Arthur Bond was not James Bond. Yes, he was a part of an secret security organization known as C.H.U.R.C.H.—the Counter Hostility Unit for Resistance, Combat, and Harmony—and, yes, he did wear suits and have advanced weapons and technology, and, yes, he was seen as rather mysterious and alluring despite being only in his late twenties, but he wasn't going on super secret spy missions with a number instead of a name. If anything, he was a glorified member of the British Intelligence Agency.

But that didn't mean he didn't go on missions. Tasked with protecting one of Britain's top military officials, he thought it was a simple routine task, accompanying the man to America, land of baseball, hot dogs, and incorrect spelling. But when they are met with Everett Ross, air force flyboy who was tasked with escorting them around Washington D.C., Arthur begins to suspect that he and Everett were caught in a game larger than themselves.

Years later saw Arthur as a Commander in C.H.U.R.C.H.'s Counter Terrorism Unit and Everett working for the CIA, the two settled down, commuting between their flat in London and their suburban D.C. home. But just because they were settled didn't mean they were stagnant, and the two were often away from the other, the CIA and C.H.U.R.C.H. being much too demanding. But the two were endlessly devoted to their work, as they had both come to an agreement before making the step towards marriage and settling down. That had been a feat to itself.

But they were still human, so when Everett was tasked with tracking down Ulysses Klaue in South Korea, Arthur decided to go with, the two opting to have a little holiday once the deal was made. It was nothing more than a harmless excursion and slight lapse of judgement, but wound up being one of the biggest games the two had ever played; and they planned on winning.

AUTHOR'S NOTE

Everett Ross is such a dad and I want him to have a husband where the two can just read the paper and lovingly jibe at each other, is that too much to ask? This is honestly a shameless combination of my love for Kingsman and love for adorable young Martin Freeman, so we're just gonna get that out of the way. This takes place first in the past (I'm still trying to decide whether it's late 80's or early 90's, it all depends on how old Everett is...I wanna say he's 50, so we'll go with that.) and then Civil War and Black Panther, so you'll see characters from my T'Challa and Shuri fics appearing in here and vice versa.

I'm also using aspects of Everett in the comics for this, because he was actually meant to be an escort for foreign diplomats, which is why I had him be one, but it's supposed to be strange because he's just an air force pilot, you know? It's clever, I'm excited.
