Ch. 4
"This can't be real... can it?" I was sitting in my tent that they gave me. It was actually quiet big. The inside looked like a normal room. I sighed and pulled out the laptop and journal. I looked at the chains around the laptop and narrowed my eyes. "Great. I don't have the key so what am I going to do?" I sighed and put it away, I looked at the journal and opened it. I looked at the first page and read what it said.
"Dear diary,
Today as I was exploring the forest for deer until I saw something strange. A boy was on the ground unconscious and hurt. I took him home and put him in the basement so I wouldn't freak April out. She doesn't need to know about this. Not yet." It was dated January 7th. The date now was now August 20th. I hesitantly went to the next page. January 10th, is what the date said.
"Dear diary,
The boy has shown signs of waking up soon. I can't take him to the hospital not now. People would think I did something to him. I took care of his injures myself and they seem to be healing reverently fast. April has been getting suspicious of my behavior but still hasn't asked about it. I know I should tell her but I'm afraid of scaring her with this. I just hope this boy gets better so-"
"HEY SHORT STUFF GET OUT HERE!" I jumped and quickly close the journal and went outside. I saw Seth and the guy with feathers outside. He smiled at me. "H-hi, I'm Michael. I'm sorry about earlier, it's just we haven't had a human here in-" "That's enough Michael." Seth said coldly. We both shivered at his tone. I smiled at Michael. "Don't worry its ok." He looked at me concerned before nodding. Seth rolled his eyes and started walking away. "Come on dinners ready."
I followed them and didn't say anything. We entered this one tent that was bigger then the others. And like my tent it was much larger on the inside. There where rows and rows of tables and seats, many with peo- I mean angles, in them. Seth and Michael took a seat but there where no opened seats around them. I looked around until someone tapped my shoulder. I turned around and saw Kadondra. I let out a sigh of relief and smiled.
"Would you like to sit with me?" She asked her Jamaican accent showing a bit. I hesitantly nodded as she smiled. She took my hand and lead me over to a few empty seats about ten-fifteenth seats away from Seth. Kadondra looked at me and smiled. "How are you feeling?" I bit my lip a little and quietly said. "I... I don't know. This is all so new to me, and angels.. I.. I didn't even know they were real." She laughed at my response. "That is to be suspected darling don't worry. If there is anything you would like to know don't hesitate to ask." I smiled and nodded.
The one girl that threw me at the tree walked by and made a girl move and sat next to Seth. "Wh-who is that?" Kadondra sighed. "Thats Victoria." She leaned over to me and whispered. "In my opinion I think shes a half-demon." "H-half-demon?" I turned pale at this thought. Kadondra noticed. "Oh don't worry sweetheart half-demons are rare to come by, or well if it's a demon-angle." I looked at her confused but intrested. "So there's different kinds of angles and demons?"
Kadondra laughed. "Of course there is. There's blood knights, skin walkers, pure bloods, succubus, normal demons and the half borns that are human. And those are only a few of the demons." I looked at her terrified. "B-b-blood knights? Wh-what are those?" I asked scared. "They're the creatures that a lot of you mortal girls seem really interested in but they don't sparkle and do much of the whole romance either." I thought for a moment. "You mean vampires?" She snapped her fingers. "That's what you call them!"
I covered my mouth a bit and laughed. "So what about angles? What's the different kind for you?" She sighed and thought for a moment. "Well there's Fallen angels, which is what we are, then there's the holies, the guardians, the half breeds, and the normal ones." "Don't forget about the descendants."I looked over across the table and saw a guy. He had dark teal hair and amber eyes. He pushed his glasses up and smiled at me. "Good day to you miss. My name is Benjamin Foreman, it's a pleasure to meet you." I smiled and shook his hand. "It's very nice to meet you too Benjamin, I'm April."
Kadondra laughed. "You can call him Ben, and again if you have any questions you can ask me or him. We'll be more then happy to help." Ben smiled and nodded. "It's interesting actually." I looked over confused. "Well you're the first human to survive a demon attack like that AND save a angel. By my calculations and from the information on human anatomy you should have died from lack of blood lost and a few of your organs should be damaged." I looked at him shocked and completely speechless.
Victoria slammed her hands on the table and glared at me. "She did not save him, there's no way this pathetic human could do that." I jumped a bit from her slamming her hand on the table. She snickered. "See, she's even terrified by a little noise like this. Why don't we just get rid of her-" "VIctoria! STOP!" Kadondra demanded. "She is our responsibility now and we shall treat her with kindness." Victoria glowed as left the dining tent. I looked down and got up. "I-I'm going back to my tent." Ben looked at me concerned. "What about dinner aren't you-" "I'm not hungry." I said as I walked out.
I walked back to my tent and took the journal out again. I went to the third entry. It was dated January 13th.
"Dear diary,
It's been about a week since I found this boy in the woods. He's regain consciousness a bit, he can at least open his eyes but hasn't moved or spoken yet. I'm planning on telling April so she could help me with the boy. I know this will scare her but it's too late to take him to a doctor. I just hope he doesn't die on me. I'd hate to try and explain that a boy that probably is missing somewhere was found dead in my house. I'm hoping he's ok and this will be over so-"
The rest of the entry was cut off and was a bunch of scribbles. I flipped to the next page and just saw strange scribbles and doodles in it. The next few pages where just like that. I kept looking through it as the scribbles and doodles slowly started showing words, I stopped as I saw a entry that looked normal. May 21st.... That was four months after the last one. I looked at what was written.
"Dead diary,
I have grown accustomed to this fragile body, and the subject has been a bit reckless. I've had to restrain him more. He thought having his wings out would help him but that only made his torment easier. I cut his wings in seventeen different places making sure that when he moves them it'll cause excruciating pain. Dealing with him is no longer a problem, that girl that lives here though is a bit of a pian. I've kept a decent job at keeping her away from the door, but her curiosity is annoying. I've thought of just killing her in her sleep, opening her chest up slowly and pulling her organs out one by one as she screams in pain.-"
I closed the journal scared to read anymore. I sat there scared. "Th-that thing.. want to..." I put the journal away and sat on the ground. I held my knees close to my chest and cried. "April?" I looked up scared and saw Michael. He looked at me with sad eyes. "Homesick?" He asked sit down in front of me. I looked down and nodded. "I wish none of this happened." I whispered.
Michael sighed and patted my head. "I know you do." I tightened my hold around my knees as more tears formed. "If my uncle never saw Seth none of this would have happened. If he didn't get hurt in the first place he would still be alive!-" "And how do you know I was hurt when your uncle found me?" Seth asked glaring at me as he entured my tent. I turned pale and looked down. "Your an angel. You don't like humans seeing you, it makes since." He gritted his teeth and picked me up by my hair. "You don't know ANYTHING! So shut the hell up you stupid mortal!" He let me go and walked out.
Michael helped me up. "Sorry about Seth, he has a bit of a temper." "No kidding." I said rubbing my head." He sighed. "Thank you." I looked at him confused. "Huh?" "Thank you, for saving Seth. He's my best friend and I was worried he was gone forever or...." I scooted closer to him. "Or what?" He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "Or that he joined the demons." I laughed at that. "Join the demons? He's an angel like you, why would he join them when they want to kill you guys."
He shook his head. "I heard Kadondra telling you about the half-angel, half-demon breed." "Um yah but she said their super rare since you two hate each other." Michael sighed. "No Seth is that breed, he can join any side. He was born from an angle mother so that's why he's here."
