         Seungmin laughed, reading Hyunjin's final texts before turning his phone off. He looked up and his gaze fell to the playground area, where he could see Hyeseong sitting on one of the swings, talking with another girl on the swing beside hers. He stuffed his phone into the pocket of his jeans before making his way towards the two.

        She immediately recognized him, even when he was still at the entrance of the playground. Passing him a small, friendly wave and smile, Hyeseong got off the swing. Her friend followed her gaze until it landed on Seungmin too, and she gave a curious expression, eyebrows rising slightly.

        "Hey," Seungmin greeted once he reached the two, returning the same smile and wave. "Sorry, I'm a little late, got caught up with studying," he said. A small laugh followed as he scratched the back of his head. He'd been late to everything today, hadn't he? The first time it was class, because of his bike breaking randomly midway to school, then for his shift at the convenience store, also because of his broken bike and the study group, and now the small meetup with Hyeseong, because of the many studies that needed to be completed.

        "That's alright! No rush, you know?" She laughed before she made her way to the bench beside the swing set, where two backpacks were placed. She reached into one of them and pulled out a notebook. Seungmin recognized it as his. "Minji and I weren't doing anything too, nor were we planning on doing something, so..." She turned back to him with a smile on her face and the notebook in her hands before she passed it to him.

        Seungmin took it and put it into his backpack quickly. "Thanks. I- I don't usually lose my stuff I don't know how I happened to forget this at the library today. It happens, I guess."

        "Yeah, it's alright, it's no trouble."

        "Yeah..." Seungmin's gaze wandered around. He had no idea how to end the conversation. Did he just have to say bye and leave? Wasn't that a bit too rude, or was he overthinking it? And why on earth was he feeling so awkward?

        "I'll, uhm, I'll get going now. See you at school tomorrow?" he spoke, deciding to just go with the 'say bye and leave' option.

        Hyeseong smiled, and Seungmin noted how she didn't seem awkward at all, or maybe she was feeling awkward, but she sure was good at hiding it if that was the case. "Yeah, alright! See you then."

        Seungmin returned the smile that hadn't even left her lips since he saw her. He sort of mumbled a 'take care' before he turned and began to exit the playground, taking the same route he used just some minutes ago. Before he could walk too far, though, his name was called, and so he turned around, seeing Hyeseong on the swing again, her eyes on him.

        "You joining us tomorrow after school? It was nice having you around today," she said, and at first the question didn't register in Seungmin's mind, but once it did, he laughed, the confused expression that had taken over him disappearing. 

        "Was it, really?" he asked, but it wasn't really a question. He bounced on his heels, clutching his backpack tighter as he tilted his head. "I... I don't know, but I'll try to make time. You know, me and my full schedule, and as you said in your text, Kim Seungmin and his never-ending list of jobs."

         "Truly never-ending," she commented, and he laughed.

        "Well, I've gotta go now if I don't wanna be late to another one of the jobs on that never-ending list. Erm, thank again for the notebook," he finally said, and with another 'bye' from her and a wave, Seungmin turned again, this time leaving the playground, and then proceeding to exit the park.

        A tutoring session was waiting for him at eight. Which reminded him, what even was the time? 

        He pulled his phone out of his pocket, and the bright lock screen lit up. Thursday, 23 March, 7:57.

        Seriously, again? Was it national being late to everything day or something?

        Seungmin huffed, about to put the phone back in his pocket when a single notification, in the middle of a bunch from Hyunjin and others for school, caught his eye. It was the same one from earlier, the same one from that morning, the same one he'd been ignoring since.

        He swiped left, clearing the notification before he switched his phone off and put it in his pocket again. If he ignored it for so long already, it wouldn't hurt to pretend it wasn't there for another hour or two, right?

I'M ALIVE sorry for the long wait I literally have not even been getting the time to breathe 😭😭 but I got this one day holiday for new years so :D yay I managed to write jsjsjsj 

A very short chapter but I still hope you enjoyed it! I can't guarantee it but I will try to update soon as I've already started with the next chap :]
