Yoongi absolutely hated sitting around, waiting for something— anything.
He wasn't sure if he should text Jimin like he wanted, or if he should just keep cleaning his stupid house even if it's already clean and act like Jimin or mates didn't even exist.
Yoongi's house was paid off a long time ago by his parents. His dad works as a CEO, and Yoongi used to actually work for him. Now? He quit that job —and his dad didn't care, only cared that his son was happy— and now he just writes poems and songs to himself, sometimes trying to sell them if it's worth it.
An easy life.
He doesn't like to think that he doesn't work for it— because trust him, he's a hard worker. Even if he gets ripped off all the time and lives off of ramen noodles in his fancy home.
Hey, don't judge him.
Just because his dad was nice enough to offer him a home doesn't mean he lives the rich and fancy life you'd expect. He's only human.
Well he's sort of human. Whatever.
Anyways, he hadn't ate breakfast yet because he was too worried on thinking. Would Jimin wake up and forget everything from last night? Does he even remember their date?
Friend date.
His worrying came to a halt when his phone buzzed on the table. He was currently eating an orange, trying to calm himself. But when he looked at his phone, he just about choked.
It's Jimin- calling him.
Yoongi threw the orange on the table and wiped his hands on his pajamas before answering the phone before it stopped ringing and he'd lose his chance to answer.
"Hello?" He answered through his stuffed mouth, realizing how rude that sounded.
He heard a cute chuckle on the other end. "Sounds like you're eating something delicious." Jimin said teasingly.
Yoongi finally swallowed his orange.
"No, no, no." He answered.
"So," Jimin dragged out. Yoongi wasn't sure what to say, so he just repeated him. Jimin giggled. "Are we going for lunch?"
Yoongi blinked, confused and a little excited as he sat down at his dinner table. "I thought you were drunk and wouldn't remember.."
"I drink enough to be used to a few glasses of wine, hyung." Jimin chuckled. "And of course I remember our little friendship date."
Yoongi cringed at that. "If you weren't drunk then why did you let that guy touch you?" He suddenly asked, but regretted it.
Did he seriously just ask that?
"I felt bad for knocking his drink over." Yoongi could basically hear Jimin pouting through the phone. "He was just telling me that it was no big deal." He told Yoongi.
Yoongi sighed.
"I shouldn't have asked that, anyways." He rested his head against the table and hit it lightly. "I'm sorry. It's not my business."
"No, it's okay." Jimin's voice sounded small. "Are we doing this or what?" He chuckled.
Yoongi raised back up and realized that he was barely even close to ready to be seen out in public. "Yeah," He blinked. "Yeah." He stood up and ran up the stairs to his room.
"Yeah?" Jimin repeated.
"Yes, Yes I will pick you up at ten and we will go get lunch." Yoongi finally said.
Jimin giggled as he heard the other end of the phone start making harsh noises. "Okay, I'll see you at ten, then." He smiled. "Bye bye."
"Bye." Yoongi pressed end and laid his phone on his bed. He was trying to get dressed since it was already nine and it was hard to do while on the phone, so he didn't complain when Jimin had told him "bye bye" in such a cute way.
He got dressed in a white shirt that was slightly too big on him and put on a bucket hat because why not. When he left his house, it was already almost ten and he hadn't drank coffee or anything before he left.
Yoongi sighed as he got closer to Jimin's house. The fact that he even remembered where he lived creeped himself out. He stepped up to the door and knocked on it.
He was never one to be shy— but then again he's learning a lot here lately, so..
Jimin walked out of his house with a soft smile planted on his face. He was wearing all black with a black coat and black hat..
"I swear you're always bundled up like it's winter or something." Yoongi chuckled.
Jimin just blinked at him. "It's September. I'm cold." He pouted as he closed his door.
Yoongi watched him with that stupid smile that never failed to be there whenever Jimin was near him. He was excited that he was going to get to hang out with the other considering he barely knows a single thing about him.
They walked for a while before Yoongi led Jimin to a coffee shop all of a sudden.
"Ooh!" Jimin smiled. "Can I have vanilla milk?" He asked Yoongi like a kid in a... candy store. Yoongi smiled back at him.
"Sure." He said.
He ordered himself a coffee after Jimin ordered and he paid for both of them, which earned a small thank you from Jimin.
"So," Jimin smiled as they took a seat at a booth in the coffee shop. "Maybe we should start with the basics." He tilted his head.
"Okay." Yoongi smiled nervously.
"I'll start." Jimin said as he set his drink down on the table. "My name is Park Jimin. I'm twenty-four, and I absolutely love vanilla milk." He giggled as he sipped his drink.
Yoongi smiled at how cute he was. "You're very young to own a shop on your own."
"It was my grandmother's." Jimin stated. "My real grandmother's. I'm actually,"
He looked up at Yoongi with a slightly different expression on his face that Yoongi didn't quite understand.
"I'm adopted, and my grandma was the only person in my real family that I knew. And so, I took over the candy store." Jimin said.
Yoongi didn't need to question any further to know what he meant by that.
"That's nice of you to be committed to."
Jimin nodded. "So what about you?"
Yoongi blinked at the table. "Uh- I'm Min Yoongi. I'm twenty six and I don't really have or need a job, really. I write a lot, but that's about it." He shrugged to himself, feeling slightly embarrassed that he had no job.
Jimin made an ooh noise. "You should show me what you write." He smiled.
"Maybe.." Yoongi slightly turned red as Jimin placed his hand on his arm softly.
And the whole 'date' pretty much just went on like that. Jimin would ask random questions like what's your favorite color, what's your favorite food, and Yoongi's personal favorite— what color is your toothbrush?
It was such random questions that made Yoongi laugh, but still answer anyways.
"Thank you for the food." Jimin said once they reached his door. "We should hang out again. Maybe this time, you wont trip the waitress on accident." He finger quoted when he said the specific word 'accident'.
"You heard her curse me under her breath, did you not?" Yoongi pouted. "She deserved to be tripped. It's not my fault that she cursed me because she forgot your spoon, okay?"
Jimin giggled as he opened his door.
"It was pretty funny." He admitted.
Yoongi smiled at Jimin. "Well, maybe next time we can just hang out at my place. I swear I won't trip anyone there." He chuckled.
"That sounds nice." Jimin smiled as he patted Yoongi's little bucket hat, making it lower into his eyes. "See you next time, hyung."
"Have a great evening." Yoongi said as Jimin waved and shut his door. Yoongi sighed to himself as he walked away from the door.
'Have a great evening?' What am I? A fast food worker, or something?
But he still smiled as he thought about how the day went with Jimin. He's such a softie and he's so cute when he eats. He even started feeding Yoongi some of his own food at one point, saying how he needed to taste it.
He barely even knows Jimin but he can already feel himself falling like an idiot.
Yoongi's never liked anyone before.
That was his first date, but.. It felt normal. It felt like they already knew each other.
It felt amazing.
It was amazing.
