It had been weeks since the Cullen's returned and more boys have been shifting. Aleida was currently seated walking through the woods at night. She knew it was dangerous but she had been slowly working up her abilities until one of the pack members arrived.

Aleida remember vividly when the pack had begged her to stay out of the forest until the redheaded vampire was taken care of but she was becoming restless for the feel of nature.

She was aware that more of the boys would be out tonight, seeing as she was at the pack meeting.

She was further than usual, basically right next to the treaty-line.

Picking her steps cautiously, she got as close to the border as she dared. She wouldn't admit it o herself, but she felt a pull drawing her to the other side. It wasn't a nature pull, but more of a tugging on her heart. She felt as if there was some invisible tether trying to make her cross over.

Turning away, she followed the stream down more, bringing her closer to the heart. It was easier her her to wield her power but she still struggled with her lack of energy and control.

The night was eerie, a certain stillness that set Aleida on edge. The dark was a dangerous place for those who weren't aware, and Aleida thanked the Gods that she would feel if anything was approaching.

A lone howl of a wold brought her to. Stilling, she allowed herself to feel a small sliver of fear for herself at her position alone in the dark. The wolves were on the hunt, and the redhead was there prey.

Aleida willed them to go the opposite way, if the leech was to cross the border no one would be able to pursue but her, and she was not fast like the others.

The trembling of the ground alerted her of their approach. Shouts , growls and snarls mixing together to sound like a dangerous game, and she was ready to find out where she fit in.

Closing her eyes, she let the tremors guide her as she slammed her fist down. Rock debris and soil shot out in a forward jab, knocking into the oncoming redhead. Aleida opened her eyes and was made aware of the Cullen's watching her at the other side of the stream in slight horror, the pack still nowhere to be found.

Facing the the snarling vampire, she lifts her hand and flicks her finger. The ground underneath the snarling vampires feet gives away lightly and pulls her closer to Aleida.

With a determined glint in her eyes, she moves her hands quickly in front of her, the soil following her command and forming a rock shaped dome around the redhead. With every punch or kick, Aleida felt like it was connecting with her own body, bruises began to litter her skin.

"How close?" she breathed, her words barely forming s they fell past her lips.

"Almost here," Esme tells the girl. Wincing at every purple blemish that appears on her skin. "Just hold on a little longer."

Aleida attempts to nod but only winces as she feels another blow to her stomach. Bending slightly, she gasped for breath as she coughed up what she believed to be blood. A drip on her lip alerts her to her nose bleeding as well.

On the side of the stream, both Jasper and Emmett growl at the sight of her blood. Jasper turned away and towards Alice for reassurance, While Emmett continued to stare. He was completely entranced by her blood, the scent singing out to him, not to be consumed but for his protection.

His rage at the redheaded vampire only increased, she was the cause for the the delicate girls pain. Every pain filled whimper, gasp or cry was a blow to him.

The thumping of multiple feet alerted to the wolfs arrival. The entire scenario had felt like an eternity for Aleida, but it had only been a few minutes.

The presence of her pack caused her to sigh in relief and drop her arms, releasing the hellbent vampire.

Rock flew out towards her as the dome was broken apart, throwing her backwards and knocking her with multiple pieces.

Aleida hit the ground with a soft thump, a strangled gasp escaped her lips. She could vaguely make out the sounds of snarls and growls, the sound of feet and paws giving chase.

A wet nose touched her face, the wolf whimpered when she barely gave any response. The wolf was the only member of the pack who stayed behind, the others too determined on catching their prey.

Aleida wasn't entire sure whether she was crying or not. She felt like she should be, like she could be, but she wasn't sure. Her head was light and her limbs heavy.

The wolf shifted on the spot, quickly pulling on the shorts he had tied to his legs.

"It's okay, you're fine." Embry told her, his voice slightly panicked.

"I know," Aleida managed to choke out. Embry laughed softly, only she would reply something like that when she looked like death.

"That's good, then you'll be able to get the scolding and possible grounding from Emily."

Aleida groans quietly. "She can't ground me," she mumbles through dry lips.

Embry chuckled at her as he analyzed how bad she was hurt. "I'd like to see you tell her that."

She took a moment to think before replying, "I'll hide from her."

"You look like you were hit by a truck," Embry snorted.

"Try and say something smart like that again," she playfully threatens him. Coughing slightly, she winced in pain at the dryness of her throat. "Damn, what's a girl gotta do to get water around here?" she joked.

"Oh shut up, you want me to get you stream water?" Embry asked causing Aleida to shoot him a glare. "We'll get you water as soon as Dr. Vamp gets here."

Aleida sighs lightly and closes her eyes. She was tired. She was so extremely tired and she just anted food and water, maybe a nice shower.

"How was she not able to get out?" Aledia opened her eyes slowly and took in the small vampire on the other side of the stream. It was the same one that she had encountered at Bella's home, however this time she was more open and friendly. Beside her was a blond boy, maybe late teens, who looked pained to be in such a close proximity to Aleida.

"Is it not uncomfortable for you, blond one? The scent of my blood. Does it to make you hungry?" Aleida taunts. Lying on the ground she must look incredibly awful, but she did not care. Her voice coming out scratchy, and low.

"Jasper does not wish to hurt you, he is simply newer to this lifestyle," the tiny one spoke. "How was she not able to get out?" Alice restates her question.

"I reinforced the solidity of the rock with every blow." Aleida explains, closing her eyes once again. "How long until we can leave? Do you think Emily will have food ready?"

"How are you even awake still?" Embry asked. "Aren't you tired?"

"I'm much too hungry to sleep."

Embry looked at the vampires on the other side of the stream with slight apprehension. "What's taking so long? Did they catch her?"

Alice shook her head sadly. "No. Emmett was too... absorbed in his chase that he went to cross the border to catch her. He and Paul had a little... altercation," she finished off unsure. It wasn't something she knew how to explain correctly, she had to be cautious of her words to ensure that the boy didn't get angry and shift so close to Aleida.

"I'll kick his ass," Aleida groaned, trying to force herself into a sitting position. Embry fluttered around her trying to get her to lay back down without hurting her more.

"Who?" Embry cried, his arms holding her to him as delicately as possible.

"This Emmett guy. You don't mess with my wolves without feeling the repercussions."

"Hmm, why don't you take a small nap?" Embry suggest, rocking the girl gently. "We can set up some sort of time for you to yell at him later."

"I'm gonna do more than just yell at him," she mumbles, leaning into his warmth.

"I know you will."

Aleida hums in acknowledgement, unaware of the worried look Alice was giving them as she heard her family and the pack returning.
