#Not my home#

They say home is where there is a mother and a father and a child.

I have three.

They say a home is where the heart is.

My heart has been searching for that home.

Home is where we love, the home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts.

        After school I had to rush home for a quick change, I can't remember the last time I ever felt this place as a home when am hardly around. I had spent a week here before heading out for my mission, So coming here now is just for me to collect my things that I left behind. My home has always been with the Greene's at the mansion or the pack house.

I once lived with my mom in a portable cottage my dad built with his hands, it resided at the edge of the pack close to the forest but ever since dad died mom hasn't step foot there. I was six when she also withdrew from me and I was made to consider another my home. My aunt left immediately after my dad's burial, she says she couldn't stand being in our hometown, that it felt wrong.

'I guess it didn't feel wrong leaving her only niece and sister'

I remember days when aunt Abby was around, the memories might not be clearer but I do know she cherished both me, Jaden and Tyler, she made us call her by her name without the aunt in it.

Mom is a baker at her caffe, 'Ash n Abs cakes', it was a name founded by her and her sister, they call it a family business. she gains enough to take care of us and for extra gain because the Reins' and the Greenes' also help in taking care of our needs, ever since dad died nothing goes out of their reach even the two bedroom flat modern home we are currently living in I suspect Alpha Greene has something to do with it not that am complaining, no it's just that there comes a time when it's just too much like am not even living my life. I would have gotten a part time job like any other teenager living with a single mom but both families strictly forbid me from working and I have no say to decline.

I love them honestly especially how they treat me like their own daughter since they had none but some time I just wish they could let me out of the nest to source for adventure.

"Hi mom am back", I yelled while dropping my bag on the sofa.

"Melenie?, Honey am in the kitchen"

The clashing of pots and utensil confirms that much.

    My mother Ashley Cruiz, a tall middle aged woman with dark brown hair and dark eyes. I got her curves and her smile, my mom is the most sweetest and coolest mother ever though I have my dad's eye color and character like my mom always says but everything else is my mother.

"Honey how was school today?".

I quickly took an apple from the counter while I watch mom cook dinner, by the quantity I knew it was for one. I came here last night catching up with mom and narrating all the cool places aunt Abby took me during her free time.

Aunt Abby really did well with her life, she's an event planner for a corporate organization, it wasn't easy getting a free time with her I didn't even get to meet her so called fiance. Mom had cried through out the story with a silly grin on her face. she and aunt Abby hardly stay in touch, its only once in a while they write one another, they had both refused to get cell phones like normal modernize people, not only them, but most of the elders here refuses to own a cell phone.

"School was fun, I missed it so much"
I took another bite from the apple half mindlessly watching her shift around in discomfort.

It always make me wonder what secrets my mom was keeping to make her that emotional.

"That's great honey. How about Jaden and Tyler?"

I made sure to swallow before answering her.

"They're fine but Claria seems nicer to me"

She faced me with a raised brow, thats the only thing she has interest in, my social life and how my powers are coming around

"And that's bad?"

I mellowed over it muttering lowly "Yeah"

"Anyway there's a pack meeting today"

Mom is a human who married a mage long story short she knows about werewolves and me being a witch and she also has been helping me find dad's possessions and more about his mysterious background so far we have only been able to find a spell book and a present which dad made mom swore she must give me once I turn 18 which is in six months time and I can't wait.

"That's great, say hi to Rosie and Serena for me"

I yelled a 'sure thing' before rushing to my room to put on a sweater. evening time in Brigima is always cold and so I styled my hair in a tight pony tail before grabbing my keys and head to my hot red 1967 Corvette Stingray an early birthday present from yours truly Alpha, he is such a funny silly old man who fights with Beta Rein over who's my favorite father figure at least to me but to others he is stern and ice cold.

The drive to the pack house is just a few miles away once I arrived I noticed that all wolves are running up and down busily carrying things about.

             I storm my way to the front door while returning greetings to fellow pack members. The pack house is the second biggest mission in this small town, it mostly houses all wolves, its still a nice place with a huge living room with a dinning attached to it. Immediately I closed the door I noticed two tall older men in a corner talking, they each had identical features to my two best friends, One of them was more muscular he had his hands crossed as his calculating green eyes gaze above, His dirty blonde hair stuck every where the other man was also muscular he had blue eyes and dark hair.

'Just perfect'

They noticed me walking towards them and each had a huge smile on their faces.

"There's our little princess"

I kept my face natural while the man with blue eyes and dark hair gazed warmingly at me, Beta Rein crush me in a bear I admit I melted in his embrace before keeping my face blank.

"My, my little princess those four months sure did change yall alot'

Alpha Greene commented before also pulling me in a bear hug.

'Gosh I've missed them'

"Thanks" I couldn't help myself but smile totally forgetting am suppose to be angry at them for something.

"Melenie!!!!" two beautiful siren voices called from behind before am eloped in a group hug. I felt tears pricking in my eyes.

The truth is I have never been away from home I had to throw tantrums and bribe Alpha Greene before he could let me and yes I did had fun in California but Brigima will always be home for me.

"Gosh look at you all grown up" Rosie commented as her forest green eyes gazed at me up and down with a motherly smile on her face, her red hair styled neatly in a braid counter more to her beauty, I frown feeling the same way I was before I left.

"But mama Rosie it's only been four months" I groan

"Four months too long, our little girl is still our little pup"

Serena argued challenging her grey eyes at me, her dark brown hair was also styled in a braid.

"Whatever" I roll my eyes, they laughed at my childishness.

'What a minute where are those old goose'

I turn around to notice Alpha Greene and Beta Rein slowly walking away.

'Damn those two'

"Ehem, where are you two going?"

They froze each turning to give me a wide grin but I know those are guilty smile.

"Why princess we have duties to attend to" Alpha Greene answered while Beta Rein nodded "Now run along little pup we will play with you later"

I fold my arms and give them my meanest glare.

"Oh no you don't fool me I know you sent some pack member to watch me".

They froze.

A pang of laughter came from behind them before Tyler appeared resting both arms on the two old men.

"See I told you she knew"

So he told them urgh!!!!!!, I knew I shouldn't have told him, if my glare could kill he would have been ten feets under by now.

"Really Damien?" Rosie came beside me crossing her arms while glaring those forest green eyes at them, Rosie was know to be the most scariest when angry and right now am so glad those eyes weren't directed towards me.

"Now whose idea was it?"

They both look at each other before pointing accusingly.

'They were like typical children'

"My! you two sure act like kids, I thought you were more mature than him Lucas" Serena added joining us, always the peacemaker just like her son.

I rolled my eyes shaking my head profusely while watching the old men bickering soon Rosie and Serena started scolding them which brought in more bickering. Tyler was already by my side resting his arm on me before turning me away from the scene.

"Come on Melly Pooh lets go find Jady"

Gladly we left the adult to the large living room which was arrange in a way to accommodate drinks and variety of food there where numerous teens and adults both mated and unmated lounging around, all the wolves where here getting ready for a meeting.

Every male that stared at me sent a bashful welcome back greetings, it made me feel warm and annoyed at the low growl Ty continued releasing indiscreetively. We had decided to act like a couple so that probably meant him began like a possessive caveman.

'What do I sign up for?!'

We found Jaden on one of the chairs with a drink in his hand and his gaze focused on his phone, He was so focus on his phone he didn't realize we had already sat down beside him.

"What's wrong bro?" I became concern. His blue eyes found mine they seem hurt but after realizing that it was me they soften. He shooked his head.

"Nothing it's just Claria"

Tyler groaned "Dude that girl is like a walking physco does she like have her monthly due all the time".

I mentally agree with Tyler, Claria definitely have her mood swing constantly.

"No she doesn't and don't you talk about my mate like that" Jaden growled and Tyler growled back  challengingly.

I rolled my eyes at them while muttering under my breath,

'Boys. Mates. Stupid mate bond. urgh!'

"Calm down Jady" I rested my hand on his shoulder. he relaxed under my touch

"Whatever it is am sure you two can work it out"

Jaden finally let out that dazzling smile that I love so much I couldn't help it but smile back at him Tyler just had to be a jerk and ruin the moment.

"So Melly Pooh What type of magic did you learn?"

I couldn't stop the coy smile,

"Well so far I got a book about Invisibility and telepathy"

"Cool, so like no more walking or driving huh?", his excitement was contagious but his laziness prominent, I couldn't stop the eye roll.

"True but it drains my energy so it can't be used on a regular basic"

They each look tense probably adding more rules to their list it probably a thousand by now.

"How's mama Ashley?"

Always the observant, Jaden asked. He knows how I feel about mom's  negligence towards me.

"She's okay, same as always just more eager to get me out of her side"

"Mel, am sure there is a perfectly good explanation"

And for some unknown reason he always make up excuses for her, if it wasn't for him I probably would have stopped her visiting a long time ago. It hurts that none of my real family wanted me, my dad left, my aunt left then my mother.

"For how long are you going to defend the mother who never wanted me"

Tyler spoke, "You are wrong Mel, mama Ashley does love you, to be honest I really do think there is more to it than you think"

Seriously him too. I didn't hide my disappear, I mean what was so special about my mom or rather what reason could they probably know that I didn't.

"I found an envelope on dad's table, mama Ashley name was written on it"

Tyler next words didn't shock me but rather it made me raise brow in question even Jaden's scoff confirmed that much disbelief.

"You found? Or you were snooping around"

Tyler sneer at him before huffing pompously.

"Alright fine I looking for some pots alright"

Typical Tyler but my brow rose higher in disbelief at that crazy old dude with weed.

"Alpha Greene smokes?"

"Father does a lot of crazy stuffs that you have no idea about, now can I go back to my story"

"Of course sorry"

"The thing is the envelope was packed and was directed to your mom but as Ashely Brigima. Was your mom the formal founder of Brigima? Also who is Shaaman Norway? His name and number was written on a papers tomorrow the envelope".

Mom was the former founder before the attack! And what is her connection with this stranger and why is Alpha Greene sending her money?

This was big, it was the closest evident we ever had about the mystery around us.

What are the adults really hiding.
