Chapter 2: First Day - S System

Ishigami Yu's POV

I don't know how to feel about my new classmates. But I'm a bit impressed with some people, including girls, even though I have a bad history with girls. That doesn't mean I hate girls, it's just that I believe in equal rights for men and women.

I guessed that no girl would talk to me because of my rude introduction just now, in fact I didn't care what others thought of me. I will always do what I think is right, I simply like it.

"Hello, gender equality friend!" Hearing someone's voice, I looked up.

A girl with short black hair and a somewhat beautiful face was smiling and waving at me.

What is this girl's purpose?

If you pay close attention, there seem to be four hidden cameras in the classroom. I'm quite good with technology so recognizing this was easy. Why do schools use hidden cameras? This curiosity was born in my heart. After a while, I put my curiosity aside and decided to focus on the object in front of me.

"Etou.. Ichihashi right?" After receiving her nod, I decided to ask the main issue: "You must have heard my introduction, it's very suspicious that you came here and started talking to me."

Show me how long you can pretend, Ichihashi. I'm sure you lost the bet that's why you came here to talk to me. I couldn't trust any of the girls in the class, no one dared to get close to someone who was willing to hit them.

I honestly admit that her appearance isn't bad.

"Hmmm, I didn't think much about it. Hey, let's make friends! I'm very interested in your personality." Ichihashi continues to bother me.

I clicked my tongue in annoyance at her actions. It's not that she hates that action, because she's identical to that damn woman.

"You're very strange, you know that?!" I remained calm and responded with a very cold voice.

"So you agree to be my friend?" I don't agree at all, what the hell is wrong with her?

"Are not." I stood up and walked out of the classroom.

"Wait for me!!" What are you chasing me for?

Ichihashi Ruri, what are you planning? Why would you sell to a bastard like me? Are you blind?

Why aren't you like other girls? You can surround Hirata.

Why do you follow and disturb my life?

"Oh..."

I'm being too negative again. I don't know what mental illness I have, but when I'm around girls. I was always on full alert and had extremely negative thoughts towards them. Even though I don't want to think of them like that, those thoughts keep arising and I can't control them.

The fact that Ichihashi followed Hirata basically had nothing to do with me, it was her decision to follow me. I have no right to ask her to follow anyone, I just have the right to chase her away at any time.

I glanced at Ichihashi walking beside me, intending to open my mouth and chase her away.

But I can't say it.

Sigh, just ignore it.

I'm in negative mode now, it would be bad if I decided to say something. I can even curse her the hardest to drive her away when I really lose control, it's better if I keep all my words to myself. I can't imagine how serious the consequences would be if I deeply hurt Ichihashi.

I decided to ignore her until she stopped following me.

Sano Manjiro's POV

My first impression of this school was a boring one, introduced as a school for elite students, but how is it different from a normal school? Actually, I found it difficult to understand when I got into this school. I wasn't good at studying and always ranked last in middle school. I couldn't even write a word on the entrance exam.

The only thing I find interesting is 100,000 points for a high school student. Come on, I know I'm an idiot and confident in pure physical strength. But I'm not stupid enough to not notice anything unusual, it's just that everything around me that happened on the first day made me feel very bored.

I glanced slightly and saw Sudou leaving the classroom, that idiot only loved basketball and didn't care about making friends. Actually, it's not that I hate him, after all, he once saved a group of kids in my gang. But that doesn't mean I owe him anything.

The fact that I forced Sudou to introduce himself to everyone in class was simply because I wanted to understand him better. I just want to be friends with the person who saved my gang juniors. But it seems I scared him.

I turned to my friend with shoulder-length pink hair and blue eyes and said: "Hello, Satou!"

"Mik— Ah, Sano-kun, hello!" She wants to call me Mikey.

"You can call me Mikey if you like, I also like this nickname better. At home, my parents also call me Mikey." I said happily.

"Okay?"

I nodded.

"Mikey-kun, do you have any plans for the future?" Plans for the future? Actually, yes, but I will reconsider my plans for three years at this school.

"I think I'll disband the gang and take over the family dojo." I answered frankly.

"Gang?!" Satou was surprised and shouted at me.

Ah, everyone is looking my way.

"Are you a gang member?"

"I'm the leader, not a member."

"Ehh, I didn't think my table mate was the gang leader." Isn't she afraid?

"Aren't you scared?" I asked.

"You said you were going to disband the gang and that means you're bored with this, right?" Satou is right on point. She continued: "I'm surprised a gang leader got into this school."

Don't ask me about that, Satou. I don't even know how I got into this school.

"Do you want to go buy something with me?" I asked.

"Okay, we have 100,000 personal points."

What did Satou just say?

"Individual score"... Why does the school call it "individual score"? Why don't they call it "point" to be more concise?

Wait, there's something very interesting here.

I realized this school was not normal. Something very interesting, my intuition has never been wrong.

I still clearly remember the reason why I wanted to disband Tokyo Manji.

Boring!

I won too much and have never lost a fight, whether it was a hand-to-hand fight or an all-out war. I always win even though my teammates have fallen. The fights were too easy, I couldn't get enough of a challenge.

I really hope that this school will make me less depressed.

"Let's go, Satou."

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka's POV

After the teacher left the classroom, I didn't particularly pay attention to any other individuals except Matsushita. We stood up and walked out of the classroom together as we had decided.

On the way, I noticed Matsushita had a very thoughtful expression on her face, she realized that the S system was not normal.

This woman has some intelligence, is my provisional assessment.

"Why don't you dare stand up and tell everyone about the abnormality of the S system? I'm sure Hirata and Kushida will also see something unusual and will help you."

I observed Hirata and Kushida's expressions change when listening to Chabashira-sensei's explanation of the S system, they are indeed capable people. But I know their potential has not been activated and it takes a huge push to activate it.

Ah, old habits are back.

I cannot live a peaceful time if I continue to keep my old habits. I really hate my ability to adapt, it's a lot more annoying than I thought it would be.

"You have really good observation." Matsushita shrugged and continued: "I'm not confident enough to attract everyone's attention, it's as simple as that."

"As far as I know, the Matsushita family is not small. If you inherit and maintain your lack of confidence, you will face many problems in the future."

Matsushita showed no signs of anger or dissatisfaction, as she agreed with my words. She is quite mature for her age

"I know. So I just entered this school with the hope of finding a career that suits me better."

Maybe I'll talk to her privately about my doubts.

We entered the convenience store. Everyone gathered here in large numbers to buy the things they needed. I was with Matsushita all this time, and according to my personal guess, some of these rumors would arise. Actually, I don't care that much.

During the trip, I saw free student meals, are there people saving points? Ah no, they actually have no points so they have to eat that. Even if they are frugal, it's not enough to eat free food. I'm sure they are second or third year students.

"Matsushita."

"Eh?"

"Follow me." I held Matsushita's hand and pulled her with me.

"Ehh? Wait! What is going on?!!"

Matsushita and I approached the dining table of a senior who was eating free food. I pulled out a chair and sat down across from him.

"Hello, are you an upperclassman? Can you tell me which class you are in?"

"Hah? Class 2-D."

Class D is similar to the two of us.

"As far as I know, you will receive 100,000 personal points a month. Why do you eat free food like this?" If he refuses to answer, then all my inferences are correct. If he uses an excuse, I will make inferences based on that excuse.

"It's just saving points."

What a stupid excuse, if he said that the school's computer system had malfunctioned so second and third year students had not yet been provided with their individual scores. That reason sounds more convincing than saving, of course I also have arguments to make that reason useless.

But if he only used the excuse of saving swords, things would become easier.

"Thanks for the information." I stood up and looked at Matsushita. She was falling into painful contemplation as she listened to the conversation between me and my second year senior. I spoke up and pulled her back to reality: "We're done here, let's go."

I realized there was another pair of eyes looking at me, as I remember it was Sa— ah well, I think it's much better to call him Mikey.

I went with Matsushita to Mikey's place. He is sitting with his friend Satou.

"Yo, Ayanokouji, huh?" Mikey waved at me.

"Hello, I guess you also have some doubts, right?" My question didn't make Mikey's expression change, only Satou was confused. Maybe Mikey hasn't told her anything yet.

"That's true. What's up? Do you want to discuss this with me?"

I nodded to answer him.

"Okay, I'll call Kenchin and Akichi here to discuss." Mikey took out his phone and texted his two best friends. Then, he turned to Satou: "Of course Satou can also participate in the meeting. Okay, Ayanokouji?"

"You can call me Kiyotaka. And my answer is of course." I said.

Mikey chuckled pleased with how the conversation was going.

"Then Kiyo, shall we discuss here?"

So you decided to shorten my name? Sounds good.

I looked around and saw that the surroundings were quite deserted.

All are second and third year students. They don't have personal points so they have to eat free food.

Matsushita and I pulled out chairs and sat down. The four of us decided to wait.

After Ryuguji and Miyake arrived, the discussion officially began. Matsushita just broke out in a cold sweat, and Satou looked very tense because of the atmosphere of this meeting.

"Everyone is gathered." I crossed my arms and continued: "First of all, aren't you wondering about 100,000 points for a month? It's really too much for a normal high school student."

"That's what I'm wondering too. Above all, why does the school call it a score and instead call it an individual score?" Mikey was much sharper than I expected.

"Second, as far as I remember, Chabashira-sensei didn't say 100,000 points monthly, she said 100,000 points this month." Matsushita said.

Satou and Miyake were startled when they heard Matsushita's explanation. As for Mikey, Ryuguji probably already noticed, they weren't surprised at all.

"Based on personal observation, I found that there are four hidden cameras in the classroom, which are very difficult to detect. From there, I guess the issue of providing grades for our class will depend on behavior during the first month. If our behavior is too bad, something terrible will happen." I continued.

Then, I saw Ryuguji raise his eyebrows and say: "This is a school for elite students, it would be strange if there was no competition. But if we look from the perspective of ordinary students, the competition is only for those who study best in school. However, from our perspective as elite students, perhaps we are not only competing individually, but also competing between classes."

"So what criteria do they use to rank each class?" Satou raised his hand and asked.

I turned my eyes to Matsushita who was rubbing his chin, his eyes clearly filled with thought. Before I could speak, she unconsciously said: "Class points."

Everyone sitting here turned their attention towards Matsushita. Luckily, if I was the one speaking, I would have been stared at like that.

"If there is another kind of point that Chabashira-sensei didn't tell us, that would explain Mikey-kun's question." Matsushita was still in an unconscious state and said what he was thinking.

It was as if she accidentally turned on some switch in her body when she was concentrating and thinking too much.

"Earlier, Ayanokouji-kun and I went to explore and saw the seniors eating free food instead of using points to buy food. This proves the existence of class points and it affects the individual points we will receive next month."

Slap! Slap! Slap!

I clapped my hands three times, which unintentionally brought Matsushita back to reality.

"Eh?" Matsushita was startled when he realized that he had said all the inferences in his head.

"You're really good, Matsushita!"

A competition between classes?

So class 1-D needs to have a suitable leader, of course it's not me.

Matsushita Chiaki, she has potential, I will make you the leader between classes.

"Wait, wouldn't that harm our class?!" Satou panicked.

"Don't panic, we'll tell them tomorrow." Mikey patted Satou's head as a way of reassurance.

I saw Satou blush and cover her face with both hands.

"Okay, I won't bother you guys anymore. We agreed to tell the class tomorrow." I stood up and spoke.

Matsushita also stood up and followed me. All the way, the two of us didn't say a word. Perhaps Matsushita is embarrassed by the appearance just now, I sincerely say that the appearance is not bad. Her potential is very high and I look forward to her.

When that potential is activated, how strong will she become?

I'm really curious...

Ack, I'm back to my old habits again.

We went to the front door of the dormitory. I suddenly stopped and turned to look at Matsushita.

"What's wrong, Ayanokouji-kun?" When she saw me looking at her, she tilted her head and asked.

Matsushita lacks the confidence to stand in front of everyone's eyes, which limits her abilities.

Let the girl become more mature.

I will be the one to break the chains called "inferiority" that are tightly wrapped around her.

"You should become the class leader, Matsushita!"

Matsushita Chiaki's POV

"You should become the class leader, Matsushita!"

Ayanokouji-kun was asking me to become the class leader, which stunned me for a few seconds.

I regained my composure and faced Ayanokouji-kun.

I realized Ayanokouji-kun is much smarter than me. If the person most worthy of becoming leader is Ayanokouji-kun, he is straightforward and decisive. That is a necessary quality of a true leader.

I lack confidence, I'm not capable of leading others.

I would suggest the opposite to Ayanokouji-kun.

No, he just wants a normal life. If I force him to become a leader, it will be the same as destroying his wish.

I had to refuse a little tactfully so as not to cause friction.

"Etou, I think there are more deserving people. For example, Kushida-san, Hirata-kun. They showed great ability to attract attention and communicate!"

"No, they are very good, I admit that. But they are not qualified to lead a class. And you are different, Matsushita."

"I'm not a talented leader. I have low self-esteem—"

"And that's what limits your abilities."

Ayanokouji Kiyotaka's POV

I have shown myself to be very smart and decisive in front of Matsushita from the moment we met until now.

She's smart enough to love you back to force me to become the leader.

But she didn't say anything like that and that helped me guess what she was thinking.

"If you feel it's unfair, just say it out loud. Don't you want me to live like a normal student?"

Matsushita was startled, I had guessed correctly.

"We have to change our thinking from now on. Because we have entered a harsher environment than before." White Room is much harsher than ANHS.

"But--"

Don't let Matsushita finish his sentence.

"From now on, I will accompany you to lead the class. You are the leader, and I will be the deputy leader."

"Why am I in the most important role?"

She was already wondering.

"Human beings always have personal shortcomings. You lack confidence, I lack the will to fight. We won't be able to keep going if we keep going like this."

That's right, I don't have the will to fight against that man.

"Think from now on, Matsushita. Can we live well in the outside world? Will people out there accept our flaws?"

I did not use cruel methods to pressure Matsushita.

Instead, I use the immediate reality to strike directly at the opponent's psychology.

Matsushita is a girl who is much more mature than her age.

What she lacks is confidence.

When defects are eliminated.

A strong leader will appear!

"Think about what I said, Matsushita!"

I turned and walked back into the dormitory.

Face reality, Matsushita!

If you fail, I will not hesitate and am ready to end your school life.
