Chapter 5: Lies

"Now that I know you exist, how do I not love you"

Jungkook was thrown inside the dungeon with a loud thud, his back harshly landed on the ground.

"You'll stay here until the sun rose, the King will confront you." The guard affirmed removing the rope from Jungkook's hands.

"Nuh-no! L-listen to me!" Jungkook panted but he received a punch on his jaw.

"Close your mouth, don't do anything." The guard asserted locking the cell.

Jungkook groans in pain, he pressed his back on the dirty border. He looked at the dungeon with blurry eyes. Now, he was confused about how did he get back in that place.

Taehyung mumbles when he slightly opens his eyes. He saw something unfamiliar in front of him, he blink his eyes a few times and rubbed them to clearly see what's the 'thing' in front of him.

He looked up and saw the prince's sleeping face. His eyes widened remembering what happened yesterday night. He immediately looked inside the blanket and saw both of them are naked. He jolted up and grabbed his white underdress without noticing it was the prince's clothes and his magoja. He stood up while hissing in pain in his lower part.

He wore his clothes and carefully leave the prince's place.

"Taehyung, where did you sleep? I didn't see you here last night." Miao asked carrying a basin when she saw Taehyung coming.

"A-ah, I fell asleep in the kitchen in the palace. I-I'm so tired that's why I'm too lazy to go here." Taehyung lied not even looking at her eyes while rubbing his neck.

"What's with your neck? There's a lot of red, did the mosquito bit you?" Miao asked.

"Y-yeah haha." Taehyung replied nervously.

"I see, what are you waiting for? Go inside and change your clothes, you wore them yesterday. Just put them here in the basin, I'll wash them." Miao said while getting those dry clothes and blanket hanging on.

"O-okay." Taehyung replied.

He got inside their wooden house and change his clothes. He put them in the basin and sighed. He was thinking about how he will face the prince after what happened.

"Prince, Princess Halyeon is here to visit you." Eunuch Oh announced from the outside.

Jeongguk wore his mask before letting her get inside. The wooden door opened and Princess Halyeon get inside.

"Our beloved prince." Princess Halyeon greeted, bowing her head.

Jeongguk looked at her, she's beautiful but he's not interested.

"What are you doing here?" Jeongguk asked sighing.

"Queen Hailey sent me here to communicate with you." Halyeon replied smiling.

"I don't need to talk with you, I'm fine." Jeongguk replied.

"But the Queen told me that she will be glad if she knew that I'm with you." Halyeon insisted.

"Then just sit down there and do nothing, I don't want to talk with you and I don't like noisy people here just to disturb me." Jeongguk simply replied with a hint of annoyance.

Princess Halyeon closed her mouth due to embarrassment. Jeongguk continued to read the novels on the desk.

"Eunuch Oh, go and find servant Taehyung." Jeongguk ordered.

Eunuch Oh leave them and find Taehyung.

"Taehyung, is this yours?" Miao asked when she hung wet clothes.

"What is it, noona?" Taehyung asked going out of the house.

"This." Miao said showing the white underdress.

"Yeah, why?" Taehyung asked confused.

"Are you sure? Why it has the mark of a prince?" Miao asked.

Taehyung widened his eyes and looked at the white underdress.  He muttered under his breath.

"Ah, this? It's a fake mark noona. I bought it in the market." Taehyung lied hoping she will believe in his lies.

"Are you sure? But you barely go to the market even the prince wasn't allowing you." Miao stated.

"Aish, noona, don't mind this. Just forget it, I'll go inside and finish the chores." Taehyung replied smiling fakely.

"Okay fine." Miao sighed and continued her work.

Taehyung went inside, slapping his forehead for being stupid. He almost got caught.

"What should I do now? Why I'm stupid?!" Taehyung muttered frustratedly.

"Miao, do you know where's servant Taehyung?" Enuch Oh asked when he arrived in front of Taehyung's house.

"Yes, Eunuch Oh, but what are you doing here?" Miao asked curiously.

"The prince was looking for him, the prince ordered me." Eunuch Oh replied.

"But Eunuch Oh, today is Taehyung's free day." Miao replied.

"Can you just call him? I don't want the prince to get mad if he sees I'm not with the servant." Eunuch Oh uttered.

"Fine." Miao sighed.

"Prince, may I ask you something?" Princess Halyeon started.

Jeongguk sighed, rolling his eyes in annoyance but nodded his head.

"Why are you wearing a mask?" Halyeon asked.

Jeongguk stopped flipping the page of the book after hearing her question.

"You don't have to know." Jeongguk simply said.

"But prince, everyone was curious about your face and even know your name. You can't hide your identity for so long." Halyeon uttered.

"Didn't I tell you to close your mouth and stay quiet? You are disturbing me." Jeongguk sternly retorted, glaring at her.

"Prince, servant Taehyung is here." Eunuch Oh suddenly announced.

"You can leave now." Jeongguk said.

Princess Halyeon swallowed down and stood up. The wooden door opened, she saw Taehyung who's bowing his head. She left and Taehyung went inside.

"Why did you call me, prince?" Taehyung asked looking down to avoid his eyes.

"Where did you go? Why you're not with me when I woke up?" Jeongguk asked looking at him.

"I-I'm sorry my prince, I-I woke up early and leave because I don't want my friend to get worried about me." Taehyung stated.

"How are you? Do you feel pain somewhere?" Jeongguk asked.

A blush crept on Taehyung's cheeks, biting his lips while fidgeting his fingers and clearing his throat.

"I-I'm fine." Taehyung retorted.

"That's good to hear, I was worried you might feel pain since I didn't go easy on you." Jeongguk said casually.

"Ahm, prince, may I ask you something?" Taehyung changed the topic, sitting in front of Jeongguk.

"Yes, what is it?" Jeongguk retorted.

"Why are you wearing a mask? Why are you hiding your handsome face?" Taehyung asked curiously.

Jeongguk looked at him and he can't help but smile a little when Taehyung called him handsome.
