Thunderstrike 09: Salvation of a Son

Raijin stared out of the window of the classroom used as the school's Vanguard club's meeting room. The place was clean and everything was in it's place, meaning that the rest of the club still hadn't arrived. He reached out for the phone on the table behind him and clicked a button on the right side, making the screen activate and reveal that it was the day of the week was monday, the time was 10.32 AM and the day of the month was the seventh of May. He took a deep breath and turned away from the window, grabbing his school bag from a table and walking to the slide door. As he approached it, it started to slide open. "Huh?"
Once the door was fully opened, the other four members of the team were revealed. Ira, Chouji, Fubuki and Kira. All were present.
"Why?" Raijin asked.
"Fubuki told us." Ira replied with a smile.
"We'll stand besides you whenever you need, even if it is getting revenge against your old man." Chouji said with his confident smirk.
"I know I called you terrible names but I'll still stand by your side with that whole rebellion thingy!" Kira replied, closing her fists and smirking to Raijin.
"I shout, I'm annoying, I'm jackass and an idiot to everybody." Fubuki started to say with a serious face. "But I ain't leaving one of my friends behind in this time of need. We are a team but above that, we are friends! We are comrades! We share our victories and our losses! I may sound like Stalin when I say this, but there's no 'I' or 'me' in this team! There's only 'us' and 'we'! So we'll be there for you when you fight that wannabe Hyuuga jackass of a dad!"
Raijin stared at the group, surprise filling his eyes and soul. He turned his surprised expression into a confident one and nodded. "Yeah!"

(Opening)

5 days until the fight

"Y'know, you really have a butter heart on the inside, don't you?" Ira asked to Fubuki, who was sitted in front of him eating some rice out of a bowl.
"Shut up or I'll kill ya." Fubuki replied, taking a break some eating rice to drink some water.
"You could swear less." Kira said, using her chopsticks to guide a piece of meat to Chouji's mouth, who gladly ate it.
"Wait, since when are ya two a thing?" Ira asked.
Chouji looked at Ira and then at the chopsticks. "THIS DOESN'T MEANS ANYTHING!"
"Hai hai, boss." The purple haired said with a sweatdrop. "But where's-"
"Does your smartass mouth ever shut up?"
"Nope. But really, where's Raijin?"
"I haven't seen him since math class." Kira explained.
"Eh, math class. It was what started this all." Chouji said with a smal closed-eye smile.
"Yup." Ira laid on the grass and looked at the sky. "I remember it like if it was yesterday."
"Same here." Instead of using an angry face, Fubuki had a small smile.
"We tricked him good and in doing so, we got an unique friend. There's no one like Raijin, is it?"
"I don't know him as well as the three of you, but I agree with Chouji." The girl said. "Raijin is unique. There's no one like him in the world."

"In recent news, an abandoned hospital in Portugal was blown up for what it seemed to be an illegal operation of a company who was trying to get information on the Myoujin Foundation..." The blonde reporter said from a television screen placed on a wall of a McDonald's dinner place.
"I wasn't expecting this place to be honest." Akiko said as she sat down on the counter seat."
"Well, it's the best I could think on such short notice." Mamoru, already sitted at her left, explained.
Raijin was sitted at the girl's right. "The old man won't bother looking in such a 'crappy' place. So, what did you wanted to talk about?"
"Father is expecting your challenge on saturday. But that isn't a surprise. He may be against what you and mother say it's truth but he believes in your guts."
"Huh, that's actually ni-"
"He says that your guts are the dumber than a bag of Shikas."
"Of course he did..." Raijin sighed and ate a potato chip. "Wait, the hell's a Shika?"
"Father has a friend who teaches football, not the european one, and his team has a player that is good but is dumber than a bag of rocks. His name is Shika something."
Raijin blinked as he took a sip of his beverage. "Huh, ok. That's certainly new. But that's just it?"
"No. Ever since you and father talked to each other, I have been hearing him scream during the night. Usually it's around 2 AM. I think it's because he has nightmares caused by regret and guilt."
"This is why you're the best Philosophy student at our class, Akiko." Mamoru said with a smile but ignore by the two siblings.
"Pfff, yeah right. I don't think Madara can feel regret or guilt. He cares too much about his ideals to do so."
"Maybe. But if he really regrets everything and feels guilty about it, maybe he can be saved. Maybe that can show him that family is more important than ideals. But I don't really know." Akiko looked down at her burger.
"Hey, it will be fine. Even if he can't be saved, me and mom are still here." Raijin looked at the clock above the door and got up. "Gotta go, class starts in half a hour. Pay me stuff, blondy." Raijin ran out of the establishment.
"Hey no fair!!" Mamoru said, causing Akiko giggle.
"It has not been confirmed but sources say that they have seen the son of Ryuzu Myoujin jumping from the exploding building using a wheel chair and a parachute attached to it..."
Mamoru stared at the television screen. "Just what type of crappy news are these? Why would Ryuzaki Mikazuchi jump from an exploding abandoned portuguese hospital using a wheel chair and a parachute? He is too rich for that crap."

Raijin walked down a street during the sunset, the small wave of wind making his crimson hair shake.
"Raijin, I believe you can do it." A voice from from behind him.
"Hm? Who's there?" He turned to the vocie and saw it was his cousin, Raika, who he shared a strong hate with. "I don't give a damn if you believe or not."
"Look, I know we aren't the greatest of friends but I too know that uncle Madara was blinded by the ideals of the Akaze clan. And I also know that if there's someone that can save, it can only be you."
"From where's all the positive stuff coming from?"
"From my honesty. I also want to apologize for the shitty behaviours I had with you and your friends. You didn't deserved it. I was blinded by the power of becoming the next head of the Akaze clan. I am-"
"Don't sweat it. There are always moments in life where power controls someone. It's just the way the world works. I accept your apologies and hope you are there when I wreck the Akaze ideals."
"I will be. But until then, be prepared. Uncle Madara is not taking this lightly. He is training hard to beat you so I'd suggest you to do the same."
"I will. I got friends and family and they will help me be ready for the day."
Raika nodded and smirked. "It's all up to you now, Raijin."

3 days until the fight

The sky was orange as the sunset and a smal red haired boy stood behind an open gate. In front og him, on the other side of the gate, it stood a man that resembled Madara, as if it were a younger version of himself. The man looked at the boy with watery eyes,
"Dad, who created our clan?" The boy asked to the man.
"A brave warrior named Junos..." The man said.
The boy, now a teenager, got closer to the gate and reveal himself to be Raijin. "Dad, who destroyed our clan?"
The man, now in his real age and being Madara, took a few steps back. "I did..."
"And what did it cost you?"
"Everything..." Madara fell to his knees and the gate slow started closing. He reached out for Raijin, who started walking away as the gate finally fully closed.

In his bed, Madara got up in a flash. He was panting harder then a racer and had sweat rolling down from his forehead. He checked his phone in order to see what time it was. 2AM, just as Akiko had told Raijin. What he saw was the nightmare he was constantly having ever since the day he saw Raijin in his household.
"This nightmares need to stop..." The thighten his left fist. "This visions shall not be in the way of my ideals..."

1 day until the fight

Raijin opened the door of his house and entered it before closing the door behind him. "Mom, I'm home."
"Welcome back, Raijin! Any plans for the weekend?" The woman asked as she walked into the living room.
"Destroy a clan's ideals, talk bad about the man who is my 'father'. The usual."
"Not funny. Don't get into trouble, ok?"
"Don't worry, mom. I'll be fine. I got my friends there with me. Anyway, I'm going to my room. See ya." He walked towards the stairs before going to his room.
Sakura smiled before walking to a nearby window. 'Madara, I'm sorry but my love for the old you cannot stop our son. If this is our son's will, then he will do what he promised to do.'

The day of the fight

Raijin opened the door of his house and walked outside before closing it. "My keys..." He searched his pockets for his keys before turned around due to the vocies he heard.
In front of his house, there was a group of people. Chouji, Fubuki, Ira, Kira, Akiko, Mamoru and Raika.
"Just like the first time we talked." Chouji said before throwing Raijin his keys.
"I'm starting to think that one day you'll break into my hosue since you always have my keys." Raijin said as he caught the keys and clsoed the door before walking to the group. The two look at each before laughing.
"Don't lose, cheater!" Kira said in a joking tone.
"We believe in you, Raijin! Just don't fall asleep during the fight!" Ira replied.
"I don't really know you very well but I know you can do it." Mamoru said to the red haired.
"You're this clan's salvation, cousin."
"You're our father's salvation." Akiko said to her brother.
"You got this. I know you do. But the best speech goes for someone else." Chouji said as he walked to the left to reveal Fubuki behind him.
"RAIJIN LISTEN UP!" Fubuki shouted. "IF YOU DON'T WIN, I'LL KILL YOU! YOU GOTTA WIN AND THAT'S THAT! YOU LOSE AND BREAK ALL OF OUR HEARTS! SO LISTEN UP!!! YOU CAN FUCKING DO IT AND NO ONE CAN SAY OTHERWISE!" He took a deep breath. "Show him what the real Raijin is capable of doing."
"Thank you all. For not only being here but for also believing in me. It's good to have people like you in my life. Now let's go kick some ass!"
"YEAH!!!" The group shouted before starting to walk away.

The time had arrived. This was the awaited moment. The moment where Raijin would fight against his father, Madara.
The group stood in front of the gates of the Akaze household and in front of them, there was Madara.
"I see you have decided to join the side who bought dishonour to our clan, my daughter." Madara said.
"Spare me the crap, dad! You know who caused this so don't start acting like if the fault was mom's or Raijin's!" Akiko replied.
Madara's look upon his daughter changed into a serious one. "You have no such thing as a mother or a brother!"
"Yes I do and if you have something against it, ban me from the clan!" She smirked. "Afterall, that's what you do to all your children, isn't it?"
"Silence! I will discuss with you once this whole joke is over." The man changed the target of his to Raijin. "Your force of will to come and stand against me today is honourable, I will admit that. But it's the only honourable thing you'll ever do."
Raijin chuckled. "I don't know, old man. I'd say I've done other honourable things too. Look at all this people who have chosen to stand with me today. The most honourable thing I've done was to change the heary's of people. Of this people. Of my friends."
"I don't care about what you feel to be honourable or not. To me, I only see a bunch of kids who's minds were affected by you." Madara turned around as the gates started to open. "This is your last chance to step away from your so called truth and go away." He walked into the household.
"As if." Raijin and the group followed behind and were guided to a table on the house's gigantic garden.
Madara sat down on the left side of the table and in front of him, Raijin also sat down.
"So you've decided to fight."
"I'm not the type to give up easily, old man."
Inside his mind and heart, Madara felt a bit of joy at eharing those words but said joy was quickly torn appart by his will and ideals.

The two took out their respective decks and started setting everything up. In the meanwhile, the group had sat down in couches that were placed under a tree. They were on the perfect place to watch the match.
"Huh, wasn't expecting this from Mr. I'm Richy Boi." Fubuki said while examining the couch.
"My father likes to do things in an old fashioned way. That's why they are having a classic cardfight. Two fighters cardfighting in a table while being sitted." Akiko replied.
"Well, at least they aren't playing card games on motor-"
"Finish that sentence and I'll be the one killing you, Ira." Kira warned as her eyes formed a strong glare against the purpled haired boy.
"Yes, ma'am..."
"But hey, on the positive side, they aren't playing card games on a VR world in overbo-"
"Same applies to you, dearest Chouji."
"Yes, ma'ma..."
"Do these two do anything other than quoting dead memes about playing card games on places that aren't tables?" Raika asked.
"How should I know? I only met them last week." Mamoru replied to the dark haired's question.
"Oh nice, me too."

"Let us begin, boy." Madara said with a straight look.
"I've waited for this moment for years, old man. Stand up!"
"My!"
"Vanguard!"

In the next chapter:

"I'm so sorry..."

"Even though this was a clash of truth and ideals, it felt like the first the two of them had a father-son time."

"You can say we are like a Thunderous Rebellion."

"Who the hell are you guys?"

"You're appart of a bigger universe, Raijin Komamura."
