beneath us, and I hear a small Clink. Selina had dropped her locket. I look over at her with a blank expression on my face. At least I didn't drop mine, I think. The woman looks up at us.

"Well," she says. "You have been two very naughty girls." Long story short 'cause it's kind of a blur, the cops find us and arrest them. They take us back to the GCPD, and that's where me and Selina are separated. When Jim sees me, he wraps me in a suffocating hug that, strangely, makes me smile. Needless to say, he takes me straight home after they ask me what happened and patch up my stomach.

"Cassie!!" Barbara yells as we walk in the door of the apartment. She runs over and attacks me in another suffocating hug. When I wince, she pulls away and notices the tear in my shirt."Oh my god! Are you alright?" I nod.

"A little scratch," Jim says. "She'll be fine." I smile at him, and he nods. Neither of us want to make Barbara worry any more than she already is. Eventually, Barbara lets me head up to my room, and I change, very carefully, into my clean and not-torn pajamas, when there's a knock on the door. It opens a bit, and Jim sticks his head in.

"You good, kid?" he asks. I nod, and he walks in. He holds something out. "Found this outside when you went missing." I look down at his hand. It's my phone I take it and smile. "You got a few calls from someone named 'J'. Might wanna call 'em and let 'em know you're okay." I nod, and he turns to leave but pauses at the door. "Cassie?" I look up from the phone. "I'm glad you're okay." I smile.

"I'm starting to grow on you, huh?" I ask. He shakes his head, smirking.

"Course not," he replies. "It's kinda quiet around here without you blasting your music all the time." I laugh as he walks out, closing the door behind him.

I walk up the stairs and into the GCPD and look around. Harvey almost immediately rushes over to me.

"Cassie," he sys, "what are you doing here?" I sigh.

"Despite what you may or may not think," I say. "I actually do have friends, and one of them's stuck here, and I wanna make sure she's okay." He looks around, wraps an arm around my shoulder, and leads me away from the crowd of people.

"Look, C."

"Don't call me that." He ignores me.

"I know you love Fish, and I know Fish loves you, but are you sure you need to be dealing with that kind of lifestyle?" he asks. "You know, with your dad being a cop and all. I mean, when you were living on the streets, yeah. I can see that. But you have someone to take care of you now. You don't have to go to Fish for stuff anymore." I frown.

"I know I don't," I tell him. "I go to Fish because she chose to be there for me when everyone else was trying to kill or arrest me. If nothing else, I owe it to her to be there for her, just like she was there for me." He sighs.

"You at least need to tell Jim," he says. "He's gonna find out sooner or later. It'd be better for him to find out from you than from someone else later." I nod.

"I know, I know. I'll tell him." He looks at me with a disbelieving look on his face, and I smile. "I will!" I walk away and see Selina talking to a uni, and I walk over.

"We're not allowed to put you back on the streets," the uni says. "It's for your own well-being." She scoffs.

"Have you been there?" she asks. "Upstate?" He nods.

'Yes." I step forward.

"Then you know," I say. Selina looks over at me, smiles, and looks back at the uni.

"You know," she tells him. "Go get Detective James Gordon. He works here." The uni sighs, and I sit down next to Selina.

"Cat," he says, "police are very busy people." I sigh.

"Go get him," I say. "Or I'll say you touched me." He looks at me with wide eyes.

"Excuse me?" I smirk.

"James Gordon," Selina says. "He's her dad." I nod.

"I'm gonna scream in about three seconds," I tell the uni. "I bet that'll get him over here." He sighs and walks away. I hold up my hand and high five Selina. After a few minutes I hear Jim's voice.

"I got it," he says, I'm guessing to a particular uni we threatened. "Hello again, young lady. I see you've met Cassie." I look up at him.

"We've known each other longer than I've known you," I tell him. He nods.

"How can I help you?" he asks Selina.

"We need to talk," she tells him. He frowns.

"So now you wanna talk, huh?" She nods. "Okay." He looks back at the uni. "It's all right." He looks back at Selina. "Selina, is it?" She nods.

"Cat," she corrects.

"Cat. You're Macky's friend?"

"Yeah, I know Macky."

"Those bastards nearly got you twice, huh? You're quite a survivor." He sits down and wraps an arm around my shoulders, and she nods.

"You have no idea," she says.

"Thank you," he told her. "For helping Cassie out." She shakes her head.

"She helped me out first." He shrugs. "But suppose I had something you really, really wanted. If I gave it to you, could you get me out of here?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"What do you got?" I ask.

"I've been watching you two," she says. "You're friends of the boy. You're not like the rest of these crooks.

"The boy?" I ask her. "Bruce?"

"What do you mean you've been watching us?" Jim asks.

"The Mario Pepper guy was a patsy, huh?" Selina asks, ignoring both of our questions.

"What makes you say that?" Jim asks.

"Could you? Could you get me out?" He shrugs.

"It's possible." She leans towards us.

"I saw who really killed the Waynes," she says. "Saw him clear as day."

I do not own Gotham or its characters. I do however own Cassidy Alexandra, Ice, Gracelyn Ventura, and their plot, so don't steal. It's not nice.
